This. If pillar height(area that is sandwiched between bottom metal and action) is thinner on new stock, the action screws will protruding into lug recess and lock up or cause drag on bolt operation. I could also see that shorter height cause mag to bottom out on action(possibly drag on bolt too) and not actually get latched in properly, thereby ejection itself under recoil.

A couple of my friends are into cars, one is buying an M3 Competition and another has been poking me for years to buy a fun car. I found a 1993 Porsche 968 Club Sport for sale which would be cool, or I've thought about a BMW Z M-roadster and supercharging it. Or something along those lines, there's worlds of options.

I trust the Bear Pit for positive life advice and out of the box thinking, so whatcha got bear pit? Car, boat, or something I haven't thought of?

For me, it’s always cars/trucks/guns…rinse and repeat. Used to race motorcycles too, but those days are past, and there’s no way I’d ride a street bike around here.

Sounds like you enjoy sports cars, so I’d buy a used Porsche Cayman or Boxster and get into auto crossing. It’s a great way to learn car handling with very low risk. Or maybe a Miata and get into spec Miata racing…that’s a hoot!

Anyways, looking for recommendations on a watch in the $800-$1,000 range that is robust, small crown, but quality.

I don’t know shit about women’s watches so thought I might reach out here as your knowledge supersedes mine.

All of the ones I would buy are going to be half the cost of a kdg bravo chassis. Hard to recommend 200+ bucks bottom metal for a factory stock like that. Get a factory bottom metal off of ebay or something. There is a legacy international replacement but its proprietary mags. Might work for you but I cant guarantee it will be better than what you have now.

Going to try Federal Auto Match since it is 325/$19.99 at WM but reportedly Federal is problematic. Remington Golden Bullets are supposed to run as well.

We use to do work for Pemex (Mexican Gov't Oil Company) . They would fly in a C-130, we'd load two 212's in it. They would borrow a company truck, go to Walmart and buy tv's, bikes, food, stereos, window units all kind of shit, then pack, stuff and cram it in the aircraft. That fucking thing was packed to the ceiling. We were at an old Navy base, the run way was 8000' with a 1000' run off on each end. We'd stand on the taxiway and bet if the plane would get airborne? It sure used up almost all of the runway, but that pig flew!
