So, Last night, I put in on the Char Griller charcoal grill with side firebox. I had a fire going in the firebox with chopped mesquite wood. Smoked really slow for about 7 hours then set in a cold oven. I had am aluminum pan with water in it in the main chamber.


We have had that 13" x 9" roasting for more than 30 years. It's one pan big enough to fit my meat in.

As always, total strangers from this awesome community step forward and offer whatever assistance they can when needed. I can’t begin to describe how blessed people have been because of your generosity over the years. This isn’t everything but some of the more notable ones.

1) new projectors for my old church I grew up at: they were able to purchase and install brand new projectors and screens as they updated technology in the church. A donor heard about the sale I was having and matched what put in and you guys donated.

2) my friends dad, Jeff, had emergency Brain surgery when they discovered a brain tumor. Although he ultimately passed away way too young at 61 years old, the surgery bought him 7 more months with his family. They greatly appreciate you guys and the way you helped regardless of having no idea who they were.

3) my friends kid was able to attend the special needs camp this summer. He is a young boy who has an amputated leg below the knee and was absolutely ecstatic he was able to go to this. Thanks again!

4) my dog had his stomach flip and I had to move some stuff because I was trying to close on a house this week and my lender would panic if I dropped 8k+. My sister offered to cover the surgery and let me pay her back after closing. I had several members offer to just donate to his surgery without even buying anything. I really appreciate the gesture.

So…anyone who lives in or near our Nation’s capital knows what a shithole it is. National chain stores closing due to thievery, even after locking merch behind glass. 12-14 year old juvenile’s committing ARMED car jackings. Homeless derelicts camping in front of the White House. Drugs proliferating the population. The criminal justice system of the city turning a blind eye to repeat offender and releasing them back into the community.

So the President says we are gonna FIFY! Sends an influx of federal law enforcement to the shithole. Arrests go up by the hundreds. Turds getting locked up left and right. Carjackings drop overnight. Curfews enforced.

And what does the population do? Thank you Mr President? We are so glad we can move about our city and not fear being innocently gunned down? The city looks cleaner and we can be proud to live in our Nation’s capital?

Fuck no! We protest! We denounce your improved living conditions! You are unfairly targeting our shithole population. We can no longer roam about and rape, kill, steal, get high like some third world shithole country.

What the actual fuck?

Just bought a really early Brea USO 3.8-22 front parallax USO scope... It's in Mils (But marked 1click = 1cm at 100Meters, which is a really, really early USO marking for mils. Before folks were even calling Mils... Mils.)

This has a Horus reticle that is gradiated out to 4,000 meters!!! Crazy! The 100 meter 'sight in' position is so far up in the scope that there is barely any field of view above it (that is at 22 power... it's a bit better at 10x). But 4,000 meters on a Horus? What was this being set up for c. 2001 - 2004 or so? Only thing I can think of is a McMillan TAC 50 or an M82 Barrett? Maybe a Cheytac?

This is going to go on a structured barrel .300 Norma Magnum... so the reticle is actually useful in a modern sense.

But what on earth was Horus or JBW2 Thinking 20+ years ago when they created this scope? I can't think of anything then 'except' maybe a .408 Cheytac, a BMG or a couple of outliers like a 20mm Anzio?

Inquiring minds want to know! Anyone got any ideas?
