What upper receivers are you guys using to get a good thermal fit?

Centurion and BKings offer advertised thermal fit uppers. I like the Zev/Solgw/Icon stuff but they aren’t a thermal fit. Generally advertised as a slip or resistance fit. However barrel extension size always has a say.
Thanks for the heads up. I'm inclined t go with Centurion, but man, the BKing is half the price. Now I'm on the fence. I'd like to stock up and don't want to buy a bunch at first. Maybe I'll get one of each.

Looking at the Leupold Mk5

That chart is a little dated, here's the updated information from the most recent season:

I'm always amazed Burris never seems well represented.

Every review you read about the XTR Pro says it just barely lags behind the RZR 6-36, ATACR 7-35 etc, is same price as Mark 5hd 5-25, better specs and features (IMO), yet no one uses them.

Based on price and specs alone the XTR Pro should eclipse the Mark 5, throw in reviews and it's not even close to what should be the more popular scope.

Either the Leupold marketing machine is doing working its magic, people are getting good discounts/free on scopes, or people are just buying what the "Pros" are buying.

Suppressors TBAC Magnus

The argument for your set would be the S is a great middle size can, quieter than an Ultra 7 which many think is more than quiet enough for normal shooting. The argument for the full size Magnus-RR would be the most recoil reduction (* on 6.5/308 sized cartridges and larger), at the lowest dB level. For lightweight hunting the K-RR is the way to go.

Powder IN-STOCK thread

Got my American "Similar to H4895 today".... its definitely not identical to H4895, so I assume it "burns like" H4895.. we will see when I get a chance to test it...

Here a picture i just took to compare them.. actual H4895 on the left, MP455 (Similar to H4895) on right.

They are completely different colors.. H4895 is a light tan....MP455 is a dark graphite grey..

H4895 has very consistent kernel shape and size... MP455 has inconsistent kernel shape and size...

We will see how it shoots and compares.

I know a guy who is friends with the guy who owns AR. He says sometimes they mix surplus powder and pressure test it until they get the burn rate they want. So some is direct clone and some is their own mix of surplus powder.

Suppressors TBAC Magnus

It is a dramatic difference in recoil. If you are shooting competition where it matters or magnums I would recommend it. The difference in noise is noticeable but not crazy. You could go with the S-RR and a full size Magnus. The S-RR would be a really good compromise between length, suppression, and recoil reduction. The full size Magnus (not RR) would be the quietest.

Quartz tops..wife changed the whole kitchen etc

So instead of granite which is indestructible we now have pretty white quartz that you can’t put a hot pot on anymore..so much easier 😠

Had granite. Scratch and chip too easy. We talked about the hot pot deal. She said, “I don’t do it now, why would I start?”

I wanted a darker color, she wanted light. We compromised and got light.

They started the bathrooms yesterday. As well as the kitchen went, this has been a total clusterfuck. One sink hole cut in the wrong place, did not account for an electric outlet, backsplashes wrong size. Won’t be back before Monday. Wife has a hen party this Sunday. I’m spending a lot of time loading ammo and (re)cleaning guns. Just trying to stay out of the crossfire.

Thou shall not take the king's fish(bluefin)

Ever seen a false albacore? Aka bonita here in the Gulf, aka little tuny.
Yeah....i eat them. Love em cooked or raw. There is no way a bluefin is darker and oily as a bonita.
If you do not cut the fish up correctly, then a cat wom't eat it.
There is no bad meat, only shitty butchers and cooks.
No...with all due respect i have seen bluefin meat...your observations sound like they come straight from a person who only eats codfish and haddock. No way the cuts ive seen aren't deliciious.

Edit to add:
"Only japanese eat that shit."
That really is an oldy but goody. Heard it first 30 years ago when they were trying to "save the billfish"
I fucking hate people who act like catch and release is some kind of divine religion. It is custom made for self righteous cunts.
The mantra about sailfish being inedible by anyone but them nasty japanese is complete bullshit.
Bled, field dressed, and properly iced, they are delicious. So are most species of shark. Yet we have a false narrative going on now to save the sharks...."they aren't good to eat! And they are endangered!"
BULL SHIT.
True. I’ve eaten blue marlin and it was good. Didn’t see how it was prepared though…

What upper receivers are you guys using to get a good thermal fit?

Until recently, my goto stripped upper receiver was the BCM blems. A while back, I ordered half a dozen of them. They all worked fine for various rigs and provided a good thermal fit. When I ran out, I ordered 3 more.

Of those 3, two were unusable. One was so tight that I couldn't even get the lapping jig in, much less the barrel, even with liberal use of a torch. Once I got things together, it shot like crap. Gotta imagine there was a whole lot of stress.

On the other, the charging handle, no matter which I used, kept reciprocating.

So, what else is being used to get a good thermal fit?
