I'm going with the Mighty Max. Only going to have to bump start it once, that 4 banger will drown out the purple rain! I had a 85 Toyota with an Oklahoma flywheel that had to be bump started frequently. Always found a good slope to park it on.

45-75 with open sights and good cast bullet loads would be better. Definitely get gaters and a 0 degree bag. I have a very light down zero degree bag I bought years ago and it’s still going strong. I was using a 20 degree synthetic bag before that, but spent a couple cold nights with temps in the mid teens and switched to a zero down bag; I love it.

Lots of hod recommendations here.

I called UPS and asked that the package be held at the shipping HUB. UPS said no . 3 delivery attempts or it will be sent back. UPS said call the shipper(Euro Optic) and ask them to change the shipping instructions so it can be left at the shipping hub for pick up. I called Euro Optic and asked them to change the delivery options so the scope could be held at the UPS shipping hub. They did. Called UPS had the scope held at the HUB for pick up.

It's been about a year since I bought anything from Euro Optic so I don't know if their policies have changed but this has worked for me several times.

Edit: Forgot to add that since I knew Euro Optic ships like this I called before I ordered and asked if they could put picking up at the shipping hub as an option on the shipping order. Euro Optic said no. They have to have 1 delivery attempt.

I’ll try after they make one attempt. Euro told me the same thing so far.

Too bad we can’t all be “conventional” like @Milf Dots and either be independently wealthy, retired, or on government handouts without a job. I guess it is unconventional to actually have a JOB these days; we are in the minority. Don’t worry, we will keep it up so all y’all who don’t work for whatever reason, won’t have to. The fact that no changes can be made to deliveries like in the near past, is not yet on Euro’s website when checking out; you would have to call UPS for that, but even they probably couldn’t tell you until after they had a tracking number. The person I talked to said it was the way Euro shipped it that prevented any changes. For the average working Joe, which is less than 50% of the populace, these policies make it hard to order from Euro, but hey, at least the policies don’t affect the majority of people these dsys

@Im2bent UPS said they would not try to deliver this on Saturday, so unfortunately it’s not an option, although in my case, this time, it doesn’t matter anyway as I’m still out of town.

I’m just not suppose to have that scope, it must be a real lemon.

Just a couple years ago the story about the 50+ million dollars that Congress had paid to victims of sexual assault by congressman broke out and started to gain traction. In less than a couple weeks Congress passed a bill to hide the whole story "for the protection of the victims". It was passed by almost a 100% vote by both parties.
Funny how they can react names of CIA, FBI and other agents from a story but redacting the victims name is not sufficient.

Lots of good advice above.
Pay close attention to the items you will spend lots of hours in.

Have quality head to toe base layers, I like merino wool.
A quality sleeping setup, appropriate for the coldest typical weather expected.
^^ These two items can not possibly be overstated.

Have quality boots that you have worn at least 50-100 miles.

Have a good hardshell top and bottom.

If you get these items right you will have a lot of margin for error on everything else.

The magwell on my chassis has a bit more play than I realized — which allowed the front of the magazine to drop down in relation to the chamber despite the rear being totally snug from the mag catch adjustment. When I run the bolt, it causes a rotational type of motion I didn’t initially see until I had someone else shoot the gun while I watched the interaction between the bolt, magazine, bullet and the chamber.

After reading through some of @RAVAGE88 posts I realized my “nose up” scenario was the result of the mag fitment in my chassis and not the direct cause of the problem.

I added pieces of tape, 1 at a time until all play was gone and the magazine feed and shot well — 100 rounds this evening without a misfeed. View attachment 8733646

That 0.0245” made all of the difference— I ran it hard and fast and also very slowly — all good now.

Hopefully— I didn’t waste anyone’s time, but hopefully it’ll help out someone in the future.

Now I need to find a semipermanent shim at 0.0245” that is better than my tape solution. Any thoughts here would be great?

Glad you’re getting it sorted. Nose up issues are rarely ever the magazine, and most feed issues related directly to the magazine (since not that long ago) are due to the adjustable catch that no one has provided an adjustment procedure for (there’s another thread that illustrates this perfectly). Same goes for adjustable magazine releases. These two unnecessary gadgets are not a solution and it's interesting that the race is on to see who can come up with the best adjustable gadget instead of making things to the proper dimensions.

When it comes to these adjustable catches (L3i and Zermatt), there’s no way to position the magazine properly based on key dimensions, mark the position of the catch, remove the mag and tighten the locking screw. Instead, one has to use the hope and pray method, and the "hope" part is that one doesn't get too frustrated before it works at least a little bit before throwing it in the corner.

With the L3i, using the “width” adjustment can cause feeding issues, so set it to its most “narrow” position and leave it there.

The sloppy positioning (relative to the receiver face) and dimensions of the mag wells are difficult to rectify without actually throwing the chassis or DBM in the trash can. So, shims of some sort have been the common route for quite a while and my prediction is, one of the popular chassis makers is about to be lead down a path that could make things worse.

There are numerous types of adhesive shim stock available (brass, stainless, etc.), but in your case, the closest I found to .0245” is .022”, but there’s .002” and .003” options (depending on which way you deviate) that you could layer on top of the .022”.

The issues that the community has been forced to deal with are ridiculous and its crickets coming from those that created the problems.
