Rifle Scopes Is a Viper PST Gen 3 coming???

Looking at the current line up of Vortex Scopes it seems as though they’ve come out with new products that compete directly with the PST gen 2, with a hole right above where the gen 2 currently sits as the razors have bumped up a smidge.

It seems the strike eagle line has taken over that spot a bit and the strike eagle LPVO line definitely has started to overshadow the gen 2 1-6 options.

Is there a new viper PST Gen 3 line coming soon?
I’ve been wondering this for a few months now… I just have no clue.

Activist ‘Aghast’ Gun Buybacks Feeding Secondary Arms Market

A gun control activist was “aghast” and dismayed to learn that the burgeoning blue-city gun buyback culture is actually feeding a secondary arms and gun parts market.
The New York Times focused on a recent gun buyback in Flint, Michigan, noting that Gunbusters, a Missouri company, was contracted to handle the weapons which were surrendered.
According to the NYT, “[Gunbusters] has taken in more than 200,000 firearms over the past decade from about 950 police agencies around the country, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to St. Louis to Hartford, Vermont.”
However, Gunbusters does not necessarily destroy the firearm which is handed over at these buybacks. Rather, it often destroys the part on which the serial number is located, then sells the remaining gun parts on the gun parts market. As a result, “Gunbusters and its five licensees across the country, for example, recently averaged more than $90,000 a week in combined online sales of hundreds of disassembled guns from government clients.”
Upon learning of the way the buybacks feed a burgeoning secondary gun market, Detroit’s Rev. Chris Yaw said he was “aghast and appalled.”
He added, “It tells me that our society is set up really well for buying and selling guns, but it’s not set up very well for disposing of them.”

AR10 wear patterns?

Rifle has 1900rds all 6.5 Creedmoor. Ballistic 20in barrel, aero receiver set and BCG.

I've reached out to both companies last monday, ballistic responded and asked about the BCG, sent them pics and haven't heard shit. Aero hasn't responded at all

Is this normal wear for a AR10 platform? If it is ok I'm not complaining just wanting to make sure it's normal. Gun shoots fine and I've never had a malfunction.

Average Monthly Mortgage Payment Explodes to $3,322 In Biden’s America

The average monthly mortgage payment in Joe Biden’s America has soared to $3,322, per analysis from the Wall Street Journal.

That $3,322 is nearly double the average monthly mortgage payment when His Fraudulency assumed office. When former President Trump left office, the average monthly mortgage payment was $1,787.

“Homeownership has become a pipe dream for more Americans,” writes the WSJ, “even those who could afford to buy just a few years ago.”
“Many would-be buyers were already feeling stretched thin by home prices that shot quickly higher in the pandemic, but at least mortgage rates were low,” the report adds. “Now that they are high, many people are just giving up.”
But let’s remember who these people are who are looking to enter the housing marketyoung people. And who do young people vote for overwhelmingly? Democrats. And so, allow me to welcome you to today’s edition of People Getting What They Vote For:

It is now less affordable than any time in recent history to buy a home, and the math isn’t changing any time soon. Home prices aren’t expected to go back to prepandemic levels. The Federal Reserve, which started raising rates aggressively early last year to curb inflation, hasn’t shown much interest in cutting them. Mortgage rates slipped to about 7% last week, the lowest in several months, but they are still more than double what they were two years ago.

This is good news for me. The wife and I purchased our home in 1997. Afterward, we worked hard and saved harder to pay it off by 2003. Ever since we’ve been saving our money for retirement, and now that we are Of A Certain Age where it’s no longer wise to try to ride out stock market downturns, we have taken advantage of these gloriously high interest rates Democrats voted for. Our money is now nice and safe and snug in an interest-bearing account working its butt off for us. Thanks, Unhoused Zoomers!

Click no bang.....goofy looking powder.

The round in question was 7.62x54R. You folk know I like old things.

I don't really give loads on the internet but lets say it was on the softer side and was using a well respected powder, and a load I had been using FOREVER. Reason I am being shy around the powder is here at work I am not sure I remember correctly, N130 or N150. I just don't remember off the top of my head.

I had a few weeks off, that was nice, and one of the things on the table was doin some shootin. So I did. I got quite a few things dirty, some things I had not shot in decades. Made me really ask myself, why don't you do this more often, it is kind of fun. More on that in another thread.

But the rounds are loaded in 2022, stored in the "usual" little plastic box of your color choice, in a cabinet in the basement. Just like every other one in that same box.

This happened with about 6 rounds left in the box, and really made me think for a sec if I wanted to finish out the box. I stopped short, and still not sure if I will pull the others down. Looking on views on that. 45 rounds-ish in that box shot just fine, but this one, not so much.

Click no bang....hmm. Give it a few sec, then open up the gun 91/30 sniper wanna be. I got it from SOG years ago at the height of the "fake sniper" craze. Everyone wanted to play Enemy at the Gates, and why not. Cheap rifle and Rachel Weisz, nice butt.

I had a pic of the card, but will blurr out the info.

You likely know the card, but a few things, the 2.791 is COAL, and primer is "old" CCI primers I had laying around in reserve...nothing special, just old packaging I got at a gun show. At the time LRP are still a bit hard to find.

A couple photos of the powder, you can tell something happened somewhere. I just found it odd.

And yes I crimp the ever living hell out of them, those old soviet automatics, SVT-40 and PSL are just a tad rough. The bullets and loading are light as the SVT is not the strongest design out there. Get too heavy a bullet or too "hot" a load and the gun will basically bend the back of the rec. So light loads are what is called for and light bullets. They both shoot these just fine, but drop is pretty quick.

1702295904599.png

1702295919746.png

1702295936964.png

I have had this "basic" thing happen twice now. First one was when I put a 38 up for storage loaded when I went in for my first surgery. I had it "covered" with Ballistol as I was not sure when/if I was going to recover from some surgery. About a year later I grab it, open it up, looks fine, clean it up a little lint, dog hair, general dust, and down I go.

Round 1 ok, round 2 sounded a bit soft, round 3 phfsssstttt. Full stop. I was able to open the gun up so at least the bullet made it all the way into the barrel, and back up to the house I go.

I pull the rest of them down, One looked ok, two looked ok, three looked like tar. And again yes I crimped. The ballistol must have got in there some how, around the crimp or the primer pocket are the only choices. The other day above was dry as a bone, but the 30 was wet and goopy.

Had to drill out the bullet from the nose of the revolver.

Rifle Scopes Nightforce Mil-Spec ATACR's are finally for sale! SU-294 and SU-296

Wanted to give you guys a heads-up that EuroOptic and 3 other dealer are getting these scopes, EuroOptic will have the most scopes in inventory with 140 of each type. I'm not sure how many of these scope will be made, but the current estimate is 300 of each type, which will be split between the 4 dealers. I have no affiliation with EuroOptic, I'm just letting fellow clone builders and collectors know about this deal. An email should be going out later today, you can call them to order the scopes right now since they haven't been uploaded to their website yet.

The 2 NightForce Mil-Spec scopes are:

1-8x24, SU-294/VPS S-VPS

7-35x56, SU-296/PVS P-VPS

I have no idea if they'll get the 4-20x50 Mil-Spec scope, maybe that will arrive next year, but I have no idea.
