Annealed brass opinion

There’s an emerging trend where a bunch of guys that are saying that you should kneel first and then tumble for only a short time and that it removes oxidation in the neck caused by the kneeling and makes your seating force more consistent due to less friction

I used to do it exactly in the order that you described, but I recently switched and I do think that my seating force is both less force and more consistent

2025 NRL Clovis, NM match

I shot it last year. The terrain on the first day was pretty flat pretty easy walking but it was vey warm and humid. I’m in good shape and stay well hydrated and I was cramping the end of the first day. Second was a little bit more challenging but nothing crazy again very warm. Stay hydrated for sure. Lodging I stayed at some place that wasn’t anything I would recommend but there was a rodeo in town last year so it was kinda take what you can get. Doing an Airbnb this year. It’s a great match and awesome venue.

Got it in Norway 2012. Still 300+-miles to go to get to Nordkapp. Northernmost point in The world that you can ride or drive to! Way North of Deadhorse, Alaska!!

Sirhr

PS. Today’s ride before Pikes Peak was awesome. Met up with @Starbuck amd ran about 180 miles of Colorado canyons at really respectable speeds for adventure bikes! That boy can ride!!

Overall, spectacular day of riding!

If you get a chance take a spin through the San Juans from Durango to Ouray. IMHO the most beautiful part of CO.

11 shots for 1.2 MOA at 600 yards with my M14

That is some good shooting, and some nice rifles!I have always considered getting a M1a mainly just because I think they are cool, but I keep procrastinating because I have a MWS that has proven to be an exceptional and consistent shooter.

What kind of accuracy could be expected from a less-optimized M1a? IE one with a forged receiver, glass stock, and good barrel, but none of the other tricks?

CO witness vs Combat cut RMR

Unfortunately, the only way to know what will work for you will be to try them. Running around the house in your underwear and trying it out is wholly different from running drills on a timer and actually seeing which is faster.
Running around the range in your underwear on a timer will always produce faster times. Aerodynamics and all that.

Rifle Scopes 2.5-20x50 NX8 or 4-16x42 ATACR for 18” DMR

I need a new scope for my 18” 5.56 DMR. I am torn between the two options from NF. I usually don’t like to go below 18-20x on my scopes but I see a lot of love for the ATACR, for obvious reasons. Both would be bought with a MIL-XT and cost around the same +\- $400

Any substantial optical quality I would be giving up by going with the NX8?
Which 4-16 ATACR are you referring to?
The 42mm objective version is a totally different animal compared to the 50mm version.

NX8 is a tad physically smaller but at the cost of an unforgiving exit pupil, more critical eye relief envelope and definitely a much shallower depth of focus when compared to the 42mm objective version of ATACR.

You didn't mention whether the NX8 you are considering is FFP or SFP so I'm assuming FFP.
If FFP, I double dare you to use any of the reticle features while in the low end of your X.
As with a lot of the FFP scopes, the very reason you justified them over SFP is nullified when you are using the lower end of your magnification. This problem is more prominent as you look at FFP scopes with 1:8 and 1:10 ratio mag ranges.

The NX8 line is one that I really wanted to like when they were announced but in this case, I would vote for the 4-16x42

CO witness vs Combat cut RMR

I'm thinking about CO-witness the 26 and combat cut the 19x from the comments above. I'm half tempted to wait till I can run to Nashville and go to the store. Supposedly they have demos of both cut styles there.
Unfortunately, the only way to know what will work for you will be to try them. Running around the house in your underwear and trying it out is wholly different from running drills on a timer and actually seeing which is faster.
