Firearms B&T APC 556 (APC223)

Moved to auction site. No longer available here.

See Part 1 Here

1) B&T APC556 (LE/MIL Version of APC223) Rifle 16" Barrel. Unfired and with an upgraded Telescoping Stock (which cost me about $400, IIRC). I shot someone else's shorty version of this rifle (and in full auto to boot) and it was the softest shooting 5.56 rifle I've ever fired. Get the version that is marked correctly for what it is (a 5.56 rifle instead of the "we have to mark it .223 so we can export it" APC223 Model ;)). $3,400 Shipped $3100 $2950 Shipped. See pictures below - Note that there's a rub mark on the "left" side just above the safety selector. I can't tell if it's an abrasion or remnant of a sticker, tbh, but I quickly tried rubbing it away without any luck.

SOLD MPA Matrix Pro Chassis

MPA Matrix Pro Chassis in an olive color. R700 SA right hand footprint. I had a terminus in here that ran like butter. I purchased this used and rocked it for about a season and a half. It is definitely beat up and could use a fresh cerakote. Comes with my custom grip tape which makes it extra grippy on the bag.

resizing range pickup 5.56 brass

I have tons of 5.56 brass de-primed and cleaned and annealed but not resized yet. It all comes from stuff I have shot and my friends and shot and stuff that me being a "loot goblin" has picked up over the years at the range. I have 7K or so brass in reserve.

My question is about resizing. I don't really care about brass life as much as I do for my precision guns but measuring an AR chamber seems to be harder then removing the firing pin and extractor and checking bolt lift like I do with my bolt rifles. The only metric I can see anything concrete on is fired brass size and the go/no go gauge. It is worth it to set a FL sizing die to be .003 smaller then the go gauge or something subtracted from the no go gauge for a length?

I'm looking for a set it and forget it sizing die setup for my XL750 tool head with the bullet feeder for bulk reloading.

Do must people just not really worry about it and i am overthinking it?

Advice on .223 Tikka T3X and a KRG Bravo

Ok members, been sniffing around for info on these items and many threads are close but way off....I have mucho .223 components and was leaning towards the Tikka (Lite JRTXE312) and the Bravo stock. This is not a PRS rifle, (I looked at build parts and that is not in the financial folder 😞) but a fun bolt gun that I can shoot on the cheap, keep kids off my beautiful crabgrass lawn, and even let others try it as a starting point. As a certified service rifle slut, many nuances of the bolt gun realm escape me so I'll try to lay it out. Will there be any conflict running AICS mags with that particular stock? I plan to use mag length 77's and the 80's would be single load as needed. Looks like a simple task to drop the action into the stock but wanted to ask if there are any other pitfalls to consider?
The other varmint Tikkas are threaded but not the model I am considering. I'm sure John at Area 419 could thread it but wasn't sure if that would be out of
the question for this model. Wanted to run a can...Well shit....maybe I'll just call over there.... total budget including glass (Tasco scope from 1983 anyone..? :ROFLMAO:) $1400 - $1500 tops.

As always, thanks for any help and direction. Good luck and good shooting!

Doug

First AR-15 SPR Build: Barrel Suggestions?

Hey everyone,

I’m working on my first AR-15 SPR build and need some advice on which barrel to choose. I’ve narrowed it down to a few options, but I’m having a tough time deciding. Here are the contenders:

  1. Rainier Arms Ultramatch MOD2 .223 Wylde MK12 SPR AR-15 Barrel - 18" Nitride - 420$
  2. BALLISTIC ADVANTAGE AR-15 MODERN SERIES 18" Rifle-Length Barrel SPR w/ OPS 12 - 320$
  3. WHITE OAK ARMAMENT 18" Rifle SPR Barrel - 630$
  4. CRITERION BARRELS INC 18" HBAR Contour, Rifle Gas System, .223 Wylde - 570$
  5. CRITERION BARRELS INC SBN Barrel .223 Wylde 18" Rifle-Length - 570$
I’m located in Switzerland, which explains why the prices might seem a bit high compared to what you’re used to in the States.

I’m looking for something that will give me most accuracy at distance. (think 500+ yards)

Any insights on these options? Does anyone have experience with one of these barrels, and how do they perform in terms of accuracy, durability, and overall quality? Or should I consider a different barrel altogether?

Appreciate any help or advice you all can provide!

Thanks!

Gunsmithing McMillan Fiberglass Stock Repair Work Recommendations

Any recommendations for a shop that can professionally and reliably (as in not take my stock, money and not have no updates or response to status queries for months on end) fix the target butt system that has fallen out of my McMillan fiberglass stock, as well as do some minor patch work on the gel coat (seal the exposed end of the cheek piece, patch up some areas of the stock where the fiberglass cloth is starting to show)?

Since McMillan has become more a “production company” since they changed ownership, they are no longer doing such post-production repair work on discontinued or low volume stocks/molds.

Thanks in advance!

AT-XC bolts are not compatible with AT/AW bolts

I just picked up an AT-XC and was going to have Bugholes do a 223 conversion. I was able to find a complete bolt, but when I went to put it into the gun, it was a no-go. After comparing the two bolts, it is clear that the changes they made for the AT-XC are significant. Unless I am missing something, I will have to wait for the AT-XC bolts to become available.

Can a tuner improve these sub MOA groups?

Is a lot tested group like this as good as it gets or would throwing on a tuner tighten it up even more? Been debating testing a Harrels on this, but not sure if it’s worth the time and money or just to continue to extensively lot test until I get these results.

5 shot group at 50 yards grouping .257 and 10 shot group at 100 yards grouping .635

CZ 457 with 21 inch lilja in MDT ACC Premier Gen 2.

Primarily shoot NRL/PRS. Wasn’t sure if the tuner would primarily address tightening up more of those “pretty good” lots but be marginal (if at all) on improving lots like this.
