For sale is my AXMC package with grip upgrade. This rifle is capable of shooting any cartridge from 6.5/308 all the way to .338 and everything in between with a quick change barrel system that only requires a Allen wrench (which conveniently stored in the buttstock).

The rifle is currently configured as a 6.5cm with a 24 in barrel. The package includes the GTAC AR conversion kit which allows you to change the grip to any AR pattern grip, the original AXMC grip(with hardware), 2 short action AXSR/AXMC mags and 2 mag carriers for these mags, the short action mag adaptor which allows use of short action AW mags, a department of techne bag rider, the original AI bag rider, a small firing pin 308 bolt and a large firing pin (unfired) 308 bolt.

The small firing pin bolt and barrel have about 400 rounds through them.

I'm getting itchy feet, so it's time to start planning a road trip. I want to see Alaska. It will be nearly 7000 miles roundtrip by the time I factor in excursions. I'm aiming for September. With any luck, this tariff situation will have settled down by then and all they'll hate me for is being Califorian. I'm used to that. There will be several challenges I can foresee.

• My Akita, Shiloh will be coming with me. That means getting health certificates...etc.
• My Driver's license is up for renewal in September, so I need to get that done as early as possible because I'll need the new license with me.
• Carrying handguns across Canada ain't happening. Long guns might be possible, but it depends on a lot of "Things" I can't control. Best plan of action may be to just buy a Guide Gun or something similar at the first Alaskan town I reach. (Tok) It'll make a better souvenir than a t-shirt or coffee mug, am I right? On my return trip through Tok, I've already found a business that specializes in shipping guns back down to greater 48. In the meantime, I've already picked up a couple of big cans of bear spray.
• I think my F-250 will be my best vehicle for the trip. I've already spoke with a localized and tamed Snow Mexican who's made this trip before, and she assures me that diesel will be easy to find going thru Canada. Looking on the map, average distance between communities stays below 300 miles. That's well within the range of my fuel tank. I'll carry extra tanks just in case. I also don't plan to go pass any community without tanking up first.
• Being in Alaska on, or close to the Equinox will mean cold nights and maybe cold days. I can prepare for that. It will also mean less mosquitoes and a better chance of seeing Northern Lights.

Is there something else I should be planning for, doing or not doing? I've never been to Alaska before, and I'll be in some remote country with just my dog for backup.

I don't plan on hunting or fishing on this trip. But whatever I learn on this trip may well lead to a focused hunting/fishing trip in the future.

Any tips, cautions or suggestions appreciated.

I started shooting precision back in 2008 and got my first custom 308 from Jared Joplin in '09. Since then, the sport became industry and there's all kinds of new gear and calibers. My god, I know we needed better ballistics than the 30-06 and 308 but have we gone overboard? To each his own but man, it's hard to see the roles all of these calibers play beyond niche shooting matches, and it's hard to believe the industry will sustain those calibers in years to come. I guess this is how its always been, noting all the Winchester rifle rounds that have come and gone. Still, it seems like companies will have to trim their product lines at some point. For what it's worth, I fully recognize that some of the new calibers are vast improvements; I am enjoyer of both the 6.5G and 6.5CM.

Would love to hear your take on whether the industry will sustain all this "innovation."

Looking for advice on 8208 xbr from veterans who load with it. Loading only for gas guns 2 of which i am pushing for accuracy 223 and 308. I read many people having success with it. Loading 69gr and 77gr in 223. 168gr and 175gr in 308. Have TAC for 223 and TAC, IMR 4895 and Ar comp as well. Would I be stupid not to try 8208 xbr. I read its very versatile across both calibers. It is a clean or dirty burning powder.

Why do all navy seals just talk down on everything other seals have done? I've read the book and I know he's a congressman and that's all I really know about him. Seems like a great American doing a million better things for the country than 99 percent of everyone else. Do these guys in the video have a right talking shit on Luttrell?

Getting ready to start the 6 ARC build so I can play with the different bullet weights and speeds, I am gonna pair this build with a gas gun so I can look at the progression from gasser to bolt in the 6 arc space.

My Zeus build is on a Zermatt Matterhorn stock which is just crazy nice.
The barrels are being spun up by Bugholes as we speak for some Terminus PreFit Action

I have a 20" and 24" barrel coming so can I can experiment with the shorter barrels in the 6 arc space as they intended but also a longer barrel to get the speed, in the end it may require a 26" to get it right for comps, but I think with the factory bullets we have a potential to bridge the gap in cost to play, correctly.

With Hornady having a :

105gr at 2750, we know this is probably too slow, it repeats the Valkyrie numbers but with a 6mm so...

Then they have the 103 ELDX which is 2800, might be the right first try, the speed is correct.

Finally for factory loads i am lookin at, the 80gr Varmint load 3000fps, this might be the ticket considering the results we are seeing with the 100gr 65CM. The 100gr 65CM is bad on paper, great on steel, so at 3k, the 80gr load might be the ticket
