Hey guys I have a Weatherby Vanguard Varmint Special in 223,
I get great groups out of this gun but the stock is crap, what do you guys recommend for this action?
I dont mind paying for more accuracy but dont want to go overboard on a starter rifle.
Any pics would help too, post your weatherby/Howa 1500

Re: Weatherby /Howa 1500 stock

Isn't it already in a Hogue Overmolded stock? Most of the Howas I've seen of late (including mine) are. Apart from feeling a little funny, they're a well-designed stock.

Bell and Carlso medalist for a decent price. I have used
several of those, my favorite so far on Howas are a Manners
T4.

What kind of barrel does this rifle have on it? Heavy barrel? Pencil barrel?

It's going to make a difference on stock recommendations

In that case, I would recommend a B&C Medalist as well. I have them on several of my rifles and am very pleased with the performance. Makes for a platform that's a tad on the heavy side, but shooters nevertheless.
