Nope! If I had an illuminated reticle it might be a little better, but not a problem when you can change color pallets. You need the low end to usually back out to see menus.

Mags and mag springs , I have seen discussions in the past about people looking into clock type springs , why won’t these work ?
It would seem to work great in theory , with all the extra space in your mag design behind the actual 22 mag column you could put the wound clock spring back there , I don’t know

Forgot to mention the cock on closing of the p17 was never popular though it could be changed. The extractor was weak. That rear sight and metal around it. It was just never seen as better than much of anything.

The problem there is the RD15 is specifically designed for full reliability and low mass system have notoriously been known for stoppages once the platform becomes compromised with fouling.

But yes they do make for a smooth shooting rifle and if you're not using it for rifle training classes or anything that will have prolong run times without cleaning they are quite enjoyable.

Probably helped that the ‘03 was readily available in National Match configuration, not to mention 1903 “T” match rifles(ain’t that what they’re called @cplnorton ?)

@168BTHPM I’ve always lusted after a Remington Model 30(but would much prefer a pre-64 or even a newer FN produced Winchester M70… or a Winchester M54!)..

I would love to get my hands on a clone of Ben Comfort’s custom 1917/Rem M30 but instead chambered in .280 Sherman or .300 Sherman(basically a 7mm/.280 Gibbs or .300 Gibbs but using .270 brass to get a little bit longer neck).
