This war is beyond anything we can imagine from the standpoint of absolute drone control over the battlefield and logistics ,little to no counter to the drone threat by either side.
''Frontline realities of 2025:
Small groups fight a huge war over wast landscapes. A "stronghold" can be held by a handful: two, three, or four people. The line of contact has completely changed. In 2023, our task was to bring a company of ten BMP-3s into a village. Even back then, this was difficult.
Now the equipment is parked tens of kilometers from the LBS. If in 2023, those same BMP-3s worked as tanks, now they are unlikely to reach a position from which they can fire. And it's not because armor is outdated , they simply cannot be systematically protected and covered from the main weapon of destruction—kamikaze drones.
I'll describe what the journey to the Line of Contact looks like for an ordinary infantryman. It's now a real trek. With all your junk, 30 kilos of it, you are dropped off 10-15 kilometers from the point where you will fight the war. In some areas, the trek can be up to 30 kilometers. There are places where, under the cover of the forest, you can get to within a few kilometers to the LBS. Beyond the supply points, only ATVs, dirt bikes, and electric scooters of varying degrees of power travel. The concept of "rear" now begins 50 kilometers from the LBS.
The hardest part is getting there. Roads and communication routes are mined. From drones. Homemade mines are stuffed into first-aid kits, the bodies are mined , petals mines are dropped by the dozens on the trails, and large magnetic mines are placed where tracks are visible. If you don't know what mines look like, you're sure to step on one.
The journey in and out is the most dangerous part. Mavic drones constantly track movements and are ready to instantly transmit coordinates to the FPV crew or some battery. At the LBS itself, in the dugout, it's not as dangerous as on the way to it. It's now common practice for guys to sit in the trenches for a month or two, pull through without losses, only to run into trouble upon extraction from line of contact.
There's no regular supply. Everything is brought in on foot. The best you can count on is a brash motorcyclist who's not afraid to ride the gauntlet drop of supplies and immediately ride away. At night, the evil spirits wake up. Huge drones (Baba Yaga)with thermal imagers drop mortar shells. If you don't find a dugout for cover, by sunset, you're dead.
This is where the main problem arises. Accumulating forces and maintaining them in large numbers on the LBS is now impossible. This is true for both sides. To correct the situation and begin to win systematically, we need many ATVs, large supply drones, small evacuation buggies, and interceptor drones. Now they're all "off-the-shelf"—bought independently or cobbled together through humanitarian aid workers.
Total atomization is taking place. Small groups of soldiers must be able to do everything. There are no separate sappers, signalers, or other such specialists for every group. You need to know everything yourself. how to navigate , use communications, basics of dealing with mines Without this knowledge, you'll get physically lost, lose contact with those who could help, and end up stepping on a cute little furball in the middle of no man's land.
The gray zone, by the way, is now 2-3 kilometers. This "Indian territory" contains nothing but abandoned 200, 300, and mines. All this has a very depressing effect on the soldiers.
