Soft case for the win! Unless I'm flying. The extra weight and size isn't worth it. You can get a nice soft case from Costco, Savior brand. It was been perfectly fine so far.

If you can do this without taking 1% of your attention away from what you are supposed to do -clearing and verifying the status of the chamber without sweeping anything- than have at it if you crave the showmanship.
The problem is people with lesser skills trying to look cool. Especially in scenarios where they do not have and RO looking over their shoulder.

Couple coats of plasti dip works very well to harden up that pluck and pull.
