Physical Fitness Deadlifts?

I have recently become obsessed with deadlifts. My goal is 500#, I am currently at 375 max and doing 300 (warm up), 345 and then 360 for my sets. My question: How often should I push for an increase? None of my joints are complaining about the exercise (well, anymore than normal). Im doing them twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays.
Im 47 (almost 48) and weigh in at 176#.

This is actually the most I have ever worked this particular exercise. Im trying to focus on form and not met my ego get in the way.

Raven Euro Carbon fiber stocks

Hello everybody!

We've decided to make a thread devoted to our carbon fiber stocks to present them to you and to tell more about us and our work. This thread will also cover some of our ideas implemented into the stocks, carbon finishes, general questions - and hope that this thread will be a place of discussion and pics from our customers in USA and Canada as well.

WHO WE ARE.
We are company Raven Euro from Bulgaria. Our factory is located in Burgas and we are making carbon fiber stocks for more than 10 years. We are well-known in Europe, as our main focus was making the stocks for Blaser R8 and R93 straight-pull rifles, as they are very popular in Europe. We have our own metalwork manufacture, our own R&D and design divisions and can handle OEM manufacture of any kind of stock designs for any action.
IMG_5555 2_res_1.jpg

OUR TECHNOLOGY
We use highly advanced aerospace grade technology, utilizing prepregs and high heat and pressure processes when producing our stocks, allowing for the most stable and repeatable result. These technologies and materials are top of the line and currently are the best available on the market. The difference between prepregs and "usual" carbon fiber is the following - in simple, carbon cloth is placed into the mold, then the worker applies the epoxy resin, then another layer of material, then epoxy again, then wait for the whole composition to cure.
In this case the following can happen - the epoxy resin simply doesn't fill the material and this causes air bubbles to appear inside and work as stress concentrators. In this case the structure might be prone to twist, flex or damage as the whole structure won't be rigid. Dry zones are also a problem of hand layup.
Prepreg is the common term for a fabric which has been pre-impregnated with a resin system. This resin system already includes the proper curing agent and because of that the prepreg is ready to lay into the mold without the addition of any more resin. In order for the laminate to cure, it is necessary to use a combination of pressure and heat. Prepregs have the edge over hand layup and their main advantages are part uniformity and repeatability, as well as maximum strength properties because of the optimal fill with epoxy resin.
This sounds great - but the disadvantages are the price, which is higher if compared with "traditional" manufacture - and the nessesary equipment for high heat, pressure - and sustaining this heat and pressure for the cure to be laminated. We worked with all possible technologies and decided to go with prepregs.

OUR MODELS
As mentioned, we are from Bulgaria, EU. In Europe Blaser rifles are the most known and liked by hunters because of their multi-caliber system and because it's a straight-pull rifle. Because of it we make the stocks for Blaser models R8 and R93.
Still, we recently developed a new model of stock for Tikka T3x rifle. This bolt-action from Finland is also a popular rifle in EU, the action is used as a hunting rifle and as a base for a custom long range rifle build as well - and we decided to make a new model of stock for Tikka T3x. It is a lightweight, no flex, no twist hardcore monocoque stock that is rigid and stiff for use with any barrels. And another main advantage is that barrel channel and the trigger guard surfaces are formed, not milled afterwards, making the structure of the stock extremely rigid.
We also have an idea of adjusting the MT30 stock design to work with Remington 700 footprint and are already working on it.

Importance of changing Lop/eyerelief?

Modern High magnified scopes are really picky with eyerelief and not forgiving at all.
Mostly shooters adapt and do the best they can in the situation but I belive as I see a need of it that the distance in the future will be easy to change.
Different clothing, ballistic armour, shooting stances all are moving you’r eye away from or put it to close to the scope.
100 years ago it didnt matter if distance from eye to iron sight was 12 or 14”.
30-40 years ago magnification was way less and this the eyerelief less sensitive.

So why do we in 2022 use gear that we have to compensate by forcing neck to get closer or further away for the wrong eyerelief?

The easyest solution is to change LOP so eye comes at correct distance to the optic.

I assume for a proffessional sniper it is way more problematic as a five hour standoff in a weird shootingposition probably get very tiresome?

I been shooting Sako TRG folder since 2010 and it was an eyeopener.
Really easy to change Lop, but sadly without memory so if trying to change it on the run it can easaly be to short or to long.

On Sics chassi this was my first and most important festure, to have a quick change LOP with memory so i have two positions that I preset and then alternate betwen.
And its done in a second.

I use different LOP due to different positions and prone gets usally around 1” longer Lop.
Different clothing changes Lop a lot to.

Pictures here is for my main huntingrifle that I made a similar solution some years ago.
This is not a product, its a prototype and it makes my life easyer.

So what is you’r opinions about the eyerelief issue?
Does it bother you?

Rifle Scopes March 1.5-15x42 inquiry

Search didn’t find any discussion newer that a year ago.
Has anyone here used this scope extensively and able to give a solid review? Looking at the FD-2 reticle.

Considering it for a lightweight hunting rifle project. While SFP isn’t my first choice, the rest of the features on this scope check all my boxes. I can slum SFP on this project.

Russia's Staggering Losses In Ukraine

Russia has lost as many troops in the last 7 months of fighting in Ukraine, (almost 54,000), than we lost in 10 YEARS in Vietnam! Their equipment losses are even more staggering.

This war is going horribly wrong for Putin. It is devastating Russia both morally, as well as economically. They can't keep this up, and Putin knows it. Last week someone from his elite inner circle gave up his location. They hit his limousine, and damaged it.

Ukraine is now taking back captured Russian territory with the advanced weapons they're receiving from us and other countries. The Javelin Missiles are proving to be devastating to their tanks and armored personnel carriers.

The people of Russia are turning against him, and he is on borrowed time. It's only a matter of time before they get him. He has cost the politically powerful Russian oligarchs there billions of dollars in seized property and currency worldwide. They are NOT happy with him.... And remember, they are the ones who put him in, and keep him in power.

And even if these numbers are inflated by 50%, it is still staggering.

is this throat work acceptable?

I recently ordered a 308 barrel processed from a Bartlein 4 groove blank. At this point, I don't want to reveal the name of the company. But I received the barrel today and immediately examined it with my bore scope. The throat seems concerning: each of the lands at the throat showed at least some degrees of machine marks. In addition, in the second image, you can see this rifle land's transition is not smooth at all. In the third image, the transition of the two adjacent rifle lands is not consistent - judged from the bore scope, the three rifle lands' throats look deeper than the last one.
Should I be concerned and sent this back? This is supposed to be a precision rifle build. I don't think the throat is looking very good compared to my Wintac AI barrels. My 3 Wintac barrels have a very smooth transition in the throats, with no machine mark at all.

Strange issue with Rem 700

Here’s the breakdown, hope someone can help. I bought this Rem 700 off of here a few years back. Blueprinted, PTG bolt with Sako extractor and spiral fluting on the bolt, 2 Proof research barrels and a Chip McCormic trigger. Anyways, here’s where the strange issue started.

It shot well, 1/2 MOA still, but I wanted the heavier steel barrel and had the carbon one pulled and figured I would toss it on later if I ever wanted to hunt with it, it’s mostly used off the bench or prone. Then I had all the metal redone, went to the range and shot even better. I noticed if I ran the bolt hard I started having the sear trip, did some adjusting and it kept happening. So I yanked the trigger and ordered 1.5# Timney and the Timney HIT for my new Bergara B14R. When I pulled the CMC trigger I realized that it’s an all in one unit and I needed the spring and bolt stop, so I ordered one.

Just finished installing it all, functions perfectly, all safety checks done, love this flat trigger over the CMC. But the bolt stop, the piece the goes up into the receiver rides along the fluted bolt just enough that it causes a strange ticking sound as it glides over the flutes. Can I file that down a bit so it stops with the sound and not effect the function. It’s not hurting anything, it’s just mildly annoying. And how much can I take off before it’s an issue?

Accessories 3D printed Tac Table

Eli, My 11 year old is now making Tac Tables on his 3d printer. They are roughly 5"x8" which is the same size as a Schmedium bag. We added 1/4 holes for mounting accessories around the edges, and two along the center plane. There are also slots so you can strap a bag using the AG gear Schmedium bra, or the Wiebad gear gray ops mini plate bag. This tac table also has a built in ARCA-SWISS adapter to mount it directly to your tripod.

I have been testing this table since February and am very pleased with it. Its a great alternative to a machined table, or a good starter one.

Here are some of the other things he is making

45$ shipped CONUSA and available colors as of now is Black, Orange, and Green. If you would like a specific color, just let me know!

Optics Burris XTR III's for only $949.99

Today thru Monday the 19th, the Burris XRT III 3.3-18x50's are on sale starting at only $949.99. This is a slammin' deal if you're looking for a great made in USA scope

Designed, machined and assembled in Greeley Colorado, the new XTR III line of riflescopes featuring new reticle designs and enhanced field-of-view. Inspired by tactical and competition shooting, precision and reliability are at the core of the XTR III line of optics. Available in a 3.3-18x50mm built with a 34mm body tube for increased strength and extended adjustment range. Elevation adjustments up to 120 MOA on the 3.3-18X50mm will take the 6.5 Creedmoor past one mile. Expanded side parallax adjustment on both models allows fine-tuning focus at shorter distances.

Premium glass and optical improvements, including a smaller eyepiece signature and larger eye box, provide best-in-class field-of-view, deeper depth of focus and outstanding light transmission.

World Record Extreme Long Range Shot 4.4 Miles
