Nice BUIS?

Been a minute since I’ve bought back up iron sites. Like to get 2 sets for my Seekins SP10 and SP-15. Something nice and oriented toward “precision” (small peep option).
Looking for brands OTHER than KAC, LMT, Magpul Pro. Have those on other guns. Looking for suggestions. Appreciate your time.

Did see these on Rainiers site:

Stop what you're doing. Fuck the EPA. And go buy this showerhead.

I think I've proven a theory to myself in that there are showerhead manufactures who go an extra step to fuck you out of water pressure/water flow that doesn't just end with shitty water regulator inserts.

I have 2 showerheads upstairs and 2 downstairs. The larger guest room showerhead pressure is abysmal (sorry @clcustom1911 ) All the same brand but different configurations. I never liked the shower pressure in the master bathroom; it wasn't terrible, it also wasn't fantastic. I had a plumber check our water pressure when he was here and he confirmed I should be getting more water. I took the heads apart and took the regulators out. It improved but I was still under the impression from the amount of water it would shoot out with no showerhead on, that it should be more.

I came across a forum where someone was talking about a similar issue. It was brought up to get one of these and be prepared to have your water bill go up:

Got one for the hell of it.

It comes with some crafty wink wink nod nod instructions attached to the showerhead. They know exactly what's up. I'm guessing to get around whatever EPA bullshit there is, they include a restrictor, yet it is extremely fragile. They mention that they included a second one just incase you break the first one. Why would you break it? Oh, because they mention you can use the other restrictor it comes with; its just a debris screen LOL

Pull restrictor out, which basically melts, put debris screen in and screw it on. When I turned the water on, it was like someone was standing there with a fucking full pressure garden hose. Funny how even with any restrictor out of the big brand named ones the pressure still sucked, yet with this one, its 10x stronger. Hmmmmmm.

If the normal 'high flow' restrictor showerheads are 1.8gpm, this has to be 2-3x that.

SOLD New MPA BA Comp - OD Green

I have a new MPA BA Comp in OD Green that I would like to move. I had planned on using this on a 22 BRA build I have a barrel coming for but didn't think about the 1.250" barrel not fitting in the chassis. It is stamped as a grenade but I haven't noticed any defects at all in looking the chassis over. It has their new cheek riser and bag rider.

Price: $950

Trades: New MDT ACC

Maggie’s People with guns and ammo will determine the value of everything post apocalypse.

pulling on a discussion over on 24hourcampfire.

People with guns and ammo will determine the value of everything post apocalypse.

In order, guns, ammo, thermal optics. Guns as in squad level rifles, like an M4 with good optics as discussed below.

Repeat as necessary to meet your family needs.

Guns with limited ammo can secure more ammo. Ammo with no guns puts a target on your back. Thermal optics makes it hard for the opposing side to hide.

I think thermal is a better solution than night vision. Night vision allows any hard surface to provide concealment. Thermal requires a thermal barrier to provide concealment.

Oh, and antibiotics. I suspect people will trade ammo and guns for antibiotics, provided you have ammo and guns to keep the trade safe.

JASE medical has a basic kit that I keep current. A bit of cipro and cephalexin goes a long way. Rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide or white vinegar will clean most wounds and prevent infection. Amazon has small packs of Neosporin for your bug out bag med kit. Tourniquet? Israeli bandages, quick clot.

The basics, the basics and the basics, in that order.

You can't barter if you're dead from infection, and most casualties will be from infection, I suspect.

What do you think?

Flustered on What to Buy First

I have my rifle (Sako TRG 22), fill bags/positional gear and all my reloading equipment and supplies. But I need a few other things to really get moving with long range and/or PRS. I have a list of things, which I cannot purchase all at once. Trying to decide what to purchase first to last. What's more important??? Any suggestions and things I may have left out would be appreciated.

List of Needs:
Kestrel 5700 Elite
Chronograph
Spotting Scope
Range Finder
Competition Rifle Chassis
Anything Else?

Please advise on how to donate a rifle for a Scout in need

Fellow hide members,

I've had the pleasure of working with a great human who's been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Jerry is USMC Scout sniper, patriot and general amazing badass person with terrible cards dealt to him.

I'm sitting here with some stuff to trip to help him get through this as painlessly as possible.

One of the items is a howa youth rifle with full length stock that I'd like to find the best market to bring in some cash. I'm not sure on how to set up an account for this or if I just say send him a check.

Jerry has plans for treatment but his chip is going to be about 30 grand.

Any advice is appreciated. I am sure that I can get a local ffl to handle the shipping if that's an issue.

Thanks in advance.

Rifle Scopes Back To Basics

I recently pulled a Nightforce SHV 4-14×56 off my bolt action hunting rifle. The scope was needed for another project. Looking in the cupboard the only other scope I had to replace it with was a Leupold VX Freedom 1.5-4×20. I considered buying another scope but as I don't generally take shots over 300m with the rifle I thought I'd test it in a format to simulate pig hunting. I mounted it up and was immediately impressed with the improvement in handling and weight of the rifle.

Summary of test was:
5 shots each from prone, sitting and standing at 100m - only support was a hunting sling. All shots fired as rapidly as I could acquire a sight picture.

5 shots each from prone and sitting at 200m as per above.

5 shots prone at 300m as per above.

The result of all 30 rounds was 28 shots that landed in the heat/lung area of the target (medium sized pig simulation) 1 shot that would have needed a follow up and 1 shot at 300m that missed. It was raining and I had water on the scope and my glasses so it was as real world conditions as I could get.

I'm going to leave the scope on the rifle. It's much nicer and lighter to carry, no parallax to mess around with and gives me the performance I want out to 300m.

Anyone else use such a basic scope for hunting? How have you found it? Has 4× magnification limited you in the field. Interested to hear other people's experience.

Gas Tube / Barrel Nut Interference

I'm building a new upper and am having an issue with my Gas Tube contacting the barrel nut. Not sure of this is a problem or not. I've built many rifles (15-20) over the years and never noticed this before.

Barrel is a Ballistic Advantage 20" Premium Series DMR profile. Gas block is from BA and is drilled for a roll pin to secure it to the barrel.

Handguard and barrel nut are Geissele Mk16 and Gas tube is Aero Precision rifle length.

Upper receiver is unknown...something I had in my parts bin.

Should I be concerned or just quit worrying and get it together?
