Someone murdered Charlie Kirk

Dude, I'm trying to be generically informative without getting overly wonky. It's a shooting site not an aviation site. And changing a sqwak to 1200 still provides mode C altitude reporting. Bottom line, there's a completely normal, non-conspiratorial explaination why the transponder MAY have disappeared from flight aware. But a business jet randomly disearing from ATC is going to be noticed. Not exactly a move you make if you're trying to be all spooky

I agree with you. I too am a professional aviator. I just want to ensure the correct information is disseminated.

Fire Control System, Part 1

This video is Part 1 of a 2 Part topic regarding the Fire Control System (FCS) used in the early Gen 2 through Gen 3 V22 action designs. I am the original designer/inventor of these platforms. In Part 1 of the "Fire Control System," I'm covering the basics of bolt assembly disassembly, replacing the cocking piece, bolt assembly re-assembly and proper adjustment of the handoff timing, aka, "Firing Pin Fall."

This video assumes one is using the standard 22-pound force main spring (firing pin spring) and is desiring to tap into all the available energy offered by the higher rate main spring.

Part 2 of the FCS series will cover the Main Spring Kit that includes color-coded main springs from 15-pound force to 22-pound force. Anyone interested in the Main Spring Kit and/or has general questions about other topics can reach out to me at [email protected].

Following the FCS Part 2 video (which should be available within three weeks), I'll cover, in great detail, Feeding and Cycling Issues; how to properly diagnose them and how to set up your rifle without worry of malfunction in a match.

Nepal blew a gasket

I used to work with and be friends with two Nepali brothers. Their old man was a doctor for the WHO and one of their uncles was a former prime minister. Very well educated, hard working guys. I'll try to reach out and see what they have to say and report back. Oh and I still have a Gurkha kukri they gifted me with, actual military one, not the cheap tourist shit. Wicked sharp and heavy.

Calypso AB Mini Ultrasonic Wind Meter

Pops shooting with the Calypso AB mini ultrasonic wind meter and the Vectronix Vector X binos synced up to base the windage calculations in applied ballistics on live wind readings

As many of you know, I received one of the Calypos AB mini ultrasonic wind meters while I was doing the Vectronix Vector X binocular reviews about a year ago. At that time, the Calypso meter was in beta and it was a while before the first iterations of the supporting software to get the meter to communicate with a range finder to integrate it’s readings with rangefider data and be part of the ballistic solution existed. I think it was this April that AB Quantum incorporated this functionality. At the time of that release, I did not have luck in getting the Calypso AB meter to work with any of my AB binos though. I recall it saying it paired with the Sig binos at that time. That pairing didn’t seem to actually work to produce calculations based on active wind readings and the wind meter didn’t even yet pair with the Vectronix or Leica binos. Every once and a while I have tried it out wind meter again but it hasn’t been top of mind. While setting up for yesterdays big range trip I updated the Vector X and Calypso firmware as well as the AB application software and got a fun surprise. For the first time, all the software and hardware clicked. Not only did it work, but it was also seamless and easy. The Vectronix binoculars paired with the Calypso wind meter easily in the app and even re-acquired it without issue each time the binos fell asleep and were awakened. Fresh new wind calls based on the live data each time I ranged a target. This was pretty exciting. Now I need to dig into the specifics of exactly if/how all of this works with multi-target range cards for competitive shooters. For someone looking to range a target with an AB equipped rangefinder and then shoot it using AB calculated data based a wind reading captured at the time of ranging, the system is very easy and simple to use though. I also need to test out the Calypso pairing and function with the Sig 10k and Leica Geovid Pro binos.

The view through the Vectronix Vector X binos while connected to the Calypso AB mini ultrasonic wind meter. The binoculars display “CLPS” for the wind source (though this is super hard to make out in the through the lens photo).
