Just came across V Seven. They make some crazy lightweight ARs.

16" barrel AR15 @ 4 lb 10.5 oz
AR10 @ ~6lbs

Anyone know how their quality is? Are they reliable? Accurate?

Dunno if I would want to take one into battle, but it might be a good hunting gun.

How much of the gun weight is in the lower? I've been toying with the idea of a 243 wssm upper from Dtech. I do wish they could go on a little diet though. I wonder if Mike at Dtech could use any of the V Seven parts to make a 243 wssm upper.

I use a lot of their titanium parts. Haven't bought any of their receivers, but if they are as good as the parts, it will be a solid rifle.

I do want a large frame from them, but unfortunately it's like the 5th thing on my list of stuff to spend money on.

Their stuff is top notch. I don't like their complete rifles because they have no adjustable gas block options which in lightweight especially is crucial. Otherwise, great rifles and especially parts.

I’m surprised to learn their 16” 5.56/223 barrel weighs less than 24oz and the same length Proof carbon is 27oz.

Alot of the shorter proof stuff is profiled thicker where a normal barrel can be turned way down so on the short stuff if you compare similar profiles there is a weight difference but a feather weight ar barrel will weight less than a proof
