Its today. I graduated in 68. I consider myself really lucky not to have gone to that hell hole.. But I surely honor all the brothers who did. ArmyJerry, Gunfighter, Greg Langelius are 3 I know of. Glad you all made it back. RIP those who did not. If you havent visited the memorial I suggest it. Its a powerful and humbling experience.

While it was before my time and even my father missed to party by a few years as a Marine, I truly am appreciative of those that served. No matter if you chose to go or were called upon by Uncle Sam, you went. I am thankful for every soldier that has worn a uniform of the United States but I feel as though I have an extra sense of indebtedness to those who served in south east Asia. Not because service provided in other campaigns were of lesser value but because of the way your country treated you. You have been burdened with the experience of war and came home to a largely ungrateful populace. You have not been given the respect, honor or healthcare that is deserved. For that, even though I was not of this world till much later on, I am deeply sorry and ashamed. While I know that words are often merely just that, I hope that my sincerity isn't lost when I say "thank you".
