Random question for those working in the legal profession.

Howdy,

I understand that there's a structure for folks being called to jury duty- either their employer has a corporate level policy stating that they will cover the salaries of any employee called to serve in a jury OR jurors are entitled to some token amount of compensation (IDK $40 or whatever a day and maybe lunch). Where my question comes from- what financial assurances do witnesses have for being called to court? Does it vary from state to state, municipality to municipality?

To put another way- let's say I'm "Bob" and I work at a local gas station. Just outside of the windows, I notice that there's a murder that occurs right there in the parking lot because the gas station is in a bad part of town. I clearly witnessed the murder occur and the gas station has surveillance cameras that recorded said event. I get something in the mail saying I need to appear in court to testify- BUT I'm a witness and not a juror. My corporate overlords that own the gas station only have a policy for jury duty but "Bob" is ordered to court to testify as a witness.

In that scenario, does "Bob" have any financial assurance for having to take a day (or more) off of work? Clearly working at a gas station in the 'bad' part of town would suggest that "Bob" doesn't have the financial means to afford a day off of work to make his financial ends "meet". Anywho- I was just curious how this situation normally plays out for those on the Hide with experience in this situation. Is "Bob" SOL and possibly not make his electric payment that month because of the court order or does the court protect the financial loss of such witnesses?

Suppressors Reasons not to buy Silencerco Omega 300?

Edit: changed title to Omega 300 not the Omega 30. Based on their website the Omega 300 is the only one available.

I am in motion to buy a “one and done” 30 cal can.

I know better than to ask what is the “best” can because that is subjective that comes with 20K different choices.

It will be used on bolt action only rifles. I only have 30 cal and under (308).

It will probably never see use on the 308, and will be used on a 223, 6.5 Grendel, 6 arc, and a 6.5 creed. I may one day get a 300 blackout bolt rifle.

Application will be range enjoyment/plinking etc and hunting. I will 99% never use it in a PRS comp because I prefer my brake for that.

It’s seems to be just a plain ole good can. Any reason not to get one and go a different route?

I already have a good Rimfire can so hopefully this will be my one and only do all centerfire suppressor.
Thank you

Can you see my problem

This is what I have to fight every other day ...

1716402087463.png

Email I got about an issue, and this is very Common, 99% this is exactly how people present stuff to me.

FYI,

I cannot look at your Private Messages without taking over the account, I can, but I don't. This system is not used to "spy" on people so I cannot see what you do all the time. I can literally hack your account, but I don't have spy features to quietly observe you.

A link to your private messages is not helpful, a screen shot is...

But tell me, could you solve this problem or at least answer it ?

When threads are deleted or someone just "disappears" we probably hit the SPAM button on them. If you casually report an account has "HACKED" which 50% of you are wrong is the Moderator is not searching and they just say, okay, whatever you say, that nukes the account too. lots of you casually report stuff as hacked when you should really mind your own business. or at least frame it with less certainty. Tire kickers are often reported as hacked.

Feedback Scam Alert! TitaniumBlue and Patriots1884

I believe the real user of Patriots1884 was hacked and then account switched to TitaniumBlue. I was involved in pm’s with Patriots1884. Mid communication, our entire pm thread was deleted. I was then contacted by TitaniumBlue asking for payment. In messaging with TitaniumBlue, wording was different. Look out! Would love to talk to an admin about this

Men and women of Snipershide….I need some help

I saw this thing today. Never seen one like it running around in the wild. It stood on two legs and it was tall. Was wide, very wide in the shoulder, and then went to an extremely thin waist. It wore those pants that women wear when they are showing that they need to loose 50 pounds. But this critter or vermin, had not one drop of fat (or muscle) on its hind legs. These pants stopped at the knees. Then it had a pair of knee high tight socks. Oh, it had its hair tied in a bun on top of its head. (Not like women who when they have a bun its on the back)

Now before anyone jokes about it, it had a sign on the back of its car, saying “I love 308’s”)

Now in seriousness. Y’all think it was a fellow or a girl? I have never seen anything like this, and I thought I was well traveled and experienced.

Firearms WTS: Blued Rem 700 223 action. Old as fuuuuuu.... Maybe.

SPF

Pains me to do this as I really wanted a cool project for the future.

Used blued Remington action with 223 bolt face. Just action and bolt.

Bought this used as a build with a .222 barrel and took it apart. Been sitting in my safe for a looong time. Normal wear and tear for its age but no damage or abuse.

Pic below. Again it's not a full rifle any more.

ETA: After more research it looks like this is a 1973-1974 action. Pre drilled and tapped for a peep.

Asking Price: $500 shipped

Payment methods: PP F&F, Venmo, Zelle, Cashapp. You cover all fees!

Shipping method: USPS Priority with tracking.

Solus bolt issues

I've been having a issue with my Aero Solus bolt dragging on my Magpul Pro700 chassis. The issue is that as I'm running my bolt the firing pin will rotate into the "fire" position protruding my firing pin and preventing a round to chamber. So far this has caused me a minimum of 4 stages between my last two matches. I am then forced to pull my bolt out on the clock and physically rotate my firing pin back into the proper position. I can never recreate the malfunction though and it only happens in the middle of a stage which is driving me nuts. Tried calling Aero but they only have the "chat with customer service" option which is another headache lol. Just seeing if anyone else is experiencing similar issues?
