Pretty much.

Optics are the category fraud people target. Every day we fight it. So do others of course. Several years ago we had someone need to "hold" a ZCO at the shipping facility because they could not be home to sign for it. These shipping facilities are not run by people who are going to say no much so some guy ( not the customer who purchased the scope ) came in and and said he was picking up a package for his bestie so the shipping person happily handed over the scope. Scope gone. Purchaser says they never got it so charge back happens and we are out the scope and the money so no more redirecting.

Scopes are easy to resell and not tracked like cans or firearms to that is what all the scammers target.

I'm guessing it's fraud related, but would appreciate your industry take on the matter.

I do know that UPS procedures for firearms parts shipping changed substantially a couple of years ago, to ship anything firearms related other than an optic now requires an FFL shipping agreement with them. Even sending a $5 molded plastic AR grip falls under that new terms of service.

When it's "Adult Signature" it's in God's hands and can't be rerouted, unfortunately I've shipped a few that way accidentally that were not FFL items

Recently received my first set of area 419 hunt rings and they definitely will not be my last. The fit and finish of the rings and hardware is absolutely stunning. Also not an option on My Choice nor with calls to both UPS and Euro. Ridiculous!

I have My Choice and with this shipment it offered no options at all. I called UPS and they couldn’t do anything either, not even change the delivery date to next Tuesday when I’m home. Euro told me they don’t redirect to UPS stores anymore nor their hubs. I guess that’s a more recent change. Sounds like UPS doesn’t want business from people like us; kind of strange.

I use Atips exclusively for my 300 win and 50 BMG, with that said they perform amazing in the 300, including taking animals, the 50 is another story, target the are fine animal the explode.

The shipper can specify that a package cannot be redirected when generating the label. This applies to both FedEx and UPS.

As was mentioned you used to be able to hold non-redirectable packages at the nearest UPS terminal/hub with a customer counter for signature and pickup, but since UPS is closing all customer counters at their hubs/terminals that is no longer an option. At this time a UPS store is considered a different delivery address and thus you can't redirect any packages there if the shipper flagged the shipment as not able to be redirected.

As if not allowing individuals without a signed FFL firearm and firearm parts shipping agreement to send anything gun related though UPS other than an optic wasn't annoying enough...

Units 86 & 87. Buddy has an 8-man tent for base camp. Will camp beside the truck. Smaller tents if we need to sleep farther away. He has lightweight solar panels, small refrigerator, heater, even Starlink. will need to lock up that gear daily.

Any mass produced rifle that behaves that badly eating brass cased commercial ammo, thats a big no thanks from me.

Should have gone to trial and received the death penalty x 4 IMHO.

On the latest set up, I have a mostly clean mirs and a well painted grey stock. Wouldn't be opposed to swaperoo on a mirs thats more of a match.
