Custom Geissele 6mm ARC SPR (Special Purpose Rifle)

I custom built this rifle with the intention of having an all around rifle that would be great for competitions/hunting/recce.. The rifle was built to run suppressed and be extremely accurate, from the build list attached, I really did not spare any expense in selecting parts. I was also planning on reloading for this rifle but my plans have changed. I am more of a large frame guy. I have only fired 80 rounds through the gun, half of which were for break in/sighting/tuning. I was shooting sub MOA groups at 100 and repeatedly hitting a 3” plate at 250. I honestly believe this rifle is capable of shooting ½ MOA with the right tuning, I simply just don’t have the time for all of that. I would prefer to sell this as a package rather than breaking everything up. Selling it for what I have into it. I will only ship to an FFL. Make me an offer.

Hello everyone…for my second post on here lol. I was hoping for some discussion on reticle and scope selection for a TT.

I’ve decided I’d like a TT but can’t quite decide 3-15 or 5-25 and also wanted some reticle feedback. I’ve seen some complaints about the gen 3 xr being a bit too fine at low power.

My last scope was a S&B 3-12 with the P4L reticle which I found ok but I think I’d like something with a bit more information. Coming from using some lower end optics the S&B was really nice.

Now onto what I have and what my plans may be for the scope etc.

• What cartridge are you shooting? Switch barrel .308 / 6.5cm
• What is your intended use for the scope? PRS maybe, Benchrest yes, Hunting maybe, Target yes, Steel yes

Hopefully posting this to the correct place. We run a bison processing plant and choose to kill our bison in the field. We are currently using a .223 for heifers and a 6.5 creedmoor for the young bulls. They both work very well and I reload for both of them. I'm currently waiting for my suppressor to be released and its a Bannish 30. We are looking to have the quietest option available with a caliber big enough to knock them down in one shot kills. The new 8.6 blackout has me intrigued but that would require a new can. Anybody have any suggestions on what would fit the bill. Shots are usually 25-75 yards. Never farther than 75 and most often happens around 50 yards. I can fill in any blank spots in my question if needed. Thank you.

First post. (Been on here for a while viewing the great “Form 4 wait time” thread.

I’d like to have a nice bolt gun for plinking and varmet blasting. 223/556 is the only choice based on my ammo stockpile, suppressor, and budget. How off base am I on the following?

While it would be easy to buy a Ruger American, toss on a scope and be done, I think I want a tad more. Looking at the CZ Alpha.

The one gripe I have is with it’s barrel- a bit long for my wants, especially with a suppressor hanging off the front. Is it a mistake to chop it down to a 14 or 16 inch barrel, and have a nice little compact gun. The twist rate should be able to stabilize still, right? My 10.3 ar does well- so a bit longer has to be fine. Both are 1:7 twist I think. (I am totally ok making it a SBR and pay for the stamp- or cut it to 18 or 20…/.From there add a nice scope and call it a day.

How off base am I?

I've got a Rem 700 .308 Win Remage that I built and it shoots well enough for me. However.. I want to upgrade the action on it as I also bought a .243 barrel that I want to use that action on...

I'm pretty sure the thread pitch is 1 1/6" x 16 TPI, the receiver is standard Rem 700 S/A.. The barrel is a McRee Precision barrel.

What decent actions can I get for UNDER $1000 that my 'old' .308 Remage barrel will fit on?

I’m having a hybrid hunting/long range .308 bolt action Remington 709 clone rifle being built. I was adding up the weight on this rifle to be around 158.04 ounces which is around 9.9 pounds? Here is an itemized list of parts and about what each weighs according to the manufacturers specs:

Does 9.9 pounds sound okay, or too much, for a hunting rifle? I am also having the rifle glass bedded. How much more weight will that add? Is there any way to save anymore weight on this that I’m not thinking of? I had thought about getting a lighter ring set but I would only be saving 4 ounces for the Hawkins rings or seekins rings, and I thought about getting a mark 5hd in the 3-18x44 magnification but that would only save me about 4 ounces.

Just thinking all this through. This is still lighter than the rifle I had which was 12.5 pounds. I’d appreciate any thoughts you had on this.

It's a AH barrel code for 1987. B serial # prefix. Remington changed to C prefix in 11/87.
A good guess is youth synthetic model with a 16 in barrel left hand 308.
Original pre jlok with an walker trigger.
i tried calling Remington to confirm barrel length. No luck. Not helpful at all.
Local lgs gunsmith looked at it and said barrel looks unmolested not refinished and crown looks original.
Bolt face looks little used. I fired 3 rounds for function.
