Had a press release a short time ago, we are very excited on the latest news! For those who have met Jeff at our Shot Show booth over the years, will all agree it could not happen to a better guy and a great race car driver!

    For Immediate Release-

Scuderia Corsa, the Los Angeles based Ferrari team competing in its first full season of GRAND-AM, has announced that Tactical Night Vision Company. (TNVC) sponsored driver Jeff Westphal will join Alessandro Balzan behind the wheel of the #63 Ferrari 458 for the remainder of the season in the Rolex GT class.

Westphal, a 26 year-old San Francisco native, started his racing career at a local northern California indoor go-cart track when the track owner was so impressed with his raw talent that he sponsored him for the 2004 Red Bull Driver Search Runoffs.

During the past few seasons Jeff has gained attention for his record-breaking victories in the Global Time Attack series and others early career highlights included a record string of victories in the Pacific F2000 series where he took the championship with 9 wins in 12 races. Jeff has earned numerous Continental Challenge starts together with two participations in the Rolex 24H At Daytona.

“I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to drive the #63 after working with Scuderia Corsa and Ferrari for over a year” said Jeff Westphal. “The two have a reputation nothing short of stellar and I look forward to moving forward with both in the rest of this 2013 season. The remaining races encompass quite the challenge with some world-class facilities and events, tracks that I cannot wait to see again from behind the wheel."

The Grand Am Rolex Series is a dual class endurance Championship with two categories racing at one time, and 2 drivers minimum per car. The GT class cars resemble road going sports cars, while the prototype class follows suit more inline with it's title. Most races are 2 3/4 Hours in length with the exception of the famous Daytona 24HR and the Watkins Glen 6HR during the 12 event season. All of the events are televised on The Speed Channel, with particular viewing times depending on the event, seen here with the full schedule: Rolex

The 458GT car is a GT3 version of the road going Ferrari 458, modified to meet the class rules to equalize performance with the likes of Porsche, BMW, Audi, and Camaro. The 458GT has a 450+ Horsepower V8, and uses a pneumatically operated paddle shift gear box but has no ABS and no Traction control, putting a high demand on driver precision.

The moment I met Jeff, I knew he was something special. I feel he’s one of the best young drivers out there today. His racing skills are amazing, so it was no surprise to us Team Ferrari took notice” said TNVC President and CEO Victor Di Cosola. “Our ultimate goal was and is to bring awareness to the tactical arenas in the form of professional motor racing establishments. Ferrari and TNVC have much in common as both companies strive to bring the best products to market year after year.”

Man, that is just so awesome for Jeff, we are hardcore racers ourselves so we know how proud of him you are, Vic. It was fun meeting him at the Shot Show and talking over the hundreds of races we've been in with him. I will be keeping up with what tracks he is on and when he makes it to Barber again we will try to come take the RV up there for the weekend and camp out. We love racing at Barber, it is one of the toughest tracks in the SouthEast besides my personal most difficult track, Road Atlanta.

Loved the photos of Jeff and the the Red Horse he's riding too!

Jeff just emailed me why he could not talk long... "Thanks Vic, sorry I had to rush off the phone. Trying to get food for 12 people and I am the proficient English speaker"

God knows us Italians love to eat! :-D

Congrats Jeff, that is some very nice work, bet feeding all those Italians was tougher than taking 2nd......

Lady Interviewer: Do you drink every day?

    Man: Yes.

Lady Interviewer: How much a day?

Man: Around 3 six-packs starting at noon.

Lady Interviewer: How much does a 6-pack cost?

Man: Roughly $10.00 at a deli.

Lady Interviewer: And how long have you been drinking like that?

    Man: 15 years.

Lady Interviewer: So with a six-pack costing $10.00, and you consuming 3 six-packs a day, you are spending roughly $900 each month. In one year, you would then be spending $10,800, correct?

    Man: Correct.

Lady Interviewer: If in 1 year you spend $10,800 on beer, not accounting for inflation, 15 years puts your spending roughly $162,000; correct?

    Man: Correct.

Lady Interviewer: Did it ever occur to you that if you did not drink for the last 15 years, you could have bought a Ferrari?

    Man: Do you drink?

    Lady Interviewer: No.

Man: So where's your fuckin' Ferrari?

Awesome! That's a dream come true! I'm a big Ferrari fan! The guy in the picture looks exactly like me, but obviously isn't, since cameras aren't allowed in the factory.

That's awesome. I saw him at Texas Motor Speedway during GTA event and thought to my self that this wasn't a shooting event, lol. Didn't race him as I was in the enthusiast class. Wish him all the best.

Thanks mann. Btw., love your screen name! Hilarious movie. Unless that is your real name? <Gulp> ;-)

Be sure to tune in this weekend at Speed Channel for Jeff's race or if you're visiting Road Atlanta! Should be a great race at that venue.

    Vic

That highspeed blind corner chicane after going uphill from pit lane is a bitch, stay on your line, the rest of the track is awesome though, love the elevation changes too.

Have a great safe race Jeff! RA is a blast!

Thanks guys! Road Atlanta went extremely well for team TNVC and Scuderia Corsa, my co-driver was ill 24 hours prior to the start of the race so the plan became me to run 2 stints (tire sets and fuel tanks) taking the lions share of the driving load. I led every lap but 2 at the beginning for 1 Hour and 50 minutes (65 laps in total), ultimately handing the car over to my team mate in p1 and finishing p3. The track was very challenging with lots of blind sections needing commitment at over 100 mph lap after lap, but GREAT fun to drive. This finish was our second podium in a row, and now the team is now leading the championship into our long break.

Next up is the Detroit GP on June 1st at Belle Isle street circuit, and we cannot wait!

    Watkins Glen 6 Hr Recap:

TNVC driver Jeff Westphal scores a top 5 for Scuderia Corsa in the 6 Hours of the Glen. This event was round 6 of the championship, and round 2 of the North American Endurance Championship, a sports car contest where the best from Audi, Ferrari, Chevrolet, BMW, and Porsche were in a flat out sprint.

The track in the fingerlake region of New York is a 3+ mile natural terrain road course, famous for quick changing weather, which did not disappoint. “I always enjoy racing here, the circuit is so much fun to drive, yet challenging when it becomes wet at a moments notice…” said Jeff. “The #63 Ferrari was a little bit out of position from where we hoped to be when I took over, so I was pushing to try and make up some spots on track before I handed the car over to my team mate.” Explained the Ferrari pilot.

After starting 5th, Scuderia Corsa’s 5th place finish wasn’t ideal, but scored some much needed points looking at the big picture of the championship. “I would like to thank the team, all of our sponsors, and fans for the continued support in our quest for the maiden victory. We’re a new team, yet we’ve shown promise all year so I think it’s a matter of time before one goes completely our way!”

    Catch Jeff and the #63 Ferrari 458GT at Indianapolis Motor Speedway July 26th live on Speed channel, or follow us at;
