Action has about 2,000 rounds on it with a standard bolt. This bolt only has the 64 on it. Bolt knob has some scratches on it because the wrench and rag slipped when tightening.

Joined this forum 6 years ago and have been trying to consume as much knowledge as I could. Want to throw a 700 together and sort of threw it on the back burner.

So I'm sitting on a 16.5" 700 SPS" .308. Threw it on a XLR Envy Pro Chassis. Only had the bolt threaded for a knob and dropped in a Geissele Super 700.
Plan was to just grab a blueprinted action and slap on a Remage barrel. But then this was when things began to dry up and they weren't as available.

I want decent build that I can be content with. I just can't leave things alone. It will just be for occasional range use. Probably a few times a year and work my way through things. So that if it's I enjoy, I'll take it further from there.

Since being inactive for a bit it looks like some new actions have surfaced.
Seems like with a la carte options blueprinted actions add up. Doesn't seem to make much sense to go through all that with a factory action unless it's a godly shop.
Couple hundred more and you could buy an entry like action. So I was researching and it just became overwhelming. Came across primary extraction timing after blueprinting and now I'm lost. So many blueprinting options.

Does it sounds like a good plan to throw on a Remage barrel on the stock action for now. I want to go as budget as I can, since a lot of my projects like this get tinkered with then just thrown in the safe.

Then consider replacing the action if I get more into it? Probably a Origin or EVOII. I'd assume actions like these would be considered trued and timed since they're made from scratch?

If you had to pick one load for general shooting target and possibly defense what would it be. Seems like a 75 or 77 grain load of some type is the most common choice. I still have a bunch of 77 Noslers I bought cheap so that's what I will probably start with. I know there's some newer bullets that people are using but they are usually a bit more spendy.

So what are you guys using? I might shoot an occasional match but not really a big thing for me. For me once I find a good load I'll just load a pile of it. Not looking for something on the edge just a good all around performer for multiple AR mag fed guns. Think everything I have is 1/7 or 1/8 at this point.

Most of you have heard of or have actually been a part of a battle to keep a shooting range open. Here's a recent example of a Township in Pennsylvania trying to shut down someone who is basically shooting on his own property and has been doing it for years.

This reminds of noise abatement rules near airports. The airport has been located well away from any city for decades. The community has benefited by air travel in and out of the airport.

Many years later the city has grown and developers buy up the surrounding farmland near the airport. Then the homeowners complain about the noise.

It's the same with some shooting ranges. Although Mr. Beliveau doesn't say it, I suspect that someone wants his property. So first they make the property worthless to him by prohibiting all shooting activity. Then after spending a fortune on attorney fees and only losing, he's in financial hardship.

So the people wanting his property give him a low ball offer.

So I got my first “real” 22lr trainer. I went with the Bergara B14r Carbon in LH. A local shop had a great deal on it since it was their last in stock and were just looking to move supply (guess it sat for a while). I went with Talley 30moa base, vortex match pro rings, a Burris xtr iii 3.3-18 illuminated, SRS 4” arca rail since it installs right in the sling studs so you just have to unscrew sling studs and put on rail and screw back in. Waiting on the Burris to come in and it’ll be ready to rock.

Question, what ammo are you fellas using for your 22lr long range and accurate shooting?

I'm currently running a Rem 700 SA with a remage barrel/nut. BA is in an AI AX chassis. I have this AI high rail on it to get my scope lined up with my night vision clip on.

I'm looking to switch to a custom action but still need that tall AI rail to fit on it. The rail fits on standard Rem 700 SA. What actions would fit? Right now I'm only aware of the stiller Tac 30. I would have to have the AI rail milled for #8 screws which is not a problem.

Just setting up an annealeez machine. Every video I watch the flame from the torch is very short and pointed. The torch on mine is shooting a 6" flame which is melting the upper wheel. Do I need the pressure regulator or do I need a new torch?

I have 20lbs of Varget in 1lbs bottles. Two different lots with 10 in each lot.
