10 second showdown

I like drills, and think that they are a good tool for improving yourself *in very specific areas. Bonus that you have a way to measure your improvement.

I did my fair share of (basic) pistol stuff when I was a (basic) pistol and rifle marksmanship instructor. Nothing however improved my abilities to hit moving targets or shoot from unusual circumstances like moving out to the ranch. I got humbled a few times by skunks, armadillos etc... when I was trying to chase one through obstacles and put an end to their life.

Practice makes better (usually), and I'm perfectly confident in my abilities now to jump out of a still slowly moving SxS , draw and hit your average moving armadillo at about 20 yards. Past that it gets iffy unless I'm slow-firing at a stationary target. Or shoot a snake in the head at ___ yards... blah, blah, blah, hopefully you get my point.

Still haven't been put under the stress of having an armadillo or skunk shoot back... heaven help us all if we get to that point.

Rifle Scopes Tips to "Safely" Reset NightForce Zero Stop?

I've never had issue holding while i engage the zero stop. depending on the scope. Guess you just have to rezero, I would for piece of mind anyway. on the older scopes, you used to be able to hold it with an allen wrench or screw driver while setting the zero stop. on the poi shift, probably obvious and might be silly mentioning it, but was your barrel hot? don't here it's hard to zero and shoot groups because barrels get hot quick then take forever to cool down because of the humidity.

WHY????? Mag feed vs. Hand feed

First time I went to the range with my new rifle I didn’t quite get the accuracy I was expecting (which honestly wasn’t that much). Next time I decided to try single feeding my rounds into the chamber to see if it made a difference and things went much better with things hovering around moa when I did my part
Were you single feeding in a manner that resulted in the bolt locking back rather than going back into battery? I'm asking because the recoil impulse is different and I'm of the mind that a fault in your follow through can be exacerbated but the full cycling of the action.

I don't think that anyone is saying that all ammo in all ARs will shoot better when single fed. You just get better results with some rigs shooting some ammo.

I typically only single fed when running ammo that was too long for the magazine.

Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

Had some YouTube documentaries playing today and just happened to notice the number of 'vaccine' shot ads were on... Fly shot, Pnumococcal pneumonia for seniors, HPV virus for teens, more that I can't remember. How many shots are kids/adults having pushed on them by doctors and pharmaceutical marketers? How many people are getting some 'new' shot every time they turn around?

And who has tested these shots, especially when taken together? Does anyone have any CLUE about what kind of chemical or, worse, immune system soup they are creating?

Autism? IMHO, just a drop in the bucket of chronic illness, early death, alzheimers, cancers... and a ton of other shit. Oh and all that shit... makes the medical community hundreds of billions every year.

Follow the money.

People are under the assumption that vaccines are tested. Double blind large tests to be sure that there are no adverse effects.

They’re not. Not at all.

Why do people load so hot?

Could be I have better than average Lake City LR brass - mine is 2005 thru 2011 - I got a good deal and bought a bunch.

I happen to be reloading 308 with LC LR. I grabbed ten random pieces. All had been sized and decapped, primer pockets dirty. I also grabbed ten random pieces of brand new Lapua, primer pockets clean. Just for grins, I weighted each population and ran basic stats.

using only case weight, my LCLR is more consistent than new Lapua. The pedantic among you will notice that the Lake City is on the average about 3 grains heaver than Lapua.

I think my Lake City shoots not quite as well as Lapua but loaded exactly the same (same shoulder, primer, powder and charge, bullet and COL) both are 0.4 and 0.5 MOA at 100 yards and that is good enough for me.

Definitely not going to 'poo-poo' on your data man, as I appreciate your comparison.

However, I found years ago that case weight is surprisingly not as good an indicator of volume as I would have thought. H2O capacity has been the way I turned to about 15-20 years ago for my layman's approach.

My LC LR brass is all '12 headstamp. I actually had two different weight ranges. Most of the cases were like yours, but I had at least three (IIRC) that were about a full five grains heavier - the kind of result that makes you stop and start re-weighing stuff. Even though those cases were heavier, the case volumes were in the same range as the other 17.

Why do people load so hot?

One of the guys who blew up a gun while I was standing there got some shrapnel in his face - his glasses probably saved his eyesight. Most of the shrapnel was in the front of his body. He was wearing a white tee shirt and there were maybe 15 bloody spots I could see as he was jumping around working his way through the adrenaline dump. We sorta calmed him down so we could decide if he had any deep wounds. Some of the gun was over here, some over there.
Add a welding apron.

Experience, precision shooting and bench rest competitors. Notice I said acceptable pressures. Your particular brass determines what pressures you can load to. I want a load that shoots well and doesn't ruin my brass.
I don't care what the velocity is. I shoot for the best consistent group I can get that fits in my magazine including my magpul ar10 mags. The rest is wind reading and math and I have AB for that.

It just doesn't feel the same

I couldn't agree more. Perhaps it's my fine, triple-milled Italian shave soap, but the homos are coming out of the woodwork wanting to fight when I refuse to respond to their PMs asking for dick pics.

Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

I drove my son and his buddies 4 1/2 hrs north to hike and camp . So I ask them what'd ya pack to eat . Over half of it was Chef Boyardee . So I responded with Chef YoAmBeeeee . Come back to pick them up and every other statement is " Chef YO AM BEE!! .
Be careful what you say round the youngins. 😆

Ridgeline Defense RD-15 LPR

Whatever happened to the shorter option? Not everyone wants a 15" rail, but I guess I can fire up the bandsaw...
There is a single 11.5” MLOK only LPR concept rifle we built for reasons. I like the idea of offering different LPR barrel and hand guard options and I think it will be a thing at some point in the future once LPR production is back on track.
