Rifle Scopes New for 2025, the Kahles K540i

March sponsored shooter. And while I generally don’t have a problem with pumping a company you rep this is a little over the top. Been using the k540 for a while now and I no longer own the March 5-42 gen 2. Take that for what it’s worth. I did like a lot of its features and I like March a lot as a company but it isn’t super PRS ready yet. I was running the ZCO 840 and TT 735 most recently and switch between the 3 based on well whatever I feel like. The k540 isn’t perfect but the eyebox isn’t tight. Even at 40x when I’m zeroing my gun.
You literally have NEVER used the PRS model of the scope so incredibly misleading post to say the least. In fact have you ever even seen the March PRS edition in person, no you haven’t.

There is a PRS edition of the scope for a reason and comparing the standard March 5-42 Gen 2 to the 540 isn’t the correct comparison, nor is it the optic I’m speaking of.

Love it or hate it and believe what you’d like there have been several occasions where shooters have compared the PRS Edition March to the kahles and the general consensus was that the March is in fact a better all around package for PRS.

Increasing the ocular AOV of a scope will increase overall FOV however it does in fact make the eyebox tighter and shorter, this isn’t my opinion it’s actually how optics work in general. Kahles put a 52mm ocular on the 540 to combat this issue and while it did help some the optic is actually difficult to maintain sight picture under recoil. In fact so much so several of the sponsored shooters for Kahles do not run this model and have stayed with the 525 DLR.

The turrets on the March are in fact better and the Kahles windage turret is in fact small, has entirely too tight click spacing, and overall is difficult to turn which is compounded by the anti spin feature that when grabbed between knurling basics means you have to grab the entire turret with your hand.

The glass in the kahles just flat out isn’t as good as the March and it’s been compared side by side over and over and virtually everyone who looks through the March is blown away by the glass quality and its ability to cut mirage which is does flat out better than the market ZCO and Theta included.

Kahles has also already had some issues with the 540 and shooter have had to send them back, I’m sure Kahles will get this sorted but let’s be real here…. The Kahles isn’t perfect and to shit in an optic you’ve never used is poor taste at best.

I am also not some spnsored shooter for March I am the designer behind the prs scope and the reticle designer and of course I have a bias opinion. The reality is my opinion isn’t the one I am speaking of here it’s various other Shiites who have indicated this with direct comparisons.

Elon Musk announces the "American Party"

TL;DR

Morality is subjective and fluid.

But you won't get much traction on that because everybody believes their morals are the correct morals.
This is certainly the case with western Buddhists and other religions.

Christianity at least attempts an objective take with the 10 commandments. These too however are a matter of interpretation. “Thou shall not kill” for example is interpreted as thou shall not murder. Murder being yet another word that is up for interpretation, depending on where you’re sitting when the switch gets flipped…….
It depends on where you source your 'morality'. Mine comes from physics.

"Every action has an equal and opposite reaction."

For that reason I choose to treat others as I wish to be treated, with kindness and respect, because thats what I want coming back. Some. using the same concept from the Bible, might phrase it:

"You reap as you sow."

Pretty simple concepts until you confuse it all with a bunch of religious dogma.

XLR Chassis Build Thread

Thanks. It’s my design and 3D printed in Carbon Fibre Polycarbonate. I wanted something that matched the C6 better than the stock bag rider.
Would you be interested in making some and selling them? I’d definitely like to buy one. Gun looks sick.

What speeds and how do you like the PVA chambered barrel?

What type of accuracy are you getting out of it?

Thinking of buying one from PVA during his sale. Thanks, Jim

“Texas Plinking” 1 MOA/1K Yard Challenge Videos

Firstly, amazing shooting. Congrats on the second round hit with that exceptional set-up.

What was the altitude difference between where you shoot in Co versus the location in Tx? Do you manage to get into competitions much or just having fun plinking steel?

Congratulations again

Thank you! Density altitude is typically around 7000' to 8000' where I normally shoot and if I remember correctly it was just over 3000' when we shot the challenge. Elevation was .3 mil more at the lower altitude.

I have shot and won some shorter range competitions at the local range, but nothing long range yet. I hope to get into some longer range / ELR type competitions, but realize I have some work yet to do with reading the wind.

When I see things like this, I'm certain we need another civil war. It's beyond time to eliminate these folks.

Meh… seen plenty of self-professed “Christians” ‘round these parts wishing similar things (or worse) on Libs.

Y’all need to read Proverbs 24:17-18.

Religion is the cause of most conflicts and wars for the past thousands of years. Get rid of religion, get rid or war. Thats how retarded the human population is, fighting and arguing over whos imaginary master is the best. The more 3rd world the country the more religious is it. It seems to follow the IQ level. The more intelligent ones understand that religion is a coping method invented for the weak to help them, and then theres those that use it to control. Its like a drug, small doses is harmless, but once you get into a buildings that cost millions and have followers, goofy costumes and rituals, no different than tweakers and just as dangerous if not more.

Interesting because communism holds your same belief, calling religion the opioid of the people. However it is the atheistic communists who have killed many more millions of people in their own countries than any religious war.

Further it is dumb to say most wars are started because of religion. Most wars are started because of resources and land, not religion. Now the powers that be will often leverage religion to their ends to secure said resources , but it’s not the cause. Actually it is Christianity that has ended a number of wrongs, the transatlantic slave trade being a big one

So whats you plan, for when the grid an/or net drops?

Wrong, you need to find someone for your group that has ability's.

A Steam engine can power anything if you think out of the box, The one linked is now powering 2, 150 amp DC single wire GM alternators. One alt could be pulled off and an automotive style Freon compressor can be added and used if one is smart enough to configure the rest of that system.

I built this one long ago before giving it to them in 2021, the bore is 5 1/2 & stroke is 9.875 w/power in both directions. Its running on shop air in the video at IIRC 60 PSI, threw a 1/4" opening, on steam its a 1" feed, and at fill load just on air there was/is no RPM change. I gave it to the guy (& his group) that took the short video along w/ the open tube boiler that makes 100psi. I built that just for proof of concept. Everything on it was be sourced & made from what Gucci people call junk from a wrecking/junk yard. Most people can't think out of the box, the main reason if/when the grid drops the 90% die off is about right.

edit for fat fingers & another way

If you're just looking for refrigeration it can also be done with aqua/ous ammonia and a heat source, even a simple wood fire will do. You can attain temps with that, well below any home deep freeze if you do it right.
Fascinating.....I stand corrected. I never considered steam engines a means of running a compressor.

The vatican helped all the nazis escape after the war. Cant get any more real than that. All modern day religion is is a way to extort and control people and touch kids (yes they are all false prophets). The bible has been retranscribed and rewritten so many times a Dr. Suess book is about as relevant. Its all made up with a few references to past events, distorted over the years into nonsense and camp fire stories. Having beliefs is one thing, normal, but when people base their life and lifestyles on them ... thats a mental disorder. The need and desire to be controlled or commanded by a imaginary higher power. Why do people want to be slaves? Why would one want a master? I worship no one, no one is my master. I think Jesus was a joke.... literally. Apparently he was never even written about till hundreds of years after he lived. And also could be the product of a roman soldier raping a women. We dismiss all logical explanations and jump to the "feel good" story. Why? He may have never even existed. One man, one story... Way less complex than WMD's that never existed either. The one simple answer to why all this exists and why people follow it.... Fear. Its kind of sad I think to be so driven by emotions that all logic escapes... but then again look how popular it is, all the lunatics that are freaking out over politics and govt, voting with emotions, all the people that ran to get jabbed.....etc.. Its in out nature. Human flaw.

On a side note. Flooding in Texas I thought was pretty normal. I thought a dam broke or something, but no, just heavy rain. Why were these people not aware of being on a flood plain? I would imagine living in an area and the geography, flood safety would be taught regularly and approaching rain storms would be taken seriously. ??
You are citing pop scholarship people like Billy Carson who are 100% verifiability false. Jesus was not first written about 100s of years after he lived. How do we know, we have copies of the gospels that date to the first and second centuries. There is some debate on the dating of the Gospels, but most scholars would say they date from the first century AD. Heck we have first century letters from the church fathers who were reading and commenting on the NT writings. They could only be writing and commenting on the scriptures in the first century if the scriptures were already there. Sorry but to claim Jesus wasn’t written about till 100s of years after he lived is categorically and verifiably false.

There is no evidence to support my claim that things were added
Ok so at least you admit that. A belief based on no evidence is not a good one and requires a lot of faith. Also wouldn’t you rather embrace a belief that is supported by historical evidence?

just my lifetime observing human nature. I've seen nothing in 15th century kings that would lead me to believe they were beyond suspicion, nor any monarch from any other time or place.
Well the NT books all date from the first century AD, so well before the 15th century. Additionally the NT books and letters were never originally transmitted by kings. In fact it was illegal to be a Christian up until the 300s. The fact is all the original NT texts were transmitted by Christian scholars concerned with maintaining the original words of their Messiah/Christ and the words of the Apostles.

Were there monarchs that twisted the texts in the Middle Ages? Sure. But we know they twisted them because we have the original early manuscripts.

At one time I spoke a handful of languages, and I can promise you that by the time you translate something a couple of times, you've entirely lost the original message.
But that’s not how biblical translation works. They don’t base translations on previous translations, they go back to the original Greek manuscripts.

There is no direct translation for so darn many cultural terms, an unbelievable number of words, on and on. They cannot be correctly conveyed no matter who is doing it, it's just not how it works. So when you hit those spots where a direct translation cannot be achieved, someone had to make a judgement call and get it as close as they could. Again, that's a lot of faith in humans. Have you met many of them? I think they got most of the intent correct, but it is not the infallible word of God, in my opinion. I am no biblical scholar, I just don't trust people.
True yes with in any translation there is a certain level of interpretation, but that does not mean we do not know what was meant. Koine Greek (what the NT is written in) is not like Sanskrit. Koine (which means common) Greek is probably one of the most widely spoken and circulated languages in antiquity. In fact it was more widely used and spoken in the Roman Empire than Latin. What that means is we have a massive body of contemporaneous sources that can help us translate and understand the mean of words. Add in the fact that Greek is still a living language that has been spoken for thousands of years, and it makes translation much easier.

You may be right that religion has been the basis for numerous deadly wars over the course of documented world history. However, a nation not founded upon religious principles is doomed for very early collapse. A successful nation can't be built without a common belief/faith among it's people. Religions have come and gone over the course of history and they will continue to do so. I firmly believe that if our Christian country didn't continue to be Christian and continue to exhibit our "In God We Trust" motto, America would have been long gone before anyone of us were born.
