The State of Texas is telling mayors of sanctuary cities in other states to “gear up” as “more migrant buses are on the way.” Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered additional buses to transport migrants being released onto the streets of border communities.
“I have directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to deploy additional buses to send these migrants to self-declared sanctuary cities and provide much-needed relief to our overrun border towns,” Governor Abbott said in a written statement on Friday. “Until President Biden upholds his constitutional duty to secure America’s southern border, Texas will continue to deploy as many buses as needed to relieve the strain caused by the surge of illegal crossings.”
The governor tasked the Texas Division of Emergency Management to increase the number of buses available to move migrants released onto border-town streets to sanctuary cities in other states. So far, these cities include Washington, D.C., New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Denver, and Los Angeles.
TDEM spokesman Seth Christensen told Breitbart Texas on Saturday, “The state of Texas has access to as many buses as necessary to provide relief to our overwhelmed border communities from the massive number of migrants being processed and released by the federal government onto their streets.”

During the first three weeks of September, Border Patrol agents apprehended nearly 87,000 migrants who crossed the border into the five Texas-based border sectors. This is an average of more than 4,100 migrants per day since September 1.
The Texas-based sectors account for nearly 60 percent of all migrants apprehended along the southwest border with Mexico, according to unofficial Border Patrol reports reviewed by Breitbart Texas.
Christensen told Breitbart there is a near-constant flow of buses out of the Rio Grande Valley Sector cities of Brownsville and McAllen. The RGV Sector is the busiest of the Texas-based sectors this month, with the apprehension of more than 31,000 migrants in three weeks, the reports indicate.
The Del Rio and El Paso Sector apprehensions fell slightly behind the RGV Sector with nearly 29,000 and 25,000 apprehensions, respectively.
“President Biden’s continued refusal to secure our border invites thousands of illegal crossings into Texas and our nation each day,” Gov. Abbott stated. “Texas communities like Eagle Pass and El Paso should not have to shoulder the unprecedented surge of illegal immigration caused by President Biden’s reckless open border policies.”
The Office of the Texas Governor reported:

In April 2022, Governor Abbott directed TDEM to charter transportation for migrants who have been processed and released by the federal government into Texas communities. To board a bus, a migrant must volunteer to be transported and show documentation of their release from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
To date, Texas has bused:

• Over 11,900 migrants to Washington, D.C. since April 2022
• Over 14,800 migrants to New York City since August 2022
• Over 8,700 migrants to Chicago since August 2022
• Over 3,000 migrants to Philadelphia since November 2022
• Over 1,500 migrants to Denver since May 18
• Over 610 migrants to Los Angeles since June 14

Since Abbott began busing migrants to these sanctuary cities, New York City Mayor Eric Adams has become an outspoken critic of the Biden administration’s policies on border security and immigration.
Three days ago, Mayor Adams warned President Joe Biden of the “tremendous toll” the “asylum seekers” are placing on his city, Breitbart’s Elaine Mallon reported. His warning came as the president prepared to travel to New York City for a meeting at the United Nations.
“President Biden is coming to the city,” Adams said on Thursday. “New York doesn’t deserve this. The asylum seekers don’t deserve this.”
The president, however, did not meet with the outspoken mayor. Instead, he met with New York Governor Kathy Hochul.
“Had a very productive conversation with President Biden tonight regarding some of our specific requests for help with the migrant crisis. Also commended him on his leadership at the UN today,” Hochul posted on X, formerly Twitter.
Since beginning the migrant busing program in April 2022, Texas bused more than 40,000 migrants to the cities of Washington, D.C., New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Denver, and Los Angeles.

Jul 5, 2018 — Earlier this week I traveled to watch the King of 2 Miles rifle competition (Ko2M) at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico.

ETA; thank you all for the advice. I cancelled the charge, PSA can go retrieve their gun since I never filled out paperwork or touched it. They actually had the same rifle back on sale again, so I reordered and shipped to a new FFL.


Looking for some input, and to see if anyone has dealt with this kind of nonsense before.

On 1Sept, I placed an order for a rifle from PSA. Several days later the rifle ships, and arrives to my selected FFL on 7Sept. I have not used this FFL before, but they were on PSA's preferred list and they're close to my house, so I figured what the hell. FFL Contacts me that afternoon and says there may be a potential discrepancy with the rifle that was sent. They explain that the rifle description does not match what is stamped on the receiver of the rifle. I question them on it, and the physical description of the rifle matches what I ordered, and they state the serial numbers match from firearm to paperwork. They want to contact PSA to verify, I say sure go for it.

The next day, the FFL contacts me and states that they spoke to PSA, and PSA is asking that the rifle be sent back to them, and to not transfer it to me. Okay fair enough. PSA emails both myself and the FFL a copy of the return orders AND the UPS shipping label on 8Sept. On 12Sept I contact the FFL and inquire about the shipping status, I was told that it was handed over directly to the owner of the shop to ship out, and that he had shipped it. I asked that they follow up with him, because the UPS label is still only showing "created", not received by UPS.

Several days later I check in with PSA, they do not have the rifle. I contact the FFL, get the same story. A couple of days ago, 21Sept, I contact PSA, they still do not have the rifle, and verify what I am seeing that the label still shows "created" and not received by UPS. I call the FFL again to inquire because PSA said ultimately there isn't a lot they can do in this scenario. FFL tells me that they will check with the owner of the shop and inquire about the status, but again tells me what they've said this whole time; it was boxed appropriately, return label attached, and given to the owner of the shop who would ship it. Fast forward today, I left them a message to call me back (they are open on Saturdays) several hours ago, no dice.

At this point, I'm about to cancel the charge on my credit card and take it up further with PSA. What I'm wondering from any of you who are FFLs, or have dealt with shady FFLs, is it time to contact the ATF field office in my area, or am I just being a whiny troll?

Does anyone make a male thread protector for the barrel threads in an action? I have a Terminus Zeus with QC and when I travel with the rifle I don’t keep a barrel mounted in the action in order to reduce overall size of my case.

I have tenon protectors for all of my barrels, but I have yet to find a protector for the threads in the action. Possibly a fools errand to try to find as most don’t leave their actions without a barrel that often, but figured I’d ask.

I have searched around and can’t find anything along the lines of what I’m looking for.

Four hours later around midnight, despite the army of drones, officers, and elite K-9 units deployed by the police, a civilian outdoorsman who volunteered on the search team, riding an ATV and bathing the area with high lumen lights, discovered little Thea safe and sound. She was sound asleep, her head resting on the smaller dog as a furry pillow while the other dog stood guard over them and alerted the ATV rider when his lights approached.

As if things can’t get more bizarre over there.

So this year, the antler-rats didn't eat my entire pepper crop... because I grew them on the deck in containers. Fewer plants, but an utter bumper crop of peppers despite the rain! Habaneros, cayenne, and coming ripe are a lot of thai and carolina reapers. Also jalopenos and some other 'green' varieties that I have been making poppers with for weeks, but not making sauce with those.

The Habaneros -- more than a pound -- are definitely ready to process into hot sauce, something I've never made. There are some good-sounding recipes on the interwebs (chilipeppermadness has some good-looking stuff). But as this community never disappoints when it comes to 'food' stuff... So who makes their own? Who's willing to share some recipes? Hot, hotter, hottest? Sweet hot? Wierd combinations? Pepper blends? Aging? Straining? Pressing? Tips?

Oh and I suspect there will be enough made for some bottle swapping, too...
