Where does the Rem 700 XCR Tactical Long Range fall in the spectrum?

I seem to read a lot about the 700P and Milspec 5R, but not so much about the XCR TLR. It looks like it comes with the 40x trigger and a coated barrel rather than plain stainless. B&C aluminum bedded stock. It also commands a higher price point. Any experience with these? Are they better than the others or just a cool sounding name and jacked up price? I'm thinking 300WM for caliber.

I have one that im trying to get rebarreled right now. It shot ok with the factory barrel. most groups were about moa. I cant compare with the 5r or 700p cause I haven't had them but I do love my xcr

I have owned 3 varmint contour Remington 700 factory rifles in 308. A "Mil-spec 5R", an XCR Tactical LR (26" barrel), and an AAC-SD. The XCR Tactical LR was the best shooting of the 3, but was the only one I ran Tubb's Final Finish on when new, which may have had some effect. By best I mean it was consistently 0.6 MOA with good loads, the other two are consistent 0.75 MOA rifles. I think with factory Remingtons accuracy is luck of the draw.

The 40X trigger of the XCR was better than the Xmark Pro that came in the other two, that's about the only advantage I can find. The rest are personal preference and what your needs dictate. I traded the XCR for an AR15 , but was happy with it.

My 300 win mag XCR shoots great in a Cadex/Drake chassis, with the right load its under .5" at 100. And around .75" with everything else i put through it. I haven't really had a chance to stretch it far yet, maybe tomorrow if the weather cooperates. The thing I really liked about it is the finish, its super tough and the bolt is super smooth.

OK here you go, it has the Coolie brake on it and it is pretty obnoxious but oh well, it shoots good.

I bought one in .300WM when they first came out. It was a nice rifle and shot pretty good. I didn't like the lighter bullets as much (around 1 MOA), but the 180's and up shot very well (0.5-0.75 MOA pretty consistently). The coating was very tough and the trigger was good. No complaints from me.
