Recoil from Suppressed Lightweight 300 PRC

Shooters,

I have done best due diligence to research previous threads, but I am having trouble getting the data I want. I am considering a Seekins Havak Element in 300PRC (6 pounds), to be fitted with a Thunderbeast Ultra 7. My only experience shooting a lightweight rifle is my .308 Sako Finnlight II, about 7.5 pounds with scope, no can and no brake. Recoil with that rig shooting 165s was smart but tolerable. I know a brake would be more effective but aside from the CB brake/mount inside the Ultra 7, I'm not into shooting with just a brake. i.e., unsuppressed. Can any of you experts tell me how much worse recoil would be with the Element?

Thank you in advance,
--Matt

Minnesota Medical Students Swear Oath to Fight ‘White Supremacy,’ ‘Honor All Indigenous Ways of Healing’

MINNEAPOLIS, MN. - AUGUST 2022: Medical student Nobles Antwi and his classmates recite an oath they wrote together during the University of Minnesota Medical Schools annual White Coat Ceremony for the class of 2026 Friday, Aug. 19, 2022 at the Northrop Memorial Auditorium on the University campus in Minneapolis. The …

Medical students at the University of Minnesota pledged to “honor all indigenous ways of healing historically marginalized by Western medicine” and fight “white supremacy, colonialism, gender binary, ableism and all forms of oppression.”
The move has many questioning whether the university is embracing shamanism as equally legitimate to Western science.
In a video from the white coat ceremony, which was led by associate dean for undergraduate education Dr. Robert Englander, students are seen reciting a pledge that has them “commit to uprooting the legacy and perpetuation of structural violence deeply embedded within the health care system.”
The most incredible thing about this clip is that the doctor almost certainly doesn't believe in what he's saying. But he submits anyway—because the institutional powers now require otherwise intelligent people to falsify their own beliefs and repeat the left-wing copypasta. https://t.co/LnbGAdsNWU
— Christopher F. Rufo ⚔️ (@realchrisrufo) October 12, 2022
“The most incredible thing about this clip is that the doctor almost certainly doesn’t believe in what he’s saying,” anti-critical race theory activist Christopher Rufo wrote. “But he submits anyway—because the institutional powers now require otherwise intelligent people to falsify their own beliefs and repeat the left-wing copypasta.”
As part of their oath, students also partook in a “land acknowledgement” in which they said the land upon which the university sits used to belong to the Dakota American Indians.
“This acknowledgement is not enough,” however, because the students must also “recognize inequities built by past and present traumas rooted in white supremacy, colonialism, the gender binary, ableism and all forms of oppression.”
“It is a common practice at medical schools in the United States to build upon the intent of the Hippocratic Oath to promote humility, integrity, and beneficence,” University media relations manager Kat Dodge told Campus Reform. “Each year at the University of Minnesota Medical School, the incoming students work with faculty to write an oath that reflects these core elements, values, and ethics the class aspires to uphold.”
The full pledge reads as the following:
With gratitude, we, the students of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Medical School Class of 2026, stand here today among our friends, families, peers, mentors and communities who have supported us in reaching this milestone.
Our institution is located on Dakota land. Today many indigenous people throughout the state of Minnesota, including the Dakota and the Ojibwe call the Twin Cities home.
We also recognize this acknowledgment is not enough. We commit to uprooting the legacy and perpetuation of structural violence deeply embedded within the health care system.
We recognize inequities built by past and present traumas rooted in white supremacy, colonialism, the gender binary, ableism and all forms of oppression.
As we enter this profession with opportunity for growth, we commit to promoting a culture of antiracism, listening and amplifying voices for positive change.
We pledge to honor all indigenous ways of healing that have been historically marginalized by western medicine.
Knowing that health is intimately connected with our environment, we commit to healing our planet and communities.
We vow to embrace our role as community members and strive to embody cultural humility.
We promise to continue restoring trust in the medical system and fulfilling our responsibility as educators and advocates.
We commit to collaborating with social, political and additional systems to advance health equity. We will learn from the scientific innovations made before us and pledge to advance and share this knowledge with peers and neighbors.
We recognize the importance of being in community with, and advocating for, those we serve.
We promise to see the humanity in each patient we serve, empathize with their lived experiences, and be respectful of their unique identities.
We will embrace deep and meaningful connections with patients, and strive to approach every encounter with humility and compassion.
We will be authentic and present in our interactions with patients and hold ourselves accountable for our mistakes and biases.
We promise to communicate with our patients in an accessible manner to empower their autonomy.
We affirm that patients are the experts of their own bodies, and will partner with them to facilitate holistic wellbeing.
We will be lifelong learners, increasing our competence in the art and science of medicine.
We recognize our limits and will seek help to bridge those gaps through inter-professional collaboration.
We will prioritize care for the mind, body and soul of not only our patients, but of our colleagues and selves,’ the new students continued.
With this devotion, we will champion our personal wellness and bring the best versions of ourselves to our profession.
We will support one another as we grow as physicians and people,’ they said, before concluding: ‘We are honored to accept these white coats.
In light of their legacy as a symbol of power, prestige and dominance, we strive to reclaim their identity as a symbol of responsibility, humility and loving kindness.’
“The University of Minnesota School of Medicine and Dean Robert Englander have performed a real service for the public by presenting their new version of the Hippocratic oath,” Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, chair of medical watchdog Do No Harm, told Breitbart News. “No longer will the current rage to inculcate critical race theory into medical education be contained in lecture halls at America’s medical schools. It is now there for all to see.” He went on to say:
The students reciting the new pledge must forget about the traditional role of the physician as a healer of the sick and express guilt for the incredible advances in medicine that have enabled huge improvements in longevity and freedom from some of the most devastating childhood diseases. They must fight ‘the gender binary, white supremacy, and colonialism’ among other goals of progressive ideology. Physicians are being called to advocate for every progressive cause rather than focusing on the role assigned to them by society: Heal the sick.
“Most disturbing of all was the call to ‘honor all indigenous ways of healing that have been historically marginalized by Western medicine,’ Goldfarb concluded. “Surely Dean Englander cannot mean that we should embrace Shamanism. Or does he?”

Chinese Spammers

Anyone have any guesses as to the purpose or goals of the nightly panda spammers?

Some people's kids.

I have four main reactions when I see these.

1. Hey at least they aren't trying to scam us out of money!

2. How utterly pointless it is to spam a site like this and who on Earth would waste a second of their time doing so.

3. It must be achieving some goal, or they wouldn't continue doing it night after night after night.

4. Random giggling thinking about the presumably pissed off disposition of the mod that has to deal with them every morning. Picture this, Frank in his underwear (you're welcome) sitting down at the kitchen table to enjoy his morning coffee when he logs in and finds 67 Chinese spam posts in ELR 1000 and beyond. I feel like there's an entertaining reaction or two in there sometimes.

Trump subpoenaed, other revelations dominate latest Jan. 6 hearing after nearly 16-month-long probe

Watched the January 6th proceedings today. Here's where it's going.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House Jan. 6 committee voted unanimously Thursday to subpoena former President Donald Trump, demanding his personal testimony as it unveiled startling new video from close aides describing his multi-part plan to overturn his 2020 election loss that led to his supporters’ fierce assault on the U.S. Capitol.

With alarming messages from the U.S. Secret Service warning of violence and vivid new video of congressional leaders pleading for help, the panel showed the raw desperation at the Capitol. Using language frequently seen in criminal indictments, the panel said that Trump had acted in a “premeditated” way ahead of Jan. 6, 2021, despite countless aides and officials telling him he had lost.
The DOJ has a moratorium on issuing indictments within 60 days of an election but apparently Congress is under no such restraints. It's getting real now. Buckle up.

Lieutenant Colonel Robert "Rosie" Rosenthal (June 11, 1917 – April 20, 2007) was an American lawyer and bomber pilot. A highly decorated officer of the Eighth Air Force of the United States Army Air Forces in World War II, he received sixteen awards including the Distinguished Service Cross for "extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against the enemy," the Silver Star (with oak leaf cluster) for "gallantry in action," the Distinguished Flying Cross (with oak leaf cluster) for "heroism or extraordinary achievement during aerial flight", the Air Medal (with seven clusters) and the Purple Heart (with cluster), as well as the Distinguished Flying Cross from Great Britain and the Croix de Guerre from France. In March 1944, Rosenthal's crew, nicknamed "Rosie's Riveters", with their B-17F, serial number 42-30758 bearing the same name, completed their 25-mission combat tour and returned to the United States, but Rosenthal extended his tour, eventually flying a total of 52 missions.

Why did he fly 52 missions? Because he wanted to kill Nazis that bad.

Mortgage Rates Hit 6.92%, the Highest in 20 Years

Mortgage rates on a 30-year fixed loan are at the highest levels in 20 years.

Andrew Harrer/Bloomberg

The rate on a popular type of home loan increased this week to its highest level in 20 years, according to data released Thursday.

The average rate on a 30-year fixed loan increased to 6.92% as of Thursday, according to the results of Freddie Mac’s weekly Primary Mortgage Market Survey—the highest such rate since April 2002.

Mortgage rates have more than doubled this year as the Federal Reserve has moved to combat inflation. “We continue to see a tale of two economies in the data,” Sam Khater, Freddie Mac’s chief economist, said in a statement. “Strong job and wage growth are keeping consumers’ balance sheets positive, while lingering inflation, recession fears and housing affordability are driving housing demand down precipitously.”

Prospective buyers have pulled back in recent months as high mortgage rates have weighed on home loan demand. The volume of applications for a loan to purchase a home last week—a leading indicator of buyer demand—was 39% lower than the same week last year, the Mortgage Bankers Association said earlier this week.

Recent inflation news has the potential to keep rates high. Inflation measured by the Consumer Price Index in September was hotter than expected, according to data released Thursday. The 10-year Treasury yield, with which mortgage rates often move, gained following the CPI release.

Re:S&B prices - Any foreign exchange traders on here?

So, Schmidt und Bender’s has absurd USA pricing as of 10/12/22. We all know that.

In a ten year timeframe, the worst the dollar has been against the euro is $1 = €0.72, or €1 = $1.39. The dollar was weak.

But the Euro is currently about $1 = €1.03, or €0.97 = $1. The dollar is strong, and things made in the Eurozone should be a LOT cheaper now.

So why haven’t S&B’s scopes (and others) gotten cheaper?

I can guess, like the way companies structure selling to their subsidiaries and disallow selling scopes from Germany to the USA.

But if the strong dollar continues, this cannot hold, right?

Don’t comment if you, like me, are guessing, ok? Financial people speak up.

You go Reaper !

Tell me this man doesn't put to words, and post online, EXACTLY what you're thinking.
I know I could have stuck it in some other thread but felt it needed a bit more attention.
Some of you guys probably know this guy is one of the original street racers from the Street Outlaws TV show.
Is he reality enough for y'all ?
Take a few minutes...hell a few seconds, you won't stop this video mid playback, you'll watch the whole thing thinking "right the fuck on".
I definitely gained mucho respect for his guy watching this.

Damn, looks like it's gonna be a link you have to follow....sorry about that.
Still, very worth the watch.

"Ambulance" total crap in cinema.

So I wasted two hours of my life on this pile of crap movie about retarded bank robbers, smart empowered women, homosexuals of all stripes and woke fuck faced assholes trying to rob a bank. Of course whitey is evil and bad and as usual the "black relative" is a complete lying piece of shit who turns on his "white brother" who's evil white family adopted him and fucked whitey in the end. This story follows the typical leftist narrative of the poverty stricken black man outwitting the white man and getting rich in the end.

Think "Collateral" An epic pile of shit about a highly skilled and extremely well paid, military trained assassin who is outwitted and killed by a black fuckwit cab driver who is so fucking stupid he cannot get his imaginary company off the ground, while he works as a part time dipshit cabbie.

Or the racist epic, "Black Panther" a movie about a racist piece of shit from a country in Africa that hates black people as much as they hate white people. They are all fucking racist and they had a magic rock fall from outer space and make them smarter than everyone else. The magic rock is called, "Vibranium" and it has the same properties as a welfare state. No matter how much energy you put into it..............................you it nothing back. Anyone who tries to steal their magic rock is hunted down and killed or maimed by racist black people who use the magic rock to help them pretend to be smart. And oh yeah,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,whitey is bad.

I am going to miss the epic "The Warrior Queen" about a strong empowered black woman who decides her useless dead ass husband is not up to the task of raising the family because he is on the corner slinging dope 24/7 and needs mama to fight off the popo and keep the projects safe from whitey, or whatever the fuck woke garbage they are peddling in this turd.

I'm gonna hold out for a movie where they make the Rock play an angry black man and he joins a league of fags, lesbians and crossdressing fembois and truck stop whores as they fight the power and teach whitey a lesson he will not forget..............................................ahhh fuck, they are releasing that one this week.

So for basically two hours and fourteen minutes the retarded police of LA used two million dollars in Hellcats and Chargers to chase an ambulance around the city wrecking every damned one of them in great hails of fireworks while you get diatribe after diatribe of leftist woke bullshit. In the end, crime is bad and the only people who survive the onslaught are either gay as shit or people of color and the lone surviving white cop is subjugated to his black masters and refuses to blame them for the crimes.

This movie sucked ass and I am going to stop watching this shit and find one of those channels with Matt Dillion failing to fuck Miss Kitty for 360 episodes and watch that instead.

MDT ACC vs Xlr envy

Looking to try a chassis and have it narrowed down to these 2. I have felt both at comps but haven’t had much time with them or shot with them. Both felt comfortable. I preferred the thumb shelf on the Xlr over the thin ridge of the ACC.

Is there any feedback people can provide between these 2?

I’m currently running KRG bravos and they have served me well but want to try something new with more adjustments.
