Acceptable work or not?

I've gone the rounds on this barrel and tired of dealing with it. This is the current state after the mfg addressed a headspace issues and evidently reamed the throat.

Would you let it be and shoot it or send it off to get fixed by a competent smith?

Been reading a lot about expander mandrels and, particularly, the use of 21st Century expander mandrel (0.001 below bullet diameter) and turning arbor (0.002 below bullet diameter) over the range of mandrels they offer, differing in 0.0005 in size. I current Forster FL resizing dies for all my reloading.

How many of you use the turning arbor, or expander mandrel, instead of going down the route of setting neck tension using the the caliber specific expander mandrel kits? I found some chatter about this in light discussions from thread a few years ago, but thought I would ask in a dedicated thread.

Reloading Sequence - Does it really matter

I have come across guys whose reloading sequence is a bit different from what i am used to. I get pretty good results (average SD of around 7-8) but there is room for improvement. I was wondering if sequence really matters. Consider the following:

My sequence = de-cap/prime, clean (wet tumble), anneal, FL size, neck size (two separate operations), mandrel, prime, and load
Sequence option 1 = de-cap, anneal, clean (wet tumble), FL size, neck size, mandrel, prime, load
Sequence option 2 = clean, de-cap, anneal, FL size, neck size, mandrel, prime, load
Sequence option 3 = de-cap, FL size, neck size, mandrel, trim (if necessary), clean, prime, load
Sequence option 4 = de-cap, clean, FL size, neck size, mandrel, clean (again), prime, load
Sequence option ??????

One of the considerations to sequence revolves around annealing causing a potential residue to form inside the neck (a metallurgy thing caused by heating then cooling metal) and the need to clean inside the necks after annealing. if cleaning is done near the end before priming, that should address that problem.

Any thoughts?

Help/advice desperately needed

Hello Everybody.
I hope somebody can help me here.

I am a newbie. I recently bought my first AR-10 6.5 Creedmoor. I built the lower and I got a complete upper (I got all the parts from Palmetto Armory).

The rifle had some extraction/ejection problems and was putting a lot of scratches on the brass. I oiled it really well and then decided to take the bolt apart. Unfortunately through my my inexperience and stupidity I bent both ejector springs ( bolt has double ejector )

The BCG that came with my Palmetto Armory upper is Toolcraft AR-10 6.5 Creedmoor. Unfortunately folks at Toolcraft did not respond to two of the emails that I sent them asking what is the spring size for the springs I need to replace and where to get them.

I got Large frame ejector replacement kit from JP Rifle. It has both spring and ejector pin. Both spring and ejector are too large (diameter wise). I asked JP Rifle about it and they responded :"Our large-frame extractor spring is the same for .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor. It is a DPMS LR-308 compatible spring. The small-frame extractor spring is a mil-spec style."

I have no idea where to get the replacement for these springs. I searched the internet high and low and I cannot find AR-10 ejector springs for 6.5 Creedmoor and I am not sure why JR Rifle springs did not fit. Any advice? Should I just buy any AR-10 308?

I found Sprinco AR308 ejector spring but it says it is incompatible with DPMS bolts

PS. I also heard that AR-10 safety selector spring and ejector spring are the same. Is that true?

Help, what is this thing?

Found this thing in grandparents garage. I've got no clue what it is and didn't want to pitch it until I knew it wasn't important. Dad didn't know, so figured it was worth a shot here. It's cast and has a piece of wood clamped in the bolted end. Any ideas?

Woman “invents” shade, seatless bus stop. $10k a pop. We need to repeal the 19th amendment.

Los Angeles ridiculed for 'life-changing' female shade poles

The $10,000 shade poles could be the most pointless council architecture in the world

A Los Angeles bus shelter with no seats has drawn ridicule after claiming its purpose was to provide potentially ‘life-changing’ shade to women and minorities.
The so-called Sombrita, which cost $10,000, is essentially a pole with a lip that provides some shade, or a solar-powered light at night-time.
It has been mooted as potentially the most pointless piece of civic architecture in the world, rivalling anything produced by Britain’s councils.
The Los Angeles Department of Transportation said the 6,000 new shelters for stops with narrow pavements were vital to protect women using the transport network and hailed it as “low cost” infrastructure.
“The lack of essential amenities like shade and lighting isn't just a simple inconvenience. For women and gender minorities — half of our population — it can change the trajectory of their lives,” said Chelina Odbert, founding principal of the Kounkuey Design Initiative, which developed the structures with input from female transit riders.
The Sombrita is around 18 inches wide and barely provides enough shade for two people even when the sun is at the right angle.
According to images posted online, the light at night also leaves the pavement below almost pitch-black, illuminating only the upper portion of the pole.
The shade poles have copped widespread backlash

The shade poles have copped widespread backlash
Kounkey said the design was a response to the fact that only one quarter of LA’s bus stops have shelters. They added that a typical bus shelter costs $50,000 and requires the co-ordination of eight separate government departments.
“The first-gen Sombrita was designed to avoid permit and multi-agency co-ordination,” Kounkey said in a statement posted on social media. It was meant to “meet these City standards: be less than 24” wide… be entirely on the pole… and be removable.”

The shade-pole prompted scorn far beyond Los Angeles.
“It's basically a sundial that will occasionally cast shade onto the adjacent bench,” said Twitter user Scott Davis.
“Now obviously, La Sombrita fails to accomplish the goals of a bus shelter: it provides no seating, almost no shade, and no protection from the elements,” wrote Sam Deutsch in the journal, Belter Cities.
“While politicians and planners celebrating this silly structure are obviously deserving of criticism, the story behind this joke of a bus shelter is actually quite revealing of the broader failures of American transportation infrastructure.”

Photo of a London bus shelter on a narrow sidewalk. It is a roofed structure with a bench seat for six people supported on a solid wall with glass panel centre. A digital display board hangs from one end showing the times and route numbers of the next buses. A panel on the shelter wall has maps of the daytime and nighttime bus services in the region around the stop. A pole at the end of the stop where the bus halts has route timetables mounted to it.

“The wildest part about La Sombrita is that they held a full-on press conference,” said Alec Stapp, co-founder of the Institute for Progress think tank.
“If my bus stop shade/light thing cost $10,000 and provided neither shade during the day nor light at night, I would simply not talk about it.”
Local authorities in Barnsley, Brighton, Nuneaton or Prestwich, may not have the weather of Los Angeles or celebrity voters like Jack Nicholson, Kim Kardashian or Angelina Jolie.
But the next time bus passengers there are huddling under shelter from the latest downpour, they can always console themselves by knowing things could be worse. They could be in Los Angeles.

Yeah right.

They hire this murderer back so they can immediately “medically retire “ him. Another parasite we have to support. The shooter and person yelling commands should both get the needle
