Remington 700 issue?? Questions

Ok, I have a Remington 700, what I was told was a pss when I purchased it back in 2008. Shot fine. As I have decided to play more, I removed it from the HS Precision stock it came in and decided to put it in an AICS chassis. Immediately I had issue loading the mag and getting it seated. After I was able to get it seated, I had issue running the bolt to feed the action, like it was binding on something or catching. I played with the feed lips and tried to get it to feed normally, and wouldn’t. So I‘ve let it sit as I have other guns to shoot.

So, today, I said heck with it, and decided to put the action into a KRG Bravo chassis To see if it was something with the ASIC chassis. Once getting it fully assembled, I go to run the bolt, and not even torquing it to the proper amount, and closing the bolt is really hard. Thought the action screws were too long, so added additional washers To take up the space. Reassembled everything, and with no mag or rounds, bolt seems to run smooth. Once we go to load a mag and chamber a round, closing the bolt handle gives significantly more resistance to the point it is hard to close. Cycle the bolt, eject a round and send another round and go to close the bolt, and it gets even harder.

Not really sure what going on or what’s causing it. Like I said, when it was originally in the HS Stock, worked fine with the bdl, once I went to try a chassis system, thats when all the issues started. I did notice as we were playing with the 2 different chassis systems, if I set a washer between where the action sits and where the chassis is, I was able to load a magazine into the mag well and have it catch, but I’m pretty positive I shouldn’t have had to do that just to get the mag to catch, but still had the issue with bolt closing. Hopefully it’s something simple and I didn’t screw something up royally.

Please help.
Thanks,
A functional idiot!!!

Sub, Compact, Utility, 4x4, tractors - advice needed

Living out of town on 4 acres I got snowed in this year when it fell about 2ft and a few times in years past so I'll use it for this when it snows more than 5" or so.
Also have a dirt road/s to start maintaining.
Rocks to remove on those roads as well.
Been leaving the property unmowed because I don't own a riding mower but would like to do it once or twice a year.
Sometimes I would like to move heavy stuff around - getting old and putting stuff in the back of the truck is harder.
Holes to dig, been putting that off.
I might even take on a few smaller jobs using the tractor eventually.

I finally can afford a tractor now, new or used.
The problem is I don't know crap about them.
Worried about buying too small a one with low clearance to the ground and then struggling to move snow. Too big a tractor gets expensive.
Buy used and worried about taking somebodies problem off their hands and spending more to get it fixed.
Used tractors are not very common around here.
Buy new and pay taxes. I did learn by watching videos to buy a tractor that has good dealer support in my area. Problem is there's no farming where I live so no matter what I'm gonna have to travel approx 100 miles to get that support, or for that matter buy a new or used tractor.
Best accessories??
Most reliable brands??
John Deere tractors are so expensive and so are the accessories.
Leery of the new chinese tractors. Saw some videos of people complaining of warranty support and parts availability.

So far I'm leaning towards new YanMar because of my perceived value of it, lower cost, and warranty??? Not sure how good they are??
Not sure on size of tractor either.
Dealer 100 miles away.
Sub $50,000 and hopefully much less.

The experienced please comment.

Thanks

Anti-incarceration SJW activist dies after brutal robbery in Oakland

By Thomas Lifson

The large and influential social justice warrior community in the San Francisco Bay Area is reeling with the news of the death of one of their prominent members, 48-year-old Jennifer Angel. Ms. Angel was the founder and owner of a well known bakery in Oakland, Angel Cakes, and was an outspoken and active proponent of left-wing causes, as acknowledged in a statement issued by family and friends following her death.
244014_5_.jpg

YouTube screen grab (cropped).
We know Jen would not want to continue the cycle of harm by bringing state-sanctioned violence to those involved in her death or to other members of Oakland’s rich community.
As a long-time social movement activist and anarchist, Jen did not believe in state violence, carceral punishment, or incarceration as an effective or just solution to social violence and inequity. The outpouring of support and care for Jen, her family and friends, and the values she held dear is a resounding demonstration of the response to harm that Jen believed in: community members relying on one another, leading with love, centering the needs of the most vulnerable, and not resorting to vengeance and inflicting more harm.
Jen believed in a world where everyone has the ability to live a dignified and joyful life and worked toward an ecologically sustainable and deeply participatory society in which all people have access to the things they need, decisions are made by those most directly affected by them, and all people are free and equal.

The robbery that was to cost Jennifer Angel her life was described in the San Francisco Chronicle this way:
Angel Cakes owner Jennifer Angel was leaving her parking spot in the garage of the Wells Fargo on the 2000 block of Webster Street on Monday afternoon when a car pulled up in front of her and blocked her from leaving, her fiance, Ocean Mottley, told The Chronicle. A robber then broke her passenger side window and grabbed something from the car, after which Angel ran after the thieves, suspects, Mottley said.
In the process of trying to chase them down, Angel, 48, got caught in the door of the fleeing vehicle and was dragged more than 50 feet before falling in the middle of the street, hitting her head multiple several times [sic], Mottley said.

An ambulance arrived at the scene shortly after, but Angel was unable to respond to commands and was put into a medically induced coma at once she reached Highland Hospital, he added.
The scene of the crime is an upscale district full of high-rise condos, office buildings, and Oakland's cathedral, and is a block away from Lake Merritt. But evidently the affluence of the district attracted marauders looking for victims:

No arrests have been made as Oakland Police continue to search for the assailants, and "Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $7,500 in reward money for information leading to the arrests of the suspects."

There is no way to know with certainty the background of the murder or murderers, but my understanding is that most violent crime is the work of a relatively small group of habitual offenders. The fact that the assailants were cruising by, saw a potential victim, and struck suggests that this was the work of professionals, not a one-time caprice in the face of temptation. I hope the perps are caught and punished, even if Ms. Angel would rather they not be incarcerated. Other potential victims need to be protected.

In no way did Ms. Angel deserve her brutal murder. And her family and friends deserve deep sympathy for their loss. She almost certainly was kind and thoughtful in her personal life. But that does not mean that the consequences of her political advocacy should be ignored.

Who, after all, is responsible when criminals who go unincarcerated commit more crimes and victimize other people as innocent as Jennifer Angel was?

The warriors for what they call "social justice" focus their energies on protecting victimizers, casting them as the real victims...of an unjust system. But what of the real victims, such as people robbed, attacked, and even murdered?

I can only hope that some of Ms. Angel's compatriots in the SJW community will rethink their positions. But honestly, I am not hopeful.

When will they ever learn?

IN OAKLAND? WHY, WHODA THUNK IN OAKLAND?

Best drag bag for 2023?

Looking for another drag bag. I have several of the midwayusa bags and have had good luck. I would like to get another of the large size (holds about a 51” rifle)

This will be for my AI used in the field for crop damage deer shooting mainly.

I’ve been happy with the midway bags but do wish they had more side protection on the rifle. I also would like to get one really nice bag. We pack a decent amount of gear in the truck and the rifles get stacked in the weather tech tool box in the back

Would either the tac ops or eberlestock provide more protection? Thinking about picking up the black multicam bags currently in the tac ops thread

I also have a long voodoo case. Which I like and had has the added protection on the sides

So basically tac ops or eberlestock?
Which provides the best protection?

The style I want to keep using is the bag below. Not looking for backpack style.

I know several members here own both and see the eberlestock recommended more by them. Which is why I’m asking before purchasing

Might also want to build a smoke house and also invest in salt. Seems we need to crack down on those ultra dangerous, environmentally destructive refrigerators. Of course, this will create new jobs, or at least re-create jobs from days gone by. That would be a men who went out on the northern lakes and cut ice to store for summer food storage.

You’ll notice the environmentally clean transportation used to haul the ice.

Boy aren’t we lucky to have someone like hiden biden in office to protect us and ensure our safety from global warming.

(I still have that bridge for sale in London, England. Good Price on the bridge).

Looks like Army Jerry let go of a small amount of his stash.

State of Self-defense in America

This is a Tucker Carlson segment everyone needs to watch. These type of stories make my blood boil. There is a distinct course, highlighted by a clearly two-tiered justice system where - right is wrong, wrong is right. "Self-defense" is allowed if you are the criminal. The AZ ranch owner being charged for killing an invader of is property, not being able to talk with his shut-in wife, and GoFundMe shutting down is bail efforts are just heart-breaking and cruel.

RimX vertical stringing from Lapua test center lot testing

I have a new to me RimX with a proof prefit straight contour barrel that is making its way back to me from the Lapua West test center. This is my fourth rifle that had been tested there, and is only slightly better than the Kidd Super Grade - but worse than both my Vudoo and B14R.

The lot that I chose has significant vertical stringing that is apparent in the group images. The overall group size was a hair larger than the “best” lot at 100m (33.2 vs 34.4mm, edge to edge), however as you can see below, the rounds had much great vertical dispersion than horizontal, especially for the left group below.

6034035A-0BDA-4238-BBAF-EB580D3C4B18.jpeg

Question for the RimX owners - any ideas how I could address that vertical stringing? I have the tune up kit already from Zermatt that I will install as soon as I get the gun back. I have read that inconsistent firing pin strikes could cause stringing - assuming it’s not an ammo velocity issue. I also am toying with putting my tuner on, and seeing what I can see there. The tuner rode on my vudoo for a very limited time, but I gave up on it after finding my 50 yard results suffered when tuned for 200 yards.

Two other nuggets about the test center - despite shipping my rifle in the chassis, and asking it to be tested in the chassis multiple times, it was taken out of the chassis and tested in the fixture. This was quite a let down as the shipping cost was remarkably higher due to the heavier and longer package. Also, the operator said that my RimX results were consistent with what he has seen, and that the Vudoos still produce consistently the tightest groups, most in the sub 1” range. My gen 2 V22 was 5/8”.

At the $400 level, is the MRO all bad?

I spent some time doing some non-firing breaching exercises a few weeks ago and one of the rifles had an MRO on it. I was super impressed by how the optic just fell into place as I was bringing it to ready. It just so happened that the buttons on my Vrotex sparc died right after I got home and I have been considering switching it out for an MRO.

But it just seems like everyone talks major shit about them. Since it was night time I didn't notice any fishbowling, and I never got to put rounds through it, but I honestly didn't think it was terrible.

The aimpoint pro is huge and I'm not interested in a holosun chincom, and its just going on a 458 socom so I don't have the need for an LVPO.
