Firearms Part Out: Bighorn Origin, Manners EH1, Bushnell LRTS, Badger C1

I think it's easier to just part this stuff out, if someone wants a package deal let me know. Shipping is on top of item price so it's cheaper to buy a few items together. I prefer Paypal F&F or a check w/ 10 day clearing period.

Bushnell LRTS 3-12 $800: Glass is excellent, I haven't cleaned it so it's dusty but there are no scratches.

Badger Condition One $290: 30mm/0 Moa/1.70"/FDE

Manners EH1 Stock $800: Elite Carbon shell, molded in GAP camo, 2x Left sling swivels, Seekins Mlok rail with picatinny and ARCA attachments included. Professionally bedded for a Bighorn TL-series action with a shouldered prefit (I believe the SR series actions are a direct fit and the Origin fits if you clearance the bolt handle cutout for the swept bolt. If you use a shoulder nut prefit you need to clear out some of the bedding compound at the barrel).

Bighorn Origin action $875 shipped with 1 bolt head, $950 shipped with both bolt heads: Purchased a month ago from NSS. Has 120 .223 rounds through it and some dry fire. I have .223 and Magnum bolt heads for it. Bolt heads can either go with the action or the barrels.

Action tools:
Bugholes action wrench $80
NSS barrel nut wrench $20
Go/NoGo Gauges go with barrels

Triggertech Primary $145: Curved trigger, removable bolt release

Hawkins Hunter DBM
$190

Hawkins Hunter Short Action Magnum (6.5 PRC, 300WSM, etc.) $115

.223 Barrel & Go/NoGo Gauges $400 bbl only or $500 with Bighorn bolt head: Shilen Stainless Match, 22", Heavy Sporter, 5/8"-24 threads. 120 rounds on it.

300WSM Barrel & Go Gauge $400 bbl only or $500 with Bighorn bolt head: Shilen Stainless Match, 20", Heavy Sporter, 5/8"-24 threads. Never installed or fired. I have 3 new boxes of premium ammo to test with it I’ll include for $90 for all 60 rounds.

Manners LRH Stock
$1,150: Mini Chassis, Elite Carbon shell, molded in GAP camo, 2x Left sling swivels, B&T pic rail, integral ARCA rail and adjustable cheek riser. Bolt handle cutout has been clearanced a little to accept an Origin bolt handle. Stock is almost brand new, it's been taken to the range twice.

4 to 5 major microchip makers are building plants in America

At least 4-5 major microchip manufacturers are building plants here in America. It's a national security issue to rely on China to make chips, so it's great to see this happening. Trump made this happen with his constant talk of returning manufacturing to the U.S.

The nobody gives a shit but what did Bender do now thread.

So, I change cars like underwear, I’m bad with money, and somehow still have zero debt, except for my mortgage....anyway I would have more green stuff if I wasn’t an ADHD kid at heart. I won’t list my past cars I’ve owned, I would probably cry. At any rate, not too long ago I had a 99 jeep wrangler that I traded in my 2004 WRX in black mocha pearl. I still am not forgiving myself for selling that Flatbill hat/Vape wagon. The jeep wrangler ran like new and even the air conditioning worked, 200,000 miles on that in line 6 is nothing. But I have three kids and like to go fishing and camping, that jeep was full with just a 9 mm and a fishing pole LOL. I found some rust issues on the frame to cab mounts, I am a average shade tree mechanic, but rust issues I cannot fix and bother me. So I sold the jeep to a lady in Nebraska who is actually taking it down near my brothers house in Fort Walton Beach Florida, maybe I will see it again? She gave me $10,000 for it. I used that budget for my new to me truck. I wanted something small like a jeep, manual transmission, slightly above average off-road capabilities, I don’t do hard-core rock crawling. And of course what I found was an extinct model from a near extinct company with little to nothing aftermarket support or new replacement parts offered. A smarter man would’ve used his money on a newer style truck with better horsepower and better gas mileage, but hey this is me we are talking about, I am not smart with vehicles.

Lightest chassis that balances for a Vudoo?

Hi all -

I'm looking into a lighter weight but well balanced setup for my vudoo 20" MTU as it's an 18lb rifle in an XLR envy Pro chassis right now.

The chassis works great, feeds perfectly, and it balances well...but I need every internal and external weight to make it happen. My scope isn't helping (ZC527) but I have moved it as far forward as possible with a comfortable position.

I'm curious if a manners, mcmillan or other chassis (that feeds reliably) with a front weight will balance well and help me shave 3-4 lbs off of the total package.

Thanks!

SH Emails Coming

Hey all

Just an update,

I am sending another email blast, with the server changes and new systems being put in place I am upgrading my email marketing system too. I moved my marketing to my email server.

That means an email blast is going out in order to get acquainted with the system. It's sooner than normal, but it's pretty innocent

I am not a fan of emails this often but changes are happening so, necessary

I appreciate understanding it not my intentions to be this frequent with this type of email. The weekly Threadloom is a bit different and I will go in and adjust that as some people have fall off the system.

Thanks

Received my 3rd foundation centurion for the fleet build yesterday. Went with the coyote coloring which there are hardly any photos of on the internet. Most the foundations you see are black or dark distressed. I am very pleased with how the coyote looked against that black barreled action. Anyone else have coyote color?

WTB quality 223 bolt gun

as above. very little use 18-21 " bbl,1/8,vg trigger, your word on demonstrated accuracy, smooth action a +. i really don't like chassis guns-depends on the deal. has a semi wide forend called shillouette, varmit,it varies with maker barrel contour/weight same. has a rail or easy to find one.synthetic or wood. pillars a big plus. not looking for a "bench rest" gun. the best options are tikka t3x varmit or super varmit. those are totally gone nationwide. i have looked and called everywhere. actually my firrst choice would be a howa 1500 mini. they don't exist either. a buy wouldn't happen quick. i have several things to move before MC is feed. so just starting to look in my search for something that can replace higher end 22lr and 308 in my world. budget would be about $1500 OTD max.

SOLD KRG R700 Vision forend and weights

Have a Bravo and a lot of extras that I’m looking to move

-Base KRG Bravo R700 SA with a whiskey 3 forend, and 3 LOP spacers - SOLD
-DIY KRG steel weight kit, will work with any KRG stock. Has steel bar insert and steel arca rail - SOLD
-Vision KRG forend for R700 SA. Makes an extended integrated arca rail on any KRG SA rifle. Comes with 4 external weights. - $350

Movie Theater George Carlin's American Dream

Just caught the first half of this documentary and it is really excellent.

Carlin's mastery of language and words was always inspirational. Not just 'dirty words' but all words and language. VeerG would have said the same.

We joke about grammar Nazi's. But the reality is that words do matter. And mastery of them is more powerful than any kinetic weapon.

My college yearbook quote was "The pen is mightier than the sword... and I have a word processor."

This is what George Carlin was all about. Never letting someone else limit the words you use... or your mastery of language.

Totally worth watching. Especially to see his evolution from a 'square' joke comic to a counter-culture icon who really, really was one of America's first libertarian.

Totally worth watching!

Biden Taiwan double talk

Uhhh wut?

Q: You didn’t want to get involved in the Ukraine conflict militarily for obvious reasons. Are you willing to get involved militarily to defend Taiwan if it comes to that?
BIDEN: Yes.
Q: You are?
BIDEN: That’s the commitment we made. ... The idea that [Taiwan] can be taken by force, just taken by force, is not just appropriate. It will dislocate the entire region and be another action similar to what happened in Ukraine, and so it’s a burden that is even stronger.”

HOWEVER

““We agree with the One China policy and all the attendant agreements we made,”

How the fuck do you support the “one china” thing but are willing to use the US military and main streets kids to defend Taiwan if china attacks it….yet Taiwan is part of china by your own admission at the same time??? And how would china “take Taiwan” if it was already theirs???

You don’t get to play the “defend Taiwan” card while you’re holding the “one china” card dumbass 😂

Did china not make their tithed to biden and co this month?

Black Rifle Coffee in the news again

Shooting Squirrels in the Head at 100 Feet Offhand...Fantasy or Reality?

I have really offended people by suggesting that anyone who claims to shoot little grey squirrels in the head, offhand, at 100 feet, with an ordinary .22, killing them CONSISTENTLY, is either lying or letting pride warp his memory.

I'm not talking about shooting the best match ammo from a bench, using a great scope and an expensive rifle. I mean a typical $250 Bass Pro rifle with ordinary ammunition. I'm talking about an ordinary guy who doesn't shoot competitively, with a Skoal circle on the back pocket of his jeans. Standing with the rifle at his shoulder. Not leaning on anything. In the woods. Aiming at an animal that will run off if he takes his time.

I'm wondering...what do people here think?

A squirrel's brain is less than 1/2" from top to bottom, and it's slightly over an inch long. You can shoot a squirrel in the head and injure it badly and not kill it. I shot a squirrel's lower jaw off one day and saw it wandering around trying to feed the next day, which is why I now use a shotgun for standing shots. I put a spinner target 100 feet from my bedroom door, and I aimed at it with a scope. Even when I lean on a doorway, I find that the point of aim wobbles around in about a 1-1/2" circle, making an ethical shot impossible. With no support at all, things are even worse. Then there is the .22 ammo, which is doing great if it gives you 1/2" groups, rested, at 100 feet.

What do the rest of you think?

Does this Tikka action look like it's installed correctly?

full disclosure: I'm a complete idiot, with very little natural mechanical inclinations.

I purchased a pre-owned KRG Bravo Chassis for my Tikka T3x Lite, and I am brand new to bolt guns.

Went to install today, and I can't tell if I did it correctly, despite following along with the instructions, provided.

I knew that the lite profile barrel might look a little odd sitting in the Bravo chassis, but this seems.... incorrect?

Also note the gap between the trigger guard and the chassis.

If anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong, or if this is normal, I would greatly appreciate it!

Stacey Abrams Derides Georgia on Campaign Trail: ‘Worst State in the Country to Live’

Gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams ridiculed the state of Georgia Saturday, dismissing rival Gov. Brian Kemp’s (R) claim that the Peach State is the best place to live and do business in the United States.
“I am tired of hearing about how we’re the best state in the country to do business when we are the worst state in the country to live,” Abrams said in a speech at the Gwinnett Democrats’ Bluetopia Gala in Norcross, Georgia.
GA may be #1 place for biz, but we’re #48 in mental health, #2 in uninsured. #1 in maternal mortality & new HIV cases, #9 in gun violence. For too many, Kemp’s Georgia doesn’t include them. Why? Because #KempDoesntCare
As Governor, I’ll lead #OneGeorgia that’s #1 for all of us.
— Stacey Abrams (@staceyabrams) May 22, 2022

Stacey Abrams may think differently, but I believe Georgia is the best state to live, work, and raise a family.
And Marty, the girls, and I will work hard every day from now until November to keep it that way for four more years! https://t.co/T77LF1DroP
— Brian Kemp (@BrianKempGA) May 22, 2022

The U.K. Daily Mail reported on Abrams’ remarks:
Abrams, who is running unopposed while incumbent and heavy favorite Brian Kemp and Trump-backed David Perdue duke it out for the GOP nomination, was reacting to Kemp’s persistent brag that the Peach State is the best in the nation to do business.
Abrams went on further to clarify that she felt the state could do better on issues where they are ranked near the last in the nation.
‘Let me contextualize,’ she said. ‘When you’re number 48 for mental health, when we’re number one for maternal mortality, when you have an incarceration rate that’s on the rise and wages that are on the decline, then you are not the number one place to live. Georgia is capable of greatness, but we need greatness to be in our governor’s office. We need someone who actually believes in bringing all of us in there together.’
Abrams ran a failed 2018 gubernatorial campaign against Kemp and has since refused to concede, stoking conspiracy theories of a stolen election. This time around, Kemp is also facing another Republican in Tuesday’s primary election — Sen. David Perdue (R), who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump.
Abrams has slammed Kemp for his stance on climate change and his handling of the coronavirus pandemic in Georgia. However, Kemp argues that the state was the first to end lockdowns, allowing businesses to stay open and preserving Georgians’ livelihoods.
