And made myself (or rather my wife) a 20MOA rail for the Rem 700 I am building up for her. Just got to order up some 7075 to make the rail properly. This was made from some 6061 scraps I had laying around. A few tweaks and it will be a winner. Going to make one for my savage project next. Good times.

Took way longer to design and program it. Running it would have been pretty quick but I tend to do 1st time parts pretty slow to make sure everything is kosher. But really they don't take all that long to make.

How much was that mill?

I would prefer to not say as the deal I got on it was insanely good. I got it for less than I sold my manual mill for. The mill is nothing fancy but it does what I ask it too with nary a complaint. Hopefully I can get some more work going on it so I can buy a bigger, faster, more better machine in the not so distant future. But for now it works.

At the risk of hijacking...

I have an Eagle 3axis cnc mill that needs a home! Included is a box of Sandvik CAT40 holders for it.

This is a very heavy duty knee mill with a cat40 taper spindle.

Needs some work, but itd make a hell of a hobby machine. 48" X.

Ive just out grown it.

Sorry if I derailed your thread OP. Nice job btw.

I was just wondering if it was a machining center or an upgraded Bridgeport style. Either way, it's pretty serious equipment for a hobby guy.
I have a business making non-firearms related parts. I was doing most of the work on my manual mill which was killing me, then outsourcing the rest. This mill was a total game changer for that. I am probably going to start making some gun stuffs with it, like these rails and some other small widgets. Mainly to test out some ideas and partly because I am a cheap SOB and if I have the tools and the time, why not?

I don't care. I wish I was closer or I would strongly consider buying your mill. Wife already shot down me driving out to SD to get it :( . When I bought the manual mill I used to have i did a nearly non stop 29hr round trip to Oakland for it. That was an interesting little adventure. But that was in Sept and it was nice out. Not so sure about driving to Sturgis in the middle of winter pulling a not so light load. But Cat 40 knee mills are all business. You can get some serious work done on one of those.
