All cops suck and are only interested in going home at night...

From my AO.

Amazing VT State trooper right here! Oh and yup, a woman. With seriously large balls and willing to risk it all.

But, yeah. All we cops ever wanted to do is stay safe and go home at night. Not dive into freezing water to save a child or anything.

Hate on... whatever.

This is a great American, a great cop and a great human being.

Let's talk about High pressure catridges. taking the 308 win to 62000psi (saami max)

Hello people
I think that 308 win can/need have a refresh by closing the bore. Is it so dangerous push a 308 to 62000 psi?
why?
it is a popular catridge around the world, and changing the barrel and using the same catridge of always you can reach a performance similar to 300 win mag.
Yeah, burns the barrel, yeah but death also exist
i know exist 277 fury and creedmore, but in other parts of the world we have in hand the good ol' boy of always, the 308 win.

in my stimations you can reach 3000 fps with 180gr and 3227 with 155.5 at 25"

State sanctioned mass graves in the USA

At least 215 bodies in shallow graves behind Jackson Mississippi State jail.
Deaths occurred from 2016 until 2024

This one has a bunch of fluff at the beginning but a very good break down at the end - many of the dead have been listed as missing for years - no reports , no notification of next of kin - no autopsy or even embalming.

One of the dead was killed by a guard - many others were not even booked into the jail - just thrown in ditches .

Here another link - all these stories are 4-5 days old .

Missed A Shot On My Garmin Chrono Today

I've been running the Garmin on every session, 2-3x/week since late October. Today is the first time I ever had it miss recording a shot. Why? Because somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd shot on the string, it decided to pause the session and ask if I wanted to update the software and I didn't catch the prompt because I was on the rifle. To me, it is stupid to interrupt an active session to ask if you want to update. If you are concentrating on your shooting, you aren't going to catch it. I appreciate the opportunity to update, but I think if you are in an active session, that is not the time to execute an un-commanded pause for an opportunity to update. Perhaps we need ANOTHER update so that it won't stop recording shots in the middle of your session to ask if you want to update? There are plenty of opportunities for it to ask for an update other than when it is in "capture" mode.

Maggie’s Here we go again: ALIENS, DEMONS, UFO, UAP, Vegas, Miami, Real or Distraction?

What the fuck is really going on with all of this alien shit? UFO lands in Vegas back yard with 8-10 ft tall creatures. Now Miami mall has 8-10 creatures spotted in broad daylight. What’s uniquely comparable is the descriptions of said aliens. Gray color, 8-10 ft tall, and one moment you can see it them it vanishes into thin air!!!!
There’s people that took videos and pics and then there’s people saying their phones wouldn’t work when they tried to get vids and pics. Law enforcement stating they’re not allowed to comment about any part of their detail at the scene at the mall. People stating they can’t remember the time or what happened while they were there.

Selling my M40 clone in .223. Stock is a Beever156 one, with the correct thumb shelf. I narrowed and reshaped the forend to better match original stocks, and fit a correct Remington buttplate. Stock is pillar bedded, and sling swivels are period correct parkerized 513T swivels. Both are wood screw (since the threaded front ones are near impossible to find now). Finished with linseed oil and gunny paste. Action is a C series with 26” barrel off of a 700P.

Asking $1350 shipped for the package. Also willing to split but the stock needs to sell first. PM me if interested on a price for the stock

I get a kick out of…

…reading threads about custom built rifles and customized rifles. Stock swaps, chassis, alterations, builds from the ground up, you name it, I enjoy it. I grew up with the “rifle as a tool” culture and it’s too deeply ingrained for me to ever join your ranks but it’s a hoot to see you guys get so much enjoyment out of your firearms.

It‘s like walking the docks at South Beach Marina in Newport, OR and looking at all the gorgeous boats.

Keep them coming!

Ban on Guns in Post Offices Is Unconstitutional, US Judge Rules

(Reuters) - A federal judge in Florida on Friday ruled that a U.S. law that bars people from possessing firearms in post offices is unconstitutional, citing a landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling from 2022 that expanded gun rights.
U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, an appointee of Republican former President Donald Trump in Tampa, reached that conclusion in dismissing part of an indictment charging a postal worker with illegally possessing a gun in a federal facility.
Mizelle said that charge violated Emmanuel Ayala's right to keep and bear arms under the U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment, saying "a blanket restriction on firearms possession in post offices is incongruent with the American tradition of firearms regulation."
She declined to dismiss a separate charge for forcibly resisting arrest. Ayala's lawyer and a U.S. Justice Department spokesperson did not respond to requests for comment.
The decision marked the latest court decision declaring a gun restriction unconstitutional following the conservative-majority Supreme Court's June 2022 ruling in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen.
That ruling recognized for the first time that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to carry a handgun in public for self-defense. It also established a new test for assessing firearms laws, saying restrictions must be "consistent with this nation's historical tradition of firearm regulation."
Ayala, a U.S. Postal Service truck driver in Tampa, had a concealed weapons permit and kept a Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun in a fanny pack for self-defense, his lawyers said.
He was indicted after prosecutors said he brought the gun onto Postal Service property in 2012 and fled federal agents who tried to detain him.
He was charged under a statute that broadly prohibits possessing a firearm in a federal facility, including a post office.
Mizelle said that while post offices have existed since the nation's founding, federal law did not bar guns in government buildings until 1964 and post offices until 1972. No historical practice dating back to the 1700s justified the ban, she said.
Mizelle said allowing the federal government to restrict visitors from bringing guns into government facilities as a condition of admittance would allow it to "abridge the right to bear arms by regulating it into practical non-existence."

Optic Needed for Intro to Precision Shooting course

I have been plinking away and slamming steel for years with my 20th century, milsurp / battle rifle collection. Rudimentary instruction from friends in the early days plus and trial and error is how I've been running the last many years. Pretty much everything I shoot has to have glass, now, because my eyes are too poor for iron sights. Most of what I have are LPVOs, original "ancient" technology military scopes (think PUs) and other mid to low cost BDC optics. But I feel it's time to take the next step to get the most out of my time and ammo at the range.

I'm in Middle Tennessee and K&M Range has a two-day, introduction to precision shooting class that I'm interested in. By no means am I planning to get up into that world a super expensive, tuned-everything, long range competition type shooting. I do have an RPR in 308 that the course instructor says should be GTG but my high magnification Optics are, according to him, toys. He says I can rent glass for the course but I'm wondering what could be a worthy optic to move up into without spending thousands of dollars. He casually mentioned I could get into something decent for about $2,500 but that is just not a price point I'm willing to invest in (at this time). A buddy of mine has a 50% military discount with Vortex and some others. Wondering what could be a decent mid price option. Then, I guess the other question is going with MOA or MIL type reticles.

My range doesn't go beyond 400 yards but my goal is to learn better contemporary techniques to help me get the most from my scoped collection.
