Rifle Scopes New bushnell XRS3 has illumination!!

I emailed Bushnell asking when they would have more DMR3's with the EQL reticle in stock and got a response from them the same day. Hopefully its a sign they're turning things around regarding CS.

I'm impatient and found a used one here on the hide and bought it instead. This will be my second DMR3 - I regretted selling my first one back in January. I also recently bought one of their Match Pro ED 3-18's for my "practice" gun and have been really impressed with it for the price.

I have owned most everything in the $1500-2000+ range - NF ATACR's, NX8's, Mark 5HD's, T6xi's etc, and the DMR3 has been one of my favorite scopes to get behind. I wish it wasn't, because I'm shallow and Bushnell makes ugly looking scopes (come on Bushy, the "Elite Tactical" branding looks cheesy af), and you get zero cool points for having a Bushnell on your gun, which is actually important to me. But the truth is, Bushnell makes a pretty good scope.

6.5 Creedmoor 140 Hybrid Freebore

Try to run them around 2.810 and see how they like it. I’m running the same bullet at 41.5 grains around that seating depth and it’s a laser. The jump is over .100.. .125 iirc. Had trouble at mag length and just ran depth tests from 2.87 down to 2.780 and found a sweet spot around 2.800 and 2.820View attachment 8711571

What can I do with an Air Force N-8A Gunsight?

Couldn't resist since it's working. An Air Force N-8a reflx/holographic/heads up gunsight from WWII. Used on M2 .50 machine guns in the B-17. I'm thinking it will go great with my Elysium AK. I'll have to install a dual 9v in series (18v) battery box, probably in the buttstock.

9mm pistol practice ammo

Moving adjustable pistol sights constantly tends to be a bad idea, eventually they'll give out, though I could just have a backup set on hand and do that and deal with having to do as such.

I've got blazer 124s and I've got Speer 124s coming, I ran some Speer 135s and they didn't shoot super great, the critical duty and Sig Elite blah blah 124 hollow points are more accurate then I've been with a pistol thus far accurate.

And I've repeated it multiple times as I've been testing a fair bit. It'll be hard for me to go to a defensive round that's less accurate, though the probability I end up in a defensive battle at 25yds is really null, and sub 10yds the others are fine enough.

I just hate to move from rounds performing so great, they also cycle and get lock back consistently.

This is a 3.25" size 2011 with a twin top port compensator and a single port on each side I milled in. Not an "eat anything" type of gun at this point, she likes rounds with some pep.

I'll need to keep on with the trial and error it seems, if things end the same I may either need to adjust my sights between practice and defensive rounds, or, go with a less accurate defensive round that jives with a practice round.

Just odd how far the spread is between some of these different ammos at 25yds, had me thinking there must be something I'm missing.

Wipe out bore cleaner

I was convinced Wipeout was all I’d ever need. Thought it was stripping everything out of the bore. Then a few years ago I started experiencing pressure issues. Figured it was a carbon ring. Tried all kinds of carbon cleaner…nope. CLR on a patch and the black carbon ring came out in pieces. I could shoot that load again. But not for too long. Started getting heavy bolt lift and flat primers. Backed my load off quite a bit but was still getting max load velocities and high pressure a couple grains under book max. So this time I bought a borescope. That’s when I realized wipeout sucks on carbon. My barrel was black! Bought Carb Out, and boretech carbon remover, as well as automotive stuff. I was plugging the barrel and filling it up with solvent over night and none of them would remove the carbon, even with brushing.

Right at the same time I was battling this a friend sent me a link to Thorroclean. I bought some and after a few minutes work the barrel was spotless. Since then I have found that the Thorroclean struggles with copper fouling towards the end of my barrel. So I use it to strip out the carbon, then a follow up with wipeout gets the remaining copper. I’ve never used an abrasive prior and have not used any others since Thorroclean. I’m pretty satisfied although Frank has me a little nervous and cautious.

I would say that I completely ate up the Wipeout marketing and claims on the can. Yeah, the patches did come out clean, but the barrel sure didn’t. The borescope doesn’t lie, but the patches may.

New purchase - MATCH PRO ED 3-18X50 RIFLESCOPE

So, I got mine a few days ago.. for the 620 shipped from eurooptic.. Im pretty happy with it. Im an optic snob but I also cant put 2.5k+ scopes on every rifle I use and some of those high end models didn't fill the niche I was trying to fill besides the khales 3-18. I wanted this to work well with a thermal clip on.. AGM TC50.. and lpvos have a huge amount of paralax useing clip ons so parallax adjustment and wide Field of view and this optic checked all my boxes besides durability and clarity. I own the new XRS3 currently and had an HDMR2 so I am no stranger to bushnell. I did a 10 mill target test and it was well within 1% error with some wiggle on my end. Tracked well when zeroing took 3 shots. The clarity to me is in the realm of strike eagles or vortex pst.. I haven't been behind a 3.6-18 leupold. But it doesn't touch a nx8, atacr, gen2 razor and an xrs in clarity. It is extremely bright compared to most optics in this price range. Here some pics at 2400 yards at 3 and 18 magnification taken around 1845 hrs today.
