Zero Compromise Optic ZC527 in OD Green Limited Edition in stock at cstactical.com

Of course it’s sunny right now. And it was when I headed outside earlier. But for the 30 minutes I sat around trying to get a decent picture the clouds just wouldn’t cooperate. Best I can do for now. I think these represent the color a little better.View attachment 8696951

Rifle Scopes 2.5-20x50 NX8 or 4-16x42 ATACR for 18” DMR

Terry,

Any issues picking up the center dot at 16x? I didn’t know if they increase the size of the reticle for the lower magnification.
I'm not 100% sure on tracking with your question.

The center dot on the Mil CF2 is going to stay slaved to the image size on the FFP version just like the rest of the reticle elements.

Your ability to see it is going to be directly related to the chosen magnification as well as the contrast of the background being viewed.

Seeing small FFP reticles on the low end mag is tough in low light conditions with dark backgrounds.
Just finding the center of the reticle can be challenging so you sure as hell better have good batteries in your Digilume.

Out of the box problems with my ZCO 527

I'm in a completely different industry and the amount of issues that are actually the part vs user error is easily 1-10.
People are so quick to blame the part, they will even blame the part after they tell you how they fucked it up, it's insane.
Another story from old guy about arrogance. It's good for a grin, an eye roll, and a karma sort of thing but otherwise useless.

I WAS THAT GUY. First programming job, back in the heyday of IBM mainframes. Total newbie. I was tasked with creating a very simple program to read and format data from a disk file and print the output. So it takes me 15 minutes to write the code and create and submit the job. Job runs. No errors. No formatted output. And the input data file is empty.

So I tell the admin to please recreate the input file. Takes her 30 minutes. I look at my code. It's fine. Run the job again. No errors. No output. Input file is empty.

Admin tells me I can recreate the data file my own self. I'm pissed. I grab the fanfold-paper job listing and stomp across campus to the main computer center, march indignantly into the office of the SME for the programming language, slap the listing on his desk and state in no uncertain terms: "I BET YOU A MONTH'S PAY THERE IS A BUG IN [LANGUAGE] - IT ATE MY DATA FILE TWICE." He gently pushes the listing to the corner of his desk and says, "I'll look at it." And just looks at me until I turn around and stomp out.

Halfway back to my office - I actually had one to myself, back there in 1982 - I had an inspiration. I get back and pull up the job. Programming code is fine. But IBM mainframes of the era had to be explicitly told EVERYTHING it needed to run a job - job name, who pays for it, where to find data, where to find program libraries, where to send output, and much more.

And there it was in my JCL (Job Control Language). I had switched my SYSIN and SYSOUT data definitions. Instead of reading from the input file and writing to the printer, I told it to read from the printer and write to the input file. As soon as the input file was opened for write, the data it contained vanished.

I called Eric and humbly asked if he required a check or could I pay in installments. I was mortified, but I learned. Slowly. Heh. This incident was 15 years before the one recounted above.... I learned humility in my coding but God gave me a thimble-size capacity for people-patience....

Ukraine war Bullshit.

Mosin46
Are you here?
Did you choose a nickname in honor of Mosin Volodyslav who fights for Ukraine in the special unit of the GUR Kraken? Or in honor of his great-grandfather, a gunsmith from the Voronezh province?
no retard. collected MN 91s and born in '46. BTW
fuck Ukraine
fuck Europe

2025 NRL Clovis, NM match

RO'd last year. was brutal getting through all 24 stages. RO'ing again this year. One guy in my squad went down and did not finish the match.

No tips really. Tough to find targets if light sucks. Winds werent horrible.

As mentioned little to no shade. Carry your own water. Wasnt horrible tho.

Had one 0. Didnt find a target. THere was only 1 target. Perfectly blended. Wasnt even far. First 10 shooters didnt fire a shot on that stage. Thats the downfall of shooting as RO. Have to start early and finish late. Lighting sucks.

I enjoyed the match overall.

Rifle Scopes 2.5-20x50 NX8 or 4-16x42 ATACR for 18” DMR

I actually considered this but damn it’s a long scope. 😝
It kinda is. . . . .
but that is exactly why they can get the great performance and forgiving characteristics out of it.
It's not big just to be big.

The Dark Lord of Optics/ @koshkin has been on a few podcasts discussing the optical design limits and what is typically penalized when trimming down physical size (length).

He even specifically discusses scopes larger objective lens and short lengths from the turret housing to the front of the objective. . . which is exactly describing the NX8 2-20. . . .

The 4-16x42 ATACR isn't small but it is very forgiving in actual use with huge depth of focus and great resolution.
And don't let any old school fuds tell you the 42mm front end won't perform in low light.

MDT introduces the HNT26! A 26 Ounce Carbon Fiber Hunting Chassis.

LRI did all of the work on the barreled action for these three HNT26 hunting rifles.

My rifle's specs:
  • Remington 40X titanium long action receiver (1 of 9 made)
  • Skeletonized long action bolt with carbon fiber bolt knob
  • LRI aluminum picatinny scope rail
  • Bix'n Andy Pro-X trigger with gator shoe
  • Vortex AMG 1-10x24 black scope
  • OPS AWP 1.125" military surplus scope rings
  • Proof Research 20" .300WM carbon fiber barrel
  • PTR Vent 1 3D printed titanium silencer
  • MDT HNT26 long action carbon fiber stock (folding and Arca)
  • MDT adjustable buttplate
  • Aftermarket buttpad
  • MDT 3 rounds polymer magazine
  • Backlanz carbon fiber bipod
My rifle currently weighs 9 pounds and 3.5 ounces with these parts. However, I'm waiting for a new scope and scope mount, and I'm going to lighten the adjustable buttplate. Doing so will drop the weight by a minimum of 10 ounces. Once I make these final modifications, this rifle should weigh about 8.5 lbs or possibly less. And that weight includes the scope, silencer, bipod, and empty magazine.

Below are the two HNT26 hunting rifles that I gave to two of my friends as gifts. Their rifles still need the new trigger, adjustable buttplate, aftermarket buttpad, and bipod.

The two rifles below have:
  • Original US Army used Remington M24 receivers (with FOIA paperwork)
  • Mk13 bolts with carbon fiber knobs
  • Remington M24 trigger
  • NightForce ATACR 4-16x42 scopes
  • OPS AWP 1.5" scope rings/mount
  • TBAC Magnus silencer
The stocks, barrels, and scope rails on these two rifles are the same parts as the ones on my rifle.

Ukraine war Bullshit.

hate to see best ag land on earth trashed. not a fan of nuc fallout. think best bet is for Putin to turn loose FSB and Spetsnaz on Z and his whole crew. they already tried to take Putin out with drones. so,the usual don't take out foreign enemy leaders is off the board. or,he could drone Z back. the Jews have had success with directed strikes. read they just took out the head of Hamas in Gaza. he could drone out Macron,Merz and Starmer.
would be a big help all around.
