7prc vs 7saum for Sako 85 Long

EDIT3: Primarily looking to see if anyone has first hand experience with 7 SAUM feeding reliably in a Sako 85 with factory double stack long action mag / action at this point. Everything else is pretty much figured out.

See post #8 for feeding experience with 7RM as well.

EDIT4: Missed the obvious answer... oops. Thread resolved. Will post results later if people want to know.
------------
Not building immediately, but trying to decide between a 7PRC and 7SAUM for a Sako 85 hunting rifle and would like feedback on 3 things:
Key question - 1. Will 7 SAUM run in a Sako 85 long action (with Sako long action mags, originally 7RM). Anyone with experience know if 7 SAUM runs / feeds reliably in these?

2. How much of a difference is there in velocity between the two (assume 24"/24.5" barrel for both)? Can't find a lot of mfg published 7 PRC data, but looking online it seems a 180gr bullet (180 just as an arbitrary example) will go about 2800-2900 in SAUM and 2900-3000 in PRC?
3. Is one significantly easier to reload for or run on vs the other (ex: accepts more powders, wider nodes, etc.) or easier to keep running in a rifle (ex: doesn't need to be cleaned every 50 rounds to prevent carbon ring, oddities with brass, etc.)

Edit: Forgot to mention, lack of factory ammo availability for both is not a concern (reloading). Already have 7SAUM brass / components / dies (i.e. intermittent 7 SAUM component availability will not be a problem). Do not have 7 PRC anything yet, so if it's all "close enough" and 7 SAUM will feed reliably in a Sako 85 LA, then I'm probably going to go SAUM just to save myself money on additional equipment.

Edit2:
Plan on using copper / solids in the 150 - 170 weight range.

Shitty Day

This morning I was moving my Jeep and ran over my old Weiner Dog. He was 15, real deaf and nearly blind. His official name was Diesel but he had a few names and Weiner Dog or WD is what we called him most of the time. We buried him down in the pasture under what we call The L:eek:ve Tree, an old oak with two trunks. I can see his grave from the house. They sure don't live long enough anyway but, damn..I ran over him.

Ford Phucking you over again 🤪

It wasn’t that long ago Ford found themselves getting backlash because they were selling your driving habits to your insurance.

Now they want to send it straight to the fuzz.

Idk why anyone would buy their stuff moving forward.

Giffords Group To Spend $15 Million To Support Harris And Anti-Gun Candidates

  • Gun control activists are ramping up spending to elect presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris president and help Democrats capture the House of Representatives in November.

GIFFORDS, a gun violence prevention group founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, on Friday announced a $15 million campaign targeting battleground state voters. The ad buy is for television, digital advertising and direct mail, as well as for sending Giffords and surrogates to stump for Harris and down-ballot candidates who support tougher gun laws.

"With just over 100 days until election day, GIFFORDS will redouble its efforts to support champions who are committed to saving lives — including ensuring that Vice President Kamala Harris becomes the next president of the United States," said Emma Brown, executive director for GIFFORDS.

The multi-million dollar campaign will focus on swing states like Michigan and Arizona for the presidential election, and swing congressional districts in California and New York, which could determine control of the House of Representatives next year, NBC News first reported.

Rifle Scopes Form and Function of MOA and MIL

Form and Function of MOA and MIL

TLDR

  • MIL single-digit rounding is more comfortable and faster.
  • Dialing MILs is simpler.
  • Speed Dope is useful in many applications.
  • MILS align to range much simpler than MOA
  • WIND in MILs is far easier than in MOA.

Introduction

When it comes to long-range precision shooting, the debate between MIL and MOA scopes can feel as old as time. Articles continue to pop up saying the exact same thing, never daring to step out of the well-worn track of last week’s article on the same subject. Most of these articles are filled with mathematical gobbledygook, and others don’t dare offend one camp or the other. The common responses often leave so much to be desired that I find myself wishing I had the time back from reading the latest article to spend doing something more useful – like watching YouTube.

So instead of waiting for the next version of the exact same thing, we are going to write what we have wanted to read but never found. Let’s break down the origins, modern applicability, and practical advantages of MIL and MOA with the precision we expect from our rifles, and not leave ourselves saying “the wind screwed us” again.

Rifle Scopes NX8 1-8 Dissapointing?

I have an ATACR 1-8 and really like it (really like the new Fc-Dmx reticle). I’m wanting to outfit another 16” AR and really want another one .., but don’t want pay ATACR money though.

I really only use it on 8 power to be honest. How disappointed will I be with the NX8? I’ve read the eye box is horrible, 1 power is horrible ect ect ect

MTA in nYC

So after crying for years they are broke and seeing their redistribution congestion pricing plans go down the drain what is their next move.To give FREE MTA cards to teenagers in an attempt to, get this now, stop them from turnstile jumping and evading fares. You cannot make this shit up. We are now overpopulated with low life irresponsible losers who the government cant or wont control but would rather appease with other peoples money.I am betting by 2050 we will be a European/SouthAmerican socialist style nation.

Sidearms & Scatterguns I really like this safety

I saw a "shielded" 1911 safety on an Atlas and decided to try one on a regular 1911. Wow! This thing is great, it allows me to hit the safety without needing to be as precise on my thumb placement. It feels a bit like the safety on a sig sao. This one is DLC coated. It also rides high and allows for an immediately high grip. It does slightly interfere with the rear cocking serrstions but thats too be expected.

One small nit pick.
I wish it used a King style extended hammer pin.

Plinkin’ Ammo - 100 rounds per order

Cheap enough.
Sucks it’s 100 rounds per order, but 100 rounds is 100 rounds….. Go and make AJ proud.

Almost makes you wonder if it’s not eldest son being sold by some anti-2A group, considering the price and limited quantity per order, and country of origin. lol

That little voice

Does anyone else have that little voice inside their head thats saying'They will never allow Trump to win?" I am hearing it louder and louder now. When Joe was in there even before his debate performance I knew something was up but didnt think they would flip to Hairyass that quickly. They knew Joe might have lost all 50 states they way things were going so they were relying on one of Trumps legal cases to derail him. When that unraveled the Crooks maybe was a surprise but maybe not either way he failed so they pulled the rug out from under Joe and now Cumallova is in.What bothers me is they do internal polls so they kinda have an idea what will work or what may work OR what they will do to get it to work.I just dont see the real people behind the election letting Trump get anywheres near the WH not even if he pays for the tour.I hope I am wrong but since they were totally caught off guard in 2016 they have upped their game and the Repubs and RINOS are just sucking wind.
