Can we talk shooting technique?

First off, fine shooter may be a big stretch. I generally shoot off a Bi-Pod/ rear Bag. My off hand (non-trigger) is used to pinch the bag to control point of aim and pull it into me. What my thumb does is still in transition (not sure which way yet). I try to do Precision style but I find on my ARs i often have better control wrapping my fat hand around the pistol grip which introduces some instability (alters recoil path) but if I need to load it more, I use that hand to pull back. A lot of this is practice and what works personally. We all develop a style for a reason. Be it physical strength/comfort or shooting style or equipment or shooting back ground.

If your MV is solid, I would guess that you need to bump your Axial form factor up a percent or two and you'll see it move things maybe .05-.1 at 800yd and make up that .3 at 1242. Verify your scope-over-bore measurement, too.

So in 4D0F I bumped the form factor up to 1.08 and that seemed to get my ballistics to line up. Now I need to figure out how to do that with the Sig software

Screaming Deals on Armalite Barrels

I bought an AR15 one precovid, was awesome. Perfect finish like you describe. Post covid.... I dont know what the F I got. Tiger stripes all over it, rough machine marks all over it, faded uneven nitride finish, all the nitride coating (its listed as NItride) is flaking off all the razor sharp edges so sharp you could shave with it. lol. The machine marks around the barrel were also rough.. The finish was the least of the problems though.... gas port in wrong location, breach was never finished. It never worked and I sent it back... all 3 that they sent me. But the finish was the worst ive seen on anything.

Nitride is just a surface treatment and doesn’t flake. It would have to be the steel it’s self chipping off. Different chemicals can change the color. The black is just carbon. It can be polished off and the surface retains its hardness and corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance.

An item I would offer for consideration is the actual rangefinder one is using. I'm not talking about Sig vs Leica, I'm talking about the exact unit in your hands.... For example if I range and true my ballistics with my Sig rangefinder, I would never trust my buddies rangefinder even if it were the exact same model. Once I've trued my hardware system, any change in that system is another variable that has to be verified.

"Over Gassed" AR's Fact or Fiction? Other Perspectives

Generally speaking, the ejection angle is the what you get when you add the ejection vector to the bolt rearward velocity vector. If your ejection vector is assumed to be pretty fixed/standard, then the variable is the rearward bolt velocity vector, and operating gas pressure is one of the main contributors to that.

Again, that assumes ejection (plunger/extractor interaction) is correct, and you can also affect it with buffer mass and spring rate, but the ejection angle is indicative of carrier velocity, regardless.

I can't find my "overgassed" video, but here's the rifle after installing an adjustable gas block. Before, with a standard gas block, the cases were smashing the rear of the ejection port and flying forward to 1 O'clock.

Precision Rifle Gear New Athlon Rangecraft Chronograph-Garmin Xero Killer?

So assuming your statement is correct and you are getting about 50% off of the public facing list MSRP price with Trijicon, then how much do you think the other competition such as Holoson is by the the time you get all the best discounts you can. probably 30% to 40% off their public facing pricing as well.

The reason you can get discounts on stuff like Trijicon these days is because they and their dealers have stiff competition from other brands.
You artificially take that away and you'll see the return of things like minimum selling prices and punishing dealers who give discounts and such like we used to see with certian optics (like PH).

MOST of the people buying RDS or similar optics for their pistols or ARs or shotguns or whatever are never going to be putting anything to "extreme use" except in their dreams. Those that do, probably also have some that they actually care about for "extreme use" and "ultimate reliability" and others that well if it has to go back for warranty service, no big deal.

When I'm buying a $300 .22 target pistol for fun at the range, I'm sure not interested in finding "a great deal" on an RDS at $450 for it, I'm looking to find a good deal on something that works at a low price, I'm looking to find a $400 Factory priced Holosun for like $200

I also own both Trijicon, and Holosun like you. Along with Leupold, Vortex, Aimpoint, in the RDS market and have also owned the ancient Insight brand and cheaper stuff such as Ameriglow and such over the past years.

Same things with scopes, S&B used to be what I bought then they decided to jack the prices "because they can" and so I went to other brands as well, Vortex used to be my go to brand for anything not S&B/ZCO/March level (still don't have a TT yet), but they started hiking their prices hugely so stuff from PA or Athlon started filling the gap for all the low end stuff where things didn't make sense.

My point is NOT that Holosun or others are "the same as" or "better than" Trijicon or whatever folks think is the greatest or whatever.
My point rather is that the stiff and increasing competition over the past 7 or 8 years has helped us all by driving innovation and putting a cap on how much can be charged before people swap to the competition.
Innovation and responding to market demands has been the biggest outcome regardless of what you buy and has helped us all have more and better stuff.

LOL I’m not reading your novel dude. I made it through your first paragraph of rambling and you’re not getting 30-40% off of Holosun shit, there’s not that much markup in it. Dealers will do 10-15% off at the most and many won’t do any discount. Regardless you’re still comparing MAP to MSRP because you don’t understand how shit works.

Kahles vz ZCO

I've run both. Currently have the ZCO 527 NLE 15 mil. The ZCO has the edge in regards to glass and turret feel. What stood out to me about the Kahles was parallax. Besides being on top and easy to reach, was the that I rarely ever needed to adjust it. It always seemed in focus regardless of magnification.

There was awhile there when you could get a used Kahles for a bargain price. That would make it very easy for me to buy the Kahles over the ZCO. The DLR and the 10 mil turret with left side windage could sway me away from the ZCO. I have no complaints about the ZCO, I just like the setup of the DLR.

It would be hard to go wrong with either. Decide what matters most to you, and pick the one that fits those needs.

Side note: If you're running this on a .22lr, I'd stay w/ the 15 mil turrets. There's a lot of elevation adjustments needed for .22lr and I feel the 15 mil fits that use case better than the 10 mil.

Woox customer service sucks

I will say because Woox doesn’t have a number. I will be going through a dealer and making the dealer responsible. I can call MDT or B&C ext to have an issue fixing and talk to a real person. I have had to call many manufacturers and got people on the phone. I should not have to play the email game. Again. Call fix the issue and fallow up with a email for a paperless trail.
Its customers like you that are likely the reason for them not having a phone number.
