Where to buy Sako?

I have been looking for dealers for Sako. I am interested in the s20 series for hunting. On the Sako website it lists their dealers except the ones I have called do not have Sako and do not know that they are listed as dealers. They do have Tikka. A couple of online outlets list them but not in stock. Anyone know of dealers that have stock?

The "I was there" thread. A discussion about concerts you've attended.

I was a bit of a late bloomer when it came to attending concerts. Growing up I was never allowed to go to any shows being in a devout Catholic family because of... let's just call them religious "reasons".

That said- I still remember my first concert, it was the "Pop Disaster" tour in... 2002(?). The headliner was Green Day (this was before the American Idiot album came out), the opening act was "Saves the DaY" and the mid act was the actual band I wanted to see above all else, Blink 182.

As time went on- I spent a considerable amount of my life as a self proclaimed concert whore. It used to be "pit tickets or bust" I was there when a mosh pit broke out at a Korn concert and we stood at attention in front of the 1st SGT because one had a broken collar bone & another had a black eye that looked like he went a round or two with Mike Tyson.

I was there when Papa Roach wasn't on the ticket but they did a surprise appearance in a concert opened by "Burn Halo" and headlined by "Avenged Sevenfold" I happened to pick the "right" bar that night after the show to have a few drinks with Avenged Sevenfold one on one and didn't realize that the whole time I was bullshitting with them they had a guy "inviting/snagging" every attractive woman in the bar to party with them in a reserved room upstairs (I was not invited upstairs with them and was left with the downstairs sausage party)

I saw "Flyleaf" in the Theatre of the Living Arts during a time when they were unknown and touring with "Smile Empty Soul" & "Cold". They were the opening act and this 5' nothing lead singer came out and we are all asking "WTF" and let me tell you this woman had some lungs on her. We ended up talking to the band afterwards and bought their CD literally out of the trunk of their car. We thought we'd get an invite to an afterparty because things were going so well- whelp it wasn't initially obvious but they're a christian rock band so... yeah that didn't work out.

I was there at the 3 Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Buckcherry concert. One of the best battle buddies you could have asked for wore a shirt with a stick figure depiction of a stripper on a pole with the text underneath saying "I support single moms" and a chick literally purchased the shirt off of his back in exchange for a concert T & some extra cash while our "DD" drowned himself in Jack & Cokes.

I remember when the roles reversed and I had to be "that" battle buddy for someone else. I had whored myself out often enough that I got "insider" offers from Live Nation. So during the Dark Horse Tour with Nickelback, Seether & Saving Able. That tour was sold out but I bought enough concert tickets by that point I was able to snag pit tickets last minute for my battle & me in Atlanta. I also met some folks that night in the Pit which put my life trajectory on a completely different path.

I was at Warped Tour (either '04 or '05) in Camden, NJ where it was so hot that they called the fire department in and they literally hosed down the crowd. Problem was this was all set up on a giant parking lot and the humidity that followed was unbearable. To this day I can no longer drink Powerade without it triggering a gag reflex. God that ended up being miserable towards the end.

I was there holding tickets to finally see Linkin Park in Hershey, PA after years of wanting to see them only to have Chester off himself shortly before that concert. That one hurt, not so much because of the tickets I had, but I just really liked Linkin Park & that left a hole in my life.

I was there to finally see the band Sevendust for the first time and being completely shocked that the lead singer was black. I saw Bowling for Soup at the same venue shortly afterwards and had the lead singer of the opening act want to pick a physical fight with me because I didn't give a crap about them/their band and just wanted to watch BFS.

Around 20 years or so ago- I was supposed to see the band Something Corporate, and the lead singer got diagnosed with cancer shortly afterwards.... fast forward 15 years or so ago, my wife's bestie won some sort of competition and got to meet Andrew McMahon in Harrisburg and she brought my wife along for her "+1" and I ended up with his autograph...that one meant an awful lot to me.

I could keep going on but I have a lot of stories with the concerts I've attended and how they've unexpectedly altered my life path. It's wild looking back how choosing to attend a concert would end up making such a profound difference in my life & the path I'd take afterwards.

Anyone else have a similar story/experience?

Accuracy International Rifle as a F-Class Rifle????

Can an Accuracy Internatonal rifle be set up to shoot F-Class competition.?I have an AI-AT and a AI-AX, both 308 with a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel also. I know this is not ideal. I have no illusions of being competitive,BUT, I am retired, in my 70's and not interested in buying another rifle. I would either use one of my barrels with muzzle brake removed or buy a new barrel specifically for this purpose. My goal, get to shoot at long ranges. and learn some wind reading skills.

Thanks for any advice.

Fishing Kayak recommendations.

I always said I'd get a boat when I moved to an environment that it would actually be worth it. Moved to Florida from Colorado just over a year ago and was considering getting a boat. But, boats are expensive and when I actually think about how I'd use that boat, I've come to the conclusion that I probably don't really want or need a full on boat. The only activities I see me doing in a boat is fishing and exploring the waterways. I had a kayak in Colorado that I'd do exactly that with and it was great. Easy to store, easy to launch, inexpensive, and was able to get into all the shallow, narrow areas I wanted to go. My only issue was that it was limited on space and I couldn't stand. It was around that time that fishing out of a kayak was becoming much more popular and the industry was beginning to build kayaks that were geared more towards fishing, i.e. stand up kayaks. Then the peddle drive kayaks started showing up. These piqued my interest but I began shooting more and fishing less. Now they've taken the paddle kayak to a new level with hybrid peddle/electric drives or full on electric drives. This is awesome because it gives me the ability to go much farther and stay out longer without getting tired and trolling much easier while handling the fishing rod.

So, who has a peddle/hybrid drive kayak and what do you recommend? Initially when these were just becoming popular, the Hobbies where the goto for peddle drive but in my recent research and the addition of electric powered drives the options have really opened up. At this point I'm really interested in the Old Towns offerings. I've seen a few others but Old Town seems to have the hybrid peddle drive/electric dialed in. Also, the kayak I did have was an Old Town Vapor and really liked the balance of space and efficiency for paddling.

The Old Town Sportsman Bigwater EDPL+ 132 has my attention. I'd prefer a 10 foot kayak but there doesn't seem to be an option in the EDPL+ just the PDL. Does the EDPL+ offer much of an advantage over the EDP? What other brands should I consider?

Pics for fun.

Old Town Vapor. My original kayak.

Between 4 options…

Hey guys, I’m trying to pick between the following 4 scopes for my SPR build. I’d like something not only capable, but super solid because I’m not that gentle on my gear. Please let me know which you’d run. If you have better options around the $1,500 range, please share.

Vortex Razor HD Gen II 3-18x50

Burris Xtreme Tactical XTR III 5.5-30x56

Steiner T6Xi 3-18x56

Leupold Mark 4HD 4.5-18x52

CZ457 light strikes, high power spring or modified firing pin?

My CZ457 is experiencing light strikes with this new case of Eley Match. I think Eley might have changes something on new productions, the case head looks noticeable flatter and wider than the old ones.

My question is, to get better ignition, should I get a higher power firing pin spring or the modified firing pin based on y'alls experience?

Thanks!

My 6GT AR-10

Just thought I would share my recent project that I've been working on.

I've had this rifle for quite some time now and when the barrel finally gave up I felt like I wanted to do something different. I've recently started competing in some PRS matches and thought it might be fun to see what I could do with my gas gun, so I decided to go with 6GT for my cartridge choice.

The rifle started life as an Armalite AR-10T with a 24" kreiger barrel. And no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't get the performance out of it that I felt like it was capable of. And for that reason I've been on this mission to make this thing shoot the way I think it should. So starting with the barrel, I ordered a Bartlein blank and a Lija barrel extension. I took the time to smooth and polish the extension and then took everything to my well trusted friend and gunsmith (as I don't have my own lathe yet) to get cut and chambered. We had decided to go with a 24" length and turned the shoulder for the gas block to rifle+1. I was beyond happy with the job. But, one thing we found along the way that wasn't until about 100 rounds went through was that with the eld-m's I had no problem chambering and cycling, but when my big lot of bergers came in they would refuse to feed.
The culprit turned out to be the bevel around the back of the chamber. It was a standard bevel nothing really wrong except what would happen is the red tips of the eld's would deflect just enough to help it kick itself into the chamber. Once I started loading the solid tipped bergers they would stop dead in their tracks straight into the back of the barrel just below the bevel. We took it back off and reprofiled the bevel and problem solved.

As much as I love my Armalite, it is painful to try and find compatible parts at times. But I did manage to find a barrel nut and handguard that I liked and would work from Odin Works. I also ordered an Area 419 arca rail for the bottom of the handguard which I have been very happy with.
Other upgrades on the list are:
SJC Titan muzzle brake
Odin Works adjustable gas block
Odin Works adjustable buffer
Ambidextrous safety
Radian raptor charging handle
Magpul PRS gen 3 stock
Ergo vertical super grip
And a tract toric scope and mount
I'm currently still running the factory match trigger that I spent a fair amount of time smoothing and tuning, but I think it's going to be replaced soon with a TT diamond.
And then full Cerakote that we did in house

I'm currently working on load development with 109 bergers and varget, CCI 450, and I have alpha brass but I have not started using it yet.
I know I'm missing a bunch of things but I'll try to keep it updated if anyone is interested.
I have many more photos of the process and project that I'll continue to add.
Thanks
