One Big Beautiful Bill Passes the House!

You say all this as though the bill hinges on the HPA. I don't think it would be accurate to say the HPA is the driving force for this bill. I would say we are getting the bill wheather we like it or not.

You would be correct, there is SOME good in the bill, but as a whole it’s just more over spending and garbage per status quo of the last century!

As a whole this bill should be voted down, seeing as they will pass a similar version regardless, I say let’s just get the HPA through! Though they should amend it to fully deregulate suppressors and pre-empt states from banning them. Ideally they should state in the bill that suppressors are arms and fully protected by the 2A.

Maggie’s Man's Best Friend Thread

Spent the last five days up in the Cascades near the Mt Aix trailhead with these two. Kanga, two year old brown and white mixed female terrier and Roo, 11 year old brown mixed female everything. Both rescues. Roo has been going to this spot for 10 years. When she’s there, she’s like a puppy.

Dogs make me a better person.

Never understood why anybody would do that to ANYbody that they KNEW wouldn't be able to handle it. Girls, little kids, etc. Even if nobody got hurt, that person would never want to shoot anything again or have an incurable flinch. Pisses me off severely to hear of these dumbass pranks

Same. New shooters shoot rimfire here, or suppressed centerfire, until they are trained and aware of what is going to happen when they hit the bang switch.

New Burris XTR PS

It's getting there. It seems the first do it all units are probably going to compromise on all to be the jack of all trades. Perhaps issues with them all working together. Kestrel is bullet proof, simple ranging binos or handheld just works, and a lot of good solid scope choices now a days. Combining them is the goal at the cost of simplicity and some redundancy. The Burris ballistics is a couple tenths off at 1007yds from my kestrel which was dead on today. 6creed speed helps offset that. Was good enough for the 10" target at even 834yds and the 16" at 1k but hit under the 10" going with the Burris ballistics.
That’s awesome man. Question though…

how’s the glass on it?

I’m still stuck on the eliminator 6, knowing it’s neither mil or moa on the tree and I can’t use my AB Quantum anymore.

NICS checks out in free states

It’s interesting that Florida’s CWP does not qualify, even though we have to submit fingerprints and photographs and submit to a state background check.
We were told that it was because those states that ran criminal history checks every month to insure that CC holders did not have a disqualifying arrest or event.
Sounds legit............;).

Local gun store/ indoor range around here had that happen. A guy thought it would be funny to hand his new girlfriend/first time shooter a fully loaded .44 Magnum revolver. She had never handled or fired a gun before. He was standing right behind her when this happened.

During/after the first shot, she managed to partially hang on to it while involuntarily pulling the trigger a second time just as it had recoiled, came up, went back back and was pointed at his face. His brain matter was all over the back wall.

I felt sorry for her. She had to live with what happened.

Rifle Scopes Reticle size vs zoom range ffp

Short answer is yes a .1mil line looks the same in all scopes at the same magnification as it's the same size in all scopes.

The long answer is just because the main line thickness it the same in two scopes, doesn't mean that the reticle in general looks the same.
Spacing and thickness of harsh marks makes a big difference to overall visibility.

A good example is the centre cross in the SCR2 reticle, all though the line thickness is thinner than most centre dots, the cross shape is overall larger so easier to pick up at lower magnification, but then at higher magnification the thin line thickness means you still get a nice precise aiming point.

The EBR-7c is also a good example, the thicker .5mil hashes on the horizontal makes the reticle appear thicker than it actually is.

KRG Bravo Finger Bite

Normally I'm used to hearing 'hot spot' in relation to a grip only with something like a hammer or hand saw handle ie some designs will cause a 'hot spot' where the web of your hand or side of a finger can start to blister prematurely due to a poor fit.

Is that what you guys are talking about here? If so, HTF are you grabbing the grip *on a bolt gun* to cause that kind of friction/wear?

11 shots for 1.2 MOA at 600 yards with my M14

I was testing a load in my vintage sniper M14 last week and managed to score a 100-6X at 600 yards for 1.2 MOA. If I included the sighter, it would be 110-7X. I scored 6 X's in a row until the wind blew me out of the X-ring. I fought to bring it back in and managed to finish with an X.

Moved to the 300 yard line to get some scope data and I pulled a shot and scored a 99-4X

Also took my scout rifle along and shot it at 200 yards. Scored a 100-5X

Both rifles aren't shooting too bad. I'm happy with them.
