Canuckistanians about to feel some pain!

And it will spill into US.

Rail strikes are huge hits and rare.

Even if they resolve it instantly, it will take days to get the system re booted.

Convicted child rapist and multiple felon arrested after making threats to kill Trump during visit to Arizona border.

8iyu4CwGTEnbQTjP

COCHISE COUNTY AZ, 08/23/2024

..."I've heard about that. But I have to do my job. It's a job. It's a dangerous job, but I have to do my job."

-President Donald Trump when asked by a reporter about the ongoing manhunt for 66 year old convicted child rapist Ronald Syvrud who had made threats on Facebook spanning a period of 2 days to kill Trump as Trump stopped at Arizona as part of his campaign tour and also to visit the border region. Syvrud was taken into custody without incident by Cochise County deputies after a 6 hour manhunt in the wake of the threats. In addition to being convicted of 2nd degree sexual assault of a child, Syvrud was also found to have multiple other charges and outstanding warrants including one for violent assault upon his booking and processing.

This comes just days after Trump's previous spectacular campaign stop in North Carolina, where he vowed to pursue much tougher penalties for child rapists and child traffickers up to and including the death penalty. Donald Trump also promised to reinstate EVERY servicemember of the US Armed Forces who had been kicked out by the Biden-Harris administration for refusing the COVID vaccine and they will be reinstated with full honors and back pay.

TO CATCH A PREDATOR: Ronald Syvrud, 66, Benson AZ

I want to upgrade from my PSA bargain basement rifle.

What mid-range price AR ($900 - $1300) would you choose for a defense weapon?

Why would you choose that one?

Are there any I am missing?

Newbie trying to find a good load and need some help.

New to the hide and hoping to get some help and instruction and ideas.
I am trying to find an accurate hunting load for my 6.5 CM using 143ELD-X bullets, Hornady Brass, Win LRP, and H4350

I have watched a ton of load development videos and read a bunch of articles on it and am still having some issues finding a constant load.

I did a 10 shot ladder load with a COAL of 2.800.
Velocities from my Garmin Crono were below with grain weights

1-39.7-2605
2-39.9-2603
3-40.1-2623
4-40.3-2645
5-50.5-2647
6-40.7-2664
7-40.9-2678
8-41.1-2687
9-41.3-2687
10-41.5-2716

Screenshot 2024-08-22 093149.png

So I picked the higher node as the velocities were identical on the 41.1 & 41.3 charges.
I loaded 5 of each for 41.1, 41.2 & 41.3 and ran them through the crono again.

This was the data i got.

Screenshot 2024-08-22 093337.png

the 41.1 load had about a 1.75" group for 5
the 41.2 load had a large vertical string of about 4"
and the 41.3 load group had about a 1.5"

My thought was to adjust my seating depth on the bullets for another 41.3 grouping and see what it gets me as it was the "more accurate" grouping out of the 3 and I might have pulled a round when it was shot.

Was hoping that some of you all with a ton more experience than me might be able to help.

I have seen some other types of Load Dev on other sites that I am also experimenting with, but I am still very skeptical of those type of development platforms.

Im not shooting benchrest or anything, but would prefer to have an accurate load.
This particular rifle will also shoot a 3/4" group with Factory Hornady Precision Hunter 143Eld-X so I know the rifle is capable of better than what I have got with reloads so far.
So what would some opinions that you all could give or some suggestions.

Can't decide where to put Razor HD Gen III 6 - 36

Howdy y'all. Maybe a silly question, but I can't land on a decision by myself so hoping that you can help out.

Current long guns in question:
Tika T3X Tac A1 with a Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27, chambered in 6.5cm
Savage 100 FCP HS with Viper 6-24, chambered in 300wm

I just got a Vortex Razor HD Gen III 6x36 and I can't decide if I should put it on the 6.5 and move the Gen II over to the 300, or if I should put the new glass onto the 300.

Both are bench queens. Range is 100 - 1000 yds.

Zeroing one would be easier, but I do shoot the 6.5 more often.

Thoughts?

thx

Rifle Scopes Leupold Mk4HD vs Zeiss LRP S3

Looking for new PRS scope and am interested in opinions on these 2. I have not looked thru the newer Leupold MK4HD 8-32x56 yet so not sure how it compares to the Mk5HD line. Not thrilled with the lack of elevation adjustment on this scope. Have had good things about the Zeiss LRP S3 6-36x56 but again, I have not had a chance to look thru it. I am leaning towards the Zeiss.

Movie Theater Will you check out this Commie Bullshit????

This is the kind of commie crap that is on TV now... Turner Movie Classics (remember Jane fucking Fonda is married to Ted Turner (or maybe his rotting corpse)....

Top Secret was a spoof movie in which The West took on COMMUNIST East Germany. Not Fascists.... Commies. Filthy worthless East German and Russian Commies.

But in the 'new' description they are claiming that East Germany was Fascist.

Fucking commies.

PS. Fuck Jane Fonda and Ted Turner. Champagne Commies!

SOLD SOLD - Impeccable JAE Gen 2, Rem 700 SA, with TONS of accessories

WHAT:
1. A screaming good deal on an impeccable JAE Gen 2 Chassis, Rem 700 inlet, grey with gray/green and black furniture, side rails, 2” ARCA rail, and bag rider
2. Per Ellen of JAE, they cut changes in as they were designed and they did not group them into “generations” per se.
This chassis is the latest configuration that was produced with the weight reduced approx. ½ lbs. and with the Rev. B inner action cage and latest mag well adjustment hardware
3. Tons of accessories and parts (see below) that can be used or sold to reduce your cost of the chassis

More details are below adjacent to the relevant picture. (note, if there are any little white spots in the pics, then they are just tiny pieces of foam from the JAE packaging but I think I cleaned them all off)

PRICE: $1,250 shipped and insured UPS Ground in the original JAE packaging. Not open to offers…this is priced to move and I’d just as soon keep it than lower the price.

HOW TO BUY:
1. If you want to post “I’ll take it” that’s up to you but it’s an invitation to be scammed by someone using an account name similar to mine. My suggestion is to contact me by PM for any questions and to commit to buy. First PM that says “I’ll take it” gets it.
2. I will insist on an exchange of full contact information and a phone call between us. This is not negotiable and it is for your benefit as a buyer rather than mine.
3. The only electronic payment I accept is PayPal FF (no notes about guns, please). Alternatively, I will accept a check/money order but it must clear my bank before I will ship. That can take up to a week.
4. I am located in the Maryland if you want to do face-to-face.
DETAILS:
1. General pics of the chassis. Note the ARCA rail, bag rider, grip palm shelf, and bit of pic rail on the side to hang an accessory like a Send It level or perhaps a two round quiver. This piece of pic can also be mounted in the corresponding spot on the right side.

4. How it will ship
1724346719948.png

5. Accessories/optional bit
NOTE: MDT has sold out of all OG JAE accessories. If you don’t want any of these bits, you can sell them and significantly reduce your cost for the chassis.
NOTE: I'm not sure of the utility of the small ARCA piece. But, it can be mounted to the bottom of the full length ARCA or be installed in the place of the full length one.
- It has a sling stud mounted to it that can be moved to the full length ARCA, etc.
- There also is a small piece of pic rail mounted to this small ARCA and it too can be taken off and installed on the full length ARCA

1724347692513.png

6. Optional Bonus - I have a modified grip made by MKM that make the grip more vertical and moves the front strap closer to the trigger. It comes with an assortment of thumb rests. It had a small crack in the front strap area that I expoxied and I have used this grip for a good while and its not noticeable when shooting and functions perfectly . It will not fit into the JAE box but for an additional $20 (bringing the total to $1,270 shipped) I will ship it to you in a USPS flat rate box.

This may be a big deal to the Hughes Amendment

It's kind of odd. If I read this correctly it is still illegal to own a machine gun, but machine guns are bearable arms and therefore legal under Heller.
https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.ksd.146873/gov.uscourts.ksd.146873.35.0.pdf

"Defendant Tamori Morgan is charged with two counts of possessing a machinegun in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(o). (Doc. 1.) Specifically, Defendant is charged with possessing an Anderson Manufacturing, model AM-15 .300 caliber machinegun and a machinegun conversion device. It was established at the hearing that the conversion device is a so-called “Glock switch” which allows a Glock, model 33, .357 SIG caliber firearm to fire as an automatic weapon."

"The government fails to address these facts, and thus fails to meet its burden to demonstrate that Case 6:23-cr-10047-JWB Document 35 Filed 08/21/24 Page 8 of 10possession of the types of weapons at issue in this case are lawfully prohibited under the Second Amendment. To summarize, in this case, the government has not met its burden under Bruen and Rahimito demonstrate through historical analogs that regulation of the weapons at issue in this case are consistent with the nation’s history of firearms regulation. Indeed, the government has barely tried to meet that burden."

Gun Clubs Today: Is this a normal practice?

Wanted to get the Hide's perspective on something to see if this is typical practice: As a little background, I recently moved back to my hometown and joined the Rod & Gun club my father has belonged to for 30 years and I have been shooting at since I was 6. The club has about 650 members, trap, skeet, 'tactical' range, 300 yd flat range, 3D archery. It is a great place to shoot. More recently, they have expanded things to include a club house with a bar and kitchen. From what I can tell, save for large events or shoots, the only people that hang out at the bar regularly are chain smoking alcoholics who don't have families or dudes trying to escape their wives haha.
Anyway, I went to the club meeting yesterday which was mandatory for new members and one of their new stipulations for new members is 5 hours of club service within the first month of membership or else you are disenrolled. This apparently is a result of having a ton of members, but nobody to volunteer to do range maintenance, score trap and skeet leagues, bartend, or cook in the kitchen. At this point in my life, with a family, I have more money than time. With that, I always police myself and do not leave any brass or garbage on the range. When did this range become a co-op? What are your thoughts? Fight it since it isn't in the bylaws yet, or provide some slave labor to a club that I pay to belong to?... Why not just raise dues and hire kitchen staff / trap scorers / lawn mowers? It seems like the average age of the club members is about 60 which I understand at a certain point you cant keep lugging around railroad ties, shovel gravel, etc...but the people that have time for club functions are retired... im in my 30s and if I get a small window of time to do a quick ladder test some afternoon , I want to be able to knock it out - not perform work party functions. What are your thoughts?
