Accessories AREA 419 / Orange Vise & Maintenance Bundle - Nashville Only

This is still in its factory box (unopened, even). Because of weight, must meet me in Nashville (no shipping). $1575 - which may not seem like much of a discount, but with sales tax and shipping, it's at least $175 off. This price is firm, because I don't really want to get rid of it as much as I want the space the box is taking up. No trades.

Will obviously shoot photos of said shipping box/chat/FaceTime or whatever with whomever might be interested.

Decided to keep it.

SOLD Bighorn TL3 with or without barrels

DLC TL3 SA with whatever size bolt head you'd like. shipped

Proof 26" stainless comp contour 223 prefit
800-850 rounds through it

Proof carbon 24" 6.5prc

Comes with load data - with action

Both of these barrels shoot fantastic. The 6.5prc especially. Very consistent .3moa barrel with my load.

Mainly just want to sell the action but if someone wants a Turnkey setup I'm willing to let some or all of this go. Can assemble the barreled action for the buyer if they don't have a vise and action wrench.

Zero press versus Redding T-7 turret.

Was looking at upgrading from my 1980s rock chuck. The question I have is: Can the Redding T-7, with the Creedmoore upgrade, build bullets as well as the Zero press?

Don't care about faster than the Zero but how does the Redding T-7 compare for repeatability and head spacing and runout and all that?

I'm sure I'll still prime and throw powder by hand.

9mm Luger - Windage Drift at 100 yd questions?

I know it is silly to ask about spin/windage drift on a pistol cartridge like 9mm, but I have a Vector SBR that has a 6.5" barrel and 1/10 twist. Basically its an overglorified Glock 17L with a threaded barrel. When I zero it at 100 yd and check the laser bore sight afterwards, the laser is way high and to the left of my POA. I'd say about 3"-4" to the left and 6" or more high at 18 yd with the laser bore sight.

Worse, at the 100 yd line I can print a 2.5" 5-shot group but then sometimes none of my shots are on paper. I've tried different optics to no avail. I figure since the barrel is part of the lower receiver, and the optic is attached to the upper receiver that it may have some impact on this. I did notice that after a few shots or a mag is when the shots no longer hit paper at 100 yd. Once it is all cooled down, it seems to shoot normally for a bit.

Strelok does predict windage drift out to 100 yd (without any wind) but its showing a max of about 0.5 inches. Normal rifle cartridges don't show much in the same app.

I can understand the elevation drop because 9mm is a slower heavy bullet (115 gr at under 1200 fps or 124/147 at even slower velocities). But that much windage shift is odd.

I thought my barrel might be bent, so I re-adjusted and zeroed the windage at 7 yd, 18yd, and then checked it with the SL-150 laser boresight at 45-90 yd. It was dead-center at all of these distances. So the barrel is presumably "pointing straight".

Sierra shows 115gr JHP to have 1.15" windage drift at 50 yd. So it could be something like 2" at 100 yd? And given a 2"-3" grouping precision at 100 yd, could that explain something like a 4"-6" drift?

Is it just the nature of 9mm fired out of a short barrel at this distance?

As if you need another reason to get out of CA.................

SOLD Remington M541 X 22lr Military target rifle

Selling a Remington M541 X military target rifle in 22lr. No a lot of info on the out there but from what I gathered a couple thousand of these were made in the 70s and the CMP sold them in the 90s. It is in great shape, not sure the round count, but it isn’t high at all based on the wear on the action. There is on ding in the barrel from the safe and and some rub marks on the barrel.

The specs are:
26” bull barrel
Williams peep sights
Single 10 rd mag
QD sling mount on front

Cool gun but I just have no use for it and taking out to shoot is a hassle because she is a thick gal.

Asking $500 shipped OBO. SOLDDDD

Windows Laptop choices

Which one of these laptop will fuck me the least or will at least wear a rubber? Would be used mostly for work/home.

Dell Latitude 15.6 3540 laptop

or

Lenovo Thinkpad E16 laptop

Mostly surfing the web/watching movies/tv. Would also be used to run Excel, SILVAH, FVS, R ect (Statistics/Data Collection/Analysis software). All isn't to hard to run. I currently use an MSI modern with an I5/16 gig of ram but its starting to show its age.

Have you ever seen a suppressor make this much difference?

So was having issues with a rifle not shooting very good. To minimize variables (me) and to make sure I could still shoot groups I brought out my trusty atx that’s always been extremely accurate for me. I’ve always shot the atx suppressed but thinking nothing of it as the can I use on it was on another rifle I headed to the back yard with out the can.
Shooting two 5 shot groups of hornady 140 eldm factory match I was disgusted. Both groups being over an inch when it usually puts it in one ragged hole. At this point I’m thinking I just can’t shoot anymore and something is up. Buying two more boxes of match ammo (Winchester and hornady 147 eldm) I have a tad better results that make it just under an inch. On a whim I decided to go grab my dead air sandman that I usually use to see if that helped at all. Did it ever.

Top group is no sandman. Bottom is with sandman. The top group has an extra shot because with the can attached I didn’t think poi would be the same. Bottom is 4 shots. This was 140 grn Winchester match.

IMG_9317.jpeg

Top group is no sandman bottom is with sandman. I believe I pulled that shot on the bottom group. This is with 147 grn eldm

Anyone else seen a can make a rifle shoot that much better? I find it hard to believe it shoots that bad without the sandman attached. Barrel harmonics are real lol
IMG_9144.png

For reference the last time I had the atx out using 140 grn eldm match I shot this 7 shot group including cold bore. Obviously I also had my can attached.
