Gunsmithing Thoughts on recutting a chrome lined barrel.

Hey Guys,
What are your thoughts of recutting the crown of a chrome line barrel? I'm specifically thinking of an AR15 type barrel, but I guess it doesn't really matter.

Some guys says your chrome will chip or peel. Other guys say it's just fine. Any practical experience?

Use carbide tooling and get your spindle speed fast enough and you will be ok.

I've cut-down a couple of chrome lined FAL barrels, and did not have any issue with chipping.
