Dillon 550 only- Tips, Tricks, Process Q&A thread .

Take the shell plate off and clean the shell plate and everything that the case might touch.
Every time I take the shell plate off and flip it over, I'm amazed at how much gunk builds up in those recesses.

Seems like the same gunk would be building up in the nooks and crannies of 'regular' shell holders on single stage presses, but it never seems to rear it's ugly head on those 🤷‍♂️

Gen 3 Razor/higher magnification

Yeah. I don’t really want to mess with the offsets. I guess could make a duplicate profile and

fair point. We had a hold over stage a few matches back and I had 3 stem hits because of my guestimation. You just brought up something I didn’t really think about.

Shouldn’t really be a guess. Practice breaking down the area between the marks. Yes having the marks there make it easier but it’s not hard with .5 marks to break it down to .1s.

I think you are on to something. It is not accepted, even here, to be honest about how the snipers (and their ROEs) we celebrate actually were/are used in practice. Especially against smelly potentially AK packing, toga wearing randos in dusty dry places. I think often, in practice, considering the inequality in skill and tools, it is effectively a license to kill, like 007. Yup, I’m ok with it, but let’s be honest about our process that results in Achmed getting ventilated. Now, how about drone strikes, and the extremely “flexible” ROE’s we have used them under…
The IDF has a history of using 22LR and shooting in the legs and butts. The way the story/ headline is written is deceiving. With the out of control propaganda you can't trust anything.

All the world is a stage

22arc versus 6 arc

2900 with 85s from a 20” 22arc should easy. My 20” bolt gun was running 80gr eldms at 2930fps with a mild load of varget.

Shot some factory ammo through the 22arc 12.5” AR today.
75gr eldm @ 2590
62gr eld vt @ 2790
Thank you for posting this chronograph data. I was curious as to what velocity a 12.5” barrel would produce. Impressive numbers.
