I am looking for a top tier piece of glass to complete my custom 6.4# .300 PRC built on a Defiance AnTi action. This rifle will primarily be used for backpack elk hunting in the mountains. I just purchased a ZCO 5-27 intending to put it on this rifle. While the scope is awesome, it is way too big and heavy. I'm going to return it and try something else. I am currently waffling between a NX8 4-32 or an S&B PMII 3-20. The NX8 is lighter, cheaper, and has better magnification range. Presumably, the S&B has better glass and has a smaller form factor. Is it worth an extra 4 ounces for the S&B? They likely both have bomb proof reliability. Which of those scopes would the Hide recommend and what other options should I be looking at? Is the March 4.5-28 a viable alternative? My ideal list of requirements is below.

Weight- <32 ounces
Ideal mag range- 5-25x
FFP
Target turrets with capped/ lockable windage
Illumination is required
Reticle that allows me to hold for wind

Swapping barrels on my relatively new (sub 600rds) AIAT this morning and noticed this spot on the face of one of the bolt lugs? It looks like someone had hit it with a roll pin punch. It has transferred the shape of the spot to the barrel but there is no burr on the bolt or barrel. It is not raised or anything and doesn’t snag a fingernail or razor blade on either.

Vice President Kamala Harris agreed on Thursday to debate former President Donald Trump. It appears the campaigns have not yet agreed upon a date and network.

Jason Miller, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign, told Axios on Thursday he was unsure if the previously scheduled debate on September 10 would occur, but he noted there would be another debate and that there “should be multiple debates.”
“Not only will there be another debate, but there should be multiple debates,” Miller told Axios. “We do think there should be some diversification in the outlets for who hosts a debate, but I think the public would be sold short if we only did one debate against Kamala Harris in the general election.”
Miller suggested Spanish-American outlets could be a part of the event.
Fox News proposed to both campaigns on Wednesday that the candidates meet on September 17 in Pennsylvania with anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum moderating.

USMCSGT0331 seen the post and with his much appreciated knowledge and feedback it was obviously fake.
I’m grateful to have him in this group otherwise how would the community know if they are being scammed or not.
I returned the base and finally received a full refund.
Nine months ago I spoke with the owner about purchasing some original M40 ,Commerative and Limited Edition parts that they said they had.
After months of waiting I finally decided to settle for what was supposed to be an Original Redfield 40X M40 scope base total cost of $223 for the base only and did not include windage or mounting screws upon arrival.
Needless to say those parts were never made available for one reason or another.
Do they actually have the parts I don’t know.
Maybe they go to the highest bidder.
Just wanted to share my experience with the community.
The base marked 40 X is what I had received.
Be cautious and get plenty of proof regarding authenticity of items sold as originals.

About 5 years ago I bought a bunch of Hornady 5.56 73 grain ELD M ammo. It shot under an MOA in the Stag Varminter with the 5.56 chambered 24” 1:8 barrel.


I didn’t see any of the usual pressure signs so I bought a shitload more.

I took it out recently and tested it again with a different rifle with Krieger 1:7 24” barrel, 5.56 chamber.


It grouped about the same as before. No flattened or cratered primers.

Is this ammo too hot? Am I prematurely wearing out components?

We all know term limits would cure 75% of the shit these embedded ticks(see Pelosi,McConnel,Schumer,Nadler etc)cause but what else would it take to get the Govt back into the hands of the legal citizens. was thinking after seeing how much each campaign has made since the assassination attempt and Joe dropping out that a campaign donation cap alla MLB salary cap would be in order.Each campaign would have a limit of??? 50 million they could spend on their respective candidates for President. I have not checked the numbers but i am sure the present spending on a Presidential race far far exceeds this amount.Use your money to target states you have to win and to mobilize the workers to spread your agenda ideas.Its obscene what they spend on one race which only proves that the people on the giving end expect a large return on their investment.No more Soros or Koch brothers or any big donors influencing campaigns.What else could right this ship besides the obvious.

I purchased this from another hide member years ago. This was prior to one of the recent reiterations of the hide and an old account. Previous owner had 200rnds through it and I did load development and shot 4 local prs matches with it. I decided to chase velocity in the 6mm world and this has spent the time since then as a hunting rifle. In other words it sat in the safe for the past 3 or so years. The only bullets I ran through it were Berger 140 Hybrids at 2750. I settled on a load that got me sub moa and rolled onward. Great shooting rifle.
