Vintage, non-sniper, Weatherby Mk V with Bausch & Lomb Balvar 8 scope

I have acquired a Weatherby Mk V in 300Wby with a Bausch & Lomb Balvar 2-8x scope in an externally adjustable mount. I am thinking about using the action to build a LR 300WM, but don't want tear it apart if its a valuable or collectable setup.
Any information, thoughts, or opinions are appreciated.
