Mainly starting this out of boredom and the fact that I'm trying to kind of cut down on what I'm carrying for matches. Thought maybe seeing what people around the sport are and are not carrying might help me cut down on what I have or help new shooters decide what they need to carry.

Right now my match kit includes:

Kifaru Shape Charge
Rain Gear
Walsh Ammo Holder 120 rds
Binos
Match book holder
2-4 Mags
Kestrel
Pint Size Game Changer
Tripod
bleeder kit
Wrist Coach/Sidewinder
rifle kuhl
spare batteries for kester and rifle kuhl
Sunscreen
Bugspray
Aspirin
Bandaides

The last match that I attended was a rimfire match but a lot of the gear is the same save for the ammo and magazines.

Rifle support:
AG Game Changer
AG Fat Bag - Large
TAB Gear Rear Bag V2
Atlas CAL
AG PRS Sling
Desmond DCF-432 w/ Desmond Ballhead

Observation/Ballistics:
Sig Kilo1400 RF
Kestrel 5700 Elite
Hawk Hill Dope Holder
Painter's Tape
Sharpie Marker

Ammo:
TAB Gear SAC
2-4 Mags

Health and Safety:
Ear Pro (Electronic Muffs & Foamie Back Ups)
Eye Pro
Knee Pads
Sun Screen
Small First Aid Kit
TAB Gear Bleeder Kit

Comfort Items:
Wet Weather Top & Bottom (Depending on conditions)
Mechanix Gloves
Water
1-2 Clif Bars

Usually, all that gets packed in a Eberlestock Gunslinger II or Eagle Industries 3-day Assault Pack.

In my soft case I'll also usually stash an extra ECI and my took kit. The tool kit is really the components from an Otis Sniper Cleaning Kit with some additional bore brushes for my 6.5CM and some pics. Also in there is the Fix It Sticks All-In-One driver, assorted bits, some L-wrenches, and other tools for torquing and resetting zero stops. I think there's some spare parts in there for the AR and Remington 700 too, just basic stuff. Luckily, I've never had to use it for myself but I've saved a couple guys at matches when they had various issues.

I think some pics of these backpacks and how there loaded would be good too! I'm trying to figure out what configuration pack I want and the best way to load it.

Lots of good info! Looking forward to more pics. I’m trying to decide on a new pack. I’ve been looking at the Arc’teryx Assault 30, Kifaru Shaped Charge and LBX Titan.

I’ve been buying organizer pouches and trying to consolidate my gear. I want it organized and easy to assess. My current bag is a pain because it doesn’t clamshell open, it’s a a old style half zip access from the top pack. Everything has to get stacked in perfectly and it’s annoying.

My personal experience has been that while packs that open up clamshell style are great for initial packing and look great in pics, once I get out in the dirt, mud, wet grass, the reality is I'm going to be top loading the pack anyway to keep the straps out of the dirt. This is why my trusty Eagle A-III has been hanging in there for a long time now, it's stupid simple, comfy, and with some organizer pouches it's still functional. My dream pack is a Mystery Ranch 3-day pack.

I've cut back on what I carry even further for our area matches. Medkit has been replaced with a belt mounted blow out kit. Switched back to just the ammo boxes that Alpha sends with their brass instead of novels. Frees up a lot more space.
