House Budget Proposal to remove Tax on Suppressors but not remove it from the NFA

But then, we sometimes tend to screw ourselves with our own greed. I hope this isn't true, Silencer Central.

Aero Solus stock barrel change is absolute war

I'm with Rob on this one... I've removed god-only-knows-how-many factory Savage (and before that, Remington) barrels using an old vise that looks very much like the Viper but without the fancy finish. You don't need more than that if you do it right. The 'bling' vises might make it easier, or faster, but be honest with yourself - how often are you really going to be dicking around changing barrels? For some people it might make sense / be worth it. For most people, it's more of a status symbol.

DPG Action Extraction Update.......Getting closer to production every day.....

I am thinking the same thing. Maybe it difficult to tell from the video and pictures. I see this uses a puller and a pusher design like most other less the Rim X. The only real difference I see is a tighter grip on the case rim by the extractor vs most others. I am definitely interested in learning more about the action.

That is a Vudoo bolt in the pictures too.

Silencer Central, if true Phuck them!

There’s a thousand on line gun stores all making money, selling non-NFA firearms and shipping them to brick and mortar stores every day. If Silencer Shop Central’s business is so fragile that they can’t do what every e-store in America does every day. Fuck them.

That said, I don’t think removing silencers from the NFA materially affects SC’s business. Why? Because of the above mentioned gun stores. And, because of all of SC’s competitor on line silencer stores that thrive in the environment while still shipping to a B&M for pick up.

Hell, I have a pile of suppressors and “how do I get this to my house” was like the eleventeenth worry. Honestly, drive 20 minutes to pick it up or sweat while is bounces around the US in the back of a “mail van.” Yeah, I’ll pick it up. Thank you very much.

Will they need to innovate their business model? Yes.

But, maintaining the status quo is the easy button for them. I’d guess that laziness (just do what we’ve always done), and the above mentioned super fudd are the biggest causes.

Oh, and I can’t even with The VSO Gun Channel. “Guys, I just heard about this and had to make a video. (AKA, someone else posted a video and I gotta get in on some of those views)- 5minutes of blather without any good info.- “Ok, gotta pay the bills.”- 5 more minutes of inane blather.- Anyway, tell me what you think in the comments.” Ten to 15 minutes gone. Nothing gained.

AR10 headspace

If you’re purely trying to establish the accuracy of the cartridge maybe. But if you want to establish the accuracy of your rifle system, you need to introduce heat to the barrel and barrel extension. This is what running it in a comp or fight is going to do. The round getting pre heated inside the barrel extension is going to change the velocity. The barrel heating up is going to cause POI shift. Are we using these things for bench shooting or to fight/compete with?

Not necessary headspace is preset.
Although that is the idea, getting a barrel and bolt from a "guy at the range" could be iffy. If you really know the guy and the guy that he had do the headspace, odds are it won't be a problem.

Of course, having at least a no go gauge on hand is never a bad idea, as is checking headspace.

Aero Solus stock barrel change is absolute war

I woke up this morning with what felt like a fucking hangover!

I totally forgot the whacking steps. I attached a regular ratchet to the 7/8th driver on the back of the action wrench and beat the snot out of that thing with a brass hammer. I think it actually bent.

Thankfully I brought all my own tools to my buddies shop. Except the barrel vise, that was his.

I was being cheap trying to get away without spending the $300 on a barrel vise I wasn't sure how many times more I would use.

The super glue is a great idea, I would have totally tried something like that.

The painters tape didn't protect that barrel at all, when it slipped it ripped through the tape and the finish under it.

Im about to head to the range though, so it's all worth it.

$300 for a barrel vise? That’s carazy. They are under $100 and you should get one. Below is one but a bunch of others out there.

And painters tape is a horrible idea. Use cardboard or a piece of leather or an old toilet paper roll cut lengthwise and tight around barrel.

Ukraine war Bullshit.

Speaking of Propaganda. If you are following the news you might see western media making a big deal that Putin did not show up in Istanbul. Well neither did Zelensky, he landed in Ankara, not were the meet was supposed to take place.

More twisting of the facts to suit the narrative.

Its almost like they are trying to shit public opinion of this meeting down the drain before it even happens.

Pretty sad they are this averse to a peace process. The bullshittery is thick on all sides.

I'm not reading any Russian media, so I'm not sure what they are saying on that side, but our side is surely trying to paint a picture of a lot of barriers to peace, as if it just isn't possible.

Its almost like they don't want peace. Weird.

XM7 worries from the field.

SIG keeps winning Army contracts because they keep delivering exactly what the Army asks for. Nothing really sinister about it.
Big Army doesn’t know what they want. They think they do…

Almost like they need a team of E-3’s through E-7’s [thinking independently of politically motivated brass], and who have recently been operational, to test and evaluate new potential tools to further evaluate for acquisition… wait, where have I seen this before?

Seekins SP10 vs JP & GAP10G2

I have no experience with the rifles above, but have a 6.5 Creed in a AR-10. You mentioned that you don't reload. I would suggest Norma 130 Match. With a BC of .581 and velocity of 2750 fps from a 18" barrel and .750 moa from my Bartlein barrel. It's worth a look and affordable.
I will probably end up Reloading. I haven’t reloaded in 10 years. Still have all my stuff. But absolutely will get commercial ammo. Never been a fan of reloading. Just not something I enjoyed. I do love normal ammo so i will check it out.

I ended up getting a seekins sp10

@DarnYankeeUSMC , I’m just wondering how someone with “Yankee” in their name is telling people not to move to Tennessee because it’s full. 🤣. I will add that the corner around the Bristol area is some of the prettiest country I’ve ever seen. We have a house in Ashe county NC, right beside there. Beautiful place.
Father was nomadic so I have lived in about every part of the country. My first visit here was in 87 and decided that once out of the USMC that I would move here and never leave. I got out in 91 and headed right here. I quickly found out that iffin ya ain't from here (born here) yer a Yankee. Doesn't matter where you're from except for a few states that they use specific terms for like Alabama, Florida and a couple others.
