Nas3 308 Brass

I received a batch of the Shellshock 308 Win casings. The company has zero communication skills. I left several messages via email/phone and received no responses. I also received zero shipping info but the brass did arrive after 6 days so not bad but the lack of communication annoyed me.

The brass itself looks terrible. Its filthy unlike the photos they provide on their website where it all looks new. What I received looks like 5 week old nickel range brass. Pretty ugly.

I threw some of it in the stainless media to clean it up. We will see how it turns out. The annealing marks are almost 3/4 of the way down the case length....kinda weird. The 300blk casing I bought previously looked MUCH better.

My only guess is that they coat them in some kinda of oil during packaging. The bag is covered in it.

The interesting part is the H2O capacity. My alpha (unfired) srp brass holds 54.8 grains of water BUT the SS Nas3 holds 57!!! That is a massive difference.

My plan is too load some up tomorrow with my current 308 recipe and see how it goes.

Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

Reading was so important to me as a kid. I read Watership Down and all of the Chronicles of Narnia in 3rd grade. Where the Red Fern Grows, The Hobbit, Robinson Crusoe and many others followed.

I searched out and bought some nice copies a couple of years ago for my grandson to have when he is older.

Here is a portion of them. Most are excellent condition former library books.

Read “Where the Ref Fern Grows” probably a dozen times growing up. Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, Swiss Family Robinson, Ole Yeller, Savage Sam and others were staples, as well. Around age 10 I found a book written by a marine who served in the 1st Division on Peleliu and Okinawa. After that I devoured books on American wars.

Method relieving stock barrel channel for larger diameter barrel Questions

I got the job done. It appears pretty even on the margin space all around the barrel. With the new Lilja, ammo feeds, fires, and ejects just fine. So, I guess it's headspaced properly. With the Receiver and shank measurements, I shimmed for .042" headspace. I wound up using a deep well socket and sand paper. Thanks for the help folks! 👍

My 10 year old (5th grader) is a 4 time million word reader. He’s reading books that my high school sophomore nephew hasn’t read yet because his reading level isn’t as high lol. We encourage reading as does his school. Kid got up at 6 this morning and read for an hour

Maggie’s The Welding and Metalworking Thread

I think micarta is disgusting to work with. I ran every time they had a project that used it.

Stank like horse glue and itched like fiber glass.

But ours was millspec.
Can't argue with that.

On the other hand, it's hard wearing, stable, grippy when wet and I've got shitloads in the workshop.

I just respirator up and get on with it.

So much truth here! Too many of the “Classics” either bored me to tears or depressed me a lot. Tracy Hickman, James H. Schmitts, Louis L’Amour, Tom Clancy, Clive Cussler, and others kept my love of reading alive

^^^This! Hidden in plain sight inHarry Potter were the histories of WW2, King Arthur, socialism, British being gits in general, and endless life lessons like loyalty, friendship and “Who Dares Wins.”

Don’t care what they are reading if it gets them immersed in books!

Except Twilight. Twilight is still ghey!

So fertility rates are plunging because men don’t make sammiches?

Lock your woman and your dog in the trunk for an hour, and see which one is happy to see you when you open it back up.

A majority of women these days just aren't worth sticking your dick in because of the bullshit that comes along for the ride.

Unless you want to be like @Bigfatcock who said "buy assets, rent women."

Remember what Frank Sinatra said… “I don’t pay women for sex. I pay them to leave.”

I have given considerable thought about posting this. And I still don’t know. But it addresses a couple of issues; slavery and the common worth of man in the US back in the early days, especially the Irish. I have a lot of thoughts about a lot of things because of life experiences abroad and I wonder about things coming full circle.

We all should take time to consider if we are here because of the sacrifices that were made. Granted it was different times. But here we all are.
