Entry level gun and scope

for 1000 and the odd time at a mile I'd look at 6.5 or even 7 PRC. I'd go for the Bergara over the Browning.
CVA actually came out with some decent rifles for reasonable also that are a touch cheaper than a Bergara.

Athlon Cronus is a really good scope for the money, could go to an Ares ETR for a bit cheaper. Even a Midas Tac if you wanted. Gonna wanna put it in a mount with some cant to get all the elevation out of it

armanov free-float rings

Used Horandy rings for 5+ years, no issues (along with assorted lee, etc).

This might be part of the problem. Those Hornady (and Lee, etc.) die rings were meant to be tightened with a wrench into the press. The die rings were intended to be tightened to the point of taking a fair bit of rotational force. Most 'floating' die rings are meant to be snugged down just enough to keep the ring from turning by hand. They were never designed for 'gorilla tight'.

In case anyone is interested....

In France "Chat GPT" translates phonetically to "The Cat Farted." (Le Chat je Pete... The cat, I farted).

So all over France people are asking "Is the farting cat going to take your job?" "Was that meme created by the farting cat?"

Not since the Chevy no va was introduced in Mexico or the Buick La Crosse was introduced in Quebec... has such a product launch become such a butt of jokes. Cat butt, that is. Farting cat.

I had to look up the Buick reference.

I’m lost. You’re saying T1x 22LR mags are AICS pattern?
Unless I'm mistaken there was some discussion about going away from, or atleast not necessarily doing an R700 foot print action.

The main reason to stick with R700 is there is the largest aftermarket options for R700, however if you did stray from that Tikka would have to be 2nd best aftermarket options (chassis, stock, triggers etc).

I'm assuming any action foot print that is used will take AICS magazines, while T1x magazines are not AICS a new 22lr that was Tikka based could be made with AICS in mind.

It would seem AICS magazines are going to be the standard for 22lr, with even the Europeans (Victrix and Anschutz) are going that direction.

If that all makes sense.

Comey being investigated for wanting to 86 the 47th.

86 has always meant to shit can or throw away to me and those that used it.
Comey is a lawyer and a top notch word smith. Whatever his intentions were are only known to him. It's use was skirting the edge allowing him to get away with it.
I predict that after a long investigation the results will be a waste of time. Results will be....." No reasonable prosecutor would bring charges".
In other words. It's just another distraction to keep the people pitted against each other instead of focusing on their government fucking them royally.

All The World Is A Stage. You are being played

XM7 worries from the field.

Is that why we want Greenland? Because there's no threat?

Extestential threat is not why we get sucked into wars. It's our position as a leading Nation and what we think our responsibility to the rest of the world is. That was Reagan's mindset and we got sucked into Beirut. That's why all the sudden we're mediating between Pakistan and India now. That's why we got sucked into Vietnam. That's why we got sucked into helping South Korea. That's how we got into the first Gulf war. It's our self-image as a free Western society. That and a competition for global resources. And by extension competition for a strategic position for future resources that we have yet to identify. And it's absolutely the current administrations mindset on attempting to meditate/ assist in UKR right now. That's why the deal we struck was based on minerals.

What you are saying is not true. It's just rhetoric.

You should listen to that book by Jack Carr about Beirut. Just for starters. It's on audiobooks and it's a decent listen

No sir, nothing I said is rhetoric.

I don't want to get off topic here, so I'll make it quick.

In a single sentence, please write an explanation for our involvement in each of these situations:

1. The Korean war
2. The Vietnam War
3. Desert storm
4. OIF
5. OEF

It's the cold war, the red scare, nuclear proliferation, the spread of communism, the threat of chemical warfare, the scary Muslims, now the Chinese standing army, the Iranian threat, bla bla bla. It's all bullshit, every single one of them. We ran out of credible enemies after WW2, but the war supply economy made us the foremost superpower in the world, so in absence of a credible threat, agents within the government combined with private sector agitators have continually fed the American people paper tigers as credible threats to keep the trillions flowing to the mic companies. This is a fact. A short study of history will quickly prove that the number one perpetrator of attacks that launch America into wars are carried out by America, or facilitated by in some cases, or allowed to happen at a minimum. Money is the driving factor for everything, and nothing makes more money than war.

Edited to add: our military should absolutely be ready and capable of defeating the might of the Chinese military, and we are, but they should stay domestic, and stop meddling in everyone else's business, and it won't happen. People start starving to death in China within a month of developed nations refusing to continue to buy their cheap bullshit products. They can't afford to wage war, and their citizens would be next to useless in a large scale conflict.
