It really doesn't - to a point.

The biggest problem of the past was trying to get 6 & 6.5mm cartridges to play nice with mag fed systems, especially when utilizing the more modern projectiles.

Once we got past that hurdle, it doesn't really matter much what you shoot when you stick in the 6-6.5mm realm.

How long were humps on this competition?

The IPRF factory class is an interesting solution. If the rifles available are turn key competitive with custom 700 patterns, that’s hard to beat, assuming similar cost. My angle is looking for the same performance without the months of tinkering to get it to run smoothly and reliably. Other than looking forward to being in senior’s class, choosing a rifle based on class it fits in is not high on my list.

Seriously, @TahoeDust if you go Proof then you will be at 26” anyways as that is all they make for steel prefits and only comp contour.

A reduced load for H4895 or IMR 4895 under a Hornady 125 SST is your huckleberry for this. Shoot for a starting velocity of 2500-2600 fps, and a minimum impact velocity of 1900 fps at your maximum range.

They shoot soft and despite the reduced loads are often very accurate.
