Re: what's in your range bag?

9inch paper plates and the Orange adhesive stickers. A good friend taught me that. Makes great cheap targets that staple up well and easy to record data on plate afterwards. Would also recommend some 550 cord, sometimes use it to tether targets or stands, can make a good shooting rest if suspended correctly.

Re: what's in your range bag?

Sounds like you have most all of it covered. I carry a full range bag, as well as my complete tool/cleaning kit. But I'm fortunate enough to be able to back my truck right up to the line and flip the tailgate down so everything is handy. I probably carry a lot more than necessary...don't usually use most of it. But I'm an Eagle scout (Be prepared) and it's come in handy more than once when someone else had an issue. The only thing i can think of not on your list is a roll of paper towels or some cleaning rags.

Re: what's in your range bag?

Alot depends on what kind of shooting you're doing. You might throw in:

Sunblock
Feedlip tool
Extra 9 volt battery for the timer, if you shoot USPSA or IDPA
Rolls of black, brown, and white pasties depending on what targets you're shooting
Spraypaint for steel
Granola bars and water

If you're a coffee drinker, check out the TherMax line of products from Thermos/Nissan, they're excellent.

Or where your going. Best to have a first aid kit that can do a variety of things. If you plan to make a day of it then water and some food. On really hot cloudless days (most of the summer) I bring out a tarp that and set it up usin two poles and the back of my truck, giving some shade. Everyone is going to have something thats diffrent. The way you use your time, and location you plan to be at will dictate what you need. Prior problems you previously had, but could not address because you didnt bring _______ along will prepare you for the next time you go out.

Re: what's in your range bag?

Range finder, chamber flags, extra pair of glasses (reading and shooting), pins and markers, and notebook are items I carry in my range bag as well as many of the above mentioned items.

Part of the online training.

The point is that what do you need (NEED) to make the shot.

Rifle
Ammo
Mag (if needed)
Dope
Bipod (if needed)
Rear bag (if needed)

the point is that several of the items that are pointed out become soooooo much extra weight and crap that never get used.
