6.5 PRC Loads

6.5 PRC out of a Sako S20 24" barrel was super easy for me to load. Virgin Lapua brass, H1000, 143 gr ELDX, and BR2 primers. Loaded up three approaching max book load to check for pressure. Loaded next seven at 59.0 grains and got a .7 MOA group (WITH one called wide), 2930 fps, 6.2 SD.

The load / rifle combo is a laser. Adding a Scythe-TI to it only changed POI about .1 mil low, still way sub-MOA groups. I've thought about chasing some more velocity, or trying the 156 Bergers, but why mess with success?

6.5 Creedmoor

I’m probably way overthinking it. Just want to make sure I am well below pressure signs. I’ve been running 42.5gr staball when hogdon max is 44gr. First time using h4350 and hogdon max is 40.0 which seems real low and hornady is 41.5. I see most guys in the 40-42.5 range but know some see pressure before 41.5 and some run at 44+.

I was thinking I’ll load up to 43 gr and once I see marks or heavy bolt lifts I’ll stop and pull the higher loads apart. I will NOT knowingly keep shooting higher charges once I find those marks.

If you truly want to find pressure kind of like I tried, load 2 of each going up in .3 or .2 increments until you see signs. Stop at the very first sign and if you have any doubt at any point, stop.

6.5 Creedmoor

If you’re not shooting something like prairie dogs or coyotes with a fast .22 then a few extra fps means nothing. Just load like Rob said at 41, dial in you kestrel and crush targets. I load 41.2 with a 140 hybrid and I’m 2,760 in a 26” krieger. This is all you need to do and there’s a reason why almost everyone is right in this ballpark. Your concern of being to much pressure dependent on your environmental conditions is not there around this charge weight. It’s also basically a proven accurate load with the components you are using. It’s just the easy button.

Barrel wear or a manufacturing problem?

I have zero idea why you are upset. I said nothing offensive to you at all.

As for that little spot in the groove, dunno what it is. Looks a lot like the reflection seen elsewhere it the pic. Ot it could be a very small flaw. I can’t really tell

Cheers and I hope your day gets better. Positive energy, yeah (y) 👊
I’m not upset. No real insult intended.

And more Karen Read trial bullshit

Yes extremely funny ; police helping their own cover up murdering a girl he started fucking when she was 15. Yep fucking hilarious.
You are so clever
So he went to jail? Due process and justice type stuff.

Of course we all know true justice is only served when a fake internet warrior virtue signals and gaslights about child rape and murder. I’m sure the family can find peace now that nigantguy has done his work.

I’ll mansplsin for you So you don’t have to look it up.

(gaslighting is a type of psychological abuse aimed at making victims seem or feel “crazy,” creating a “surreal” interpersonal environment)

(Virtue signaling -behavior where someone publicly displays their own moral qualities or beliefs, often to gain social approval or to appear virtuous)

6.5 Creedmoor

Not trying to run super hot. Just want to find that charge that I start getting heavy bolt lifts and/or the extractor marks so I know what my true max is and then back it down a half grain or more from there so I know. That way I don’t get to 41.5 and think I’m great but 41.6 is actually where pressure signs start and suddenly on a extreme heat day or something I’m not flirting with the danger zone. I can always pull a few bullets once I hit pressure.

I've looked for pressure signs before by sending only one round every .3gr increments onto a dot. I also note POI here.

If you look at the very top row on this cardboard target, you'll see what I mean.

I started at the left with a 15 shot group of a known load but if you look just to the right of it, you'll see where I started this test.

I never saw any pressure signs though. However, that does not mean there wasn't over-pressure happening at those higher charges and I ended up just sticking to my previous known load.

India vs Pakistan

This wont go well. Several Chinese companies are there exploiting the minerals. Pakistan needs Balochistan as well for farming/livestock. China isn't going to give up its investments and Balochistan's role in the China's belt and road initiative. So China will support the Paks in squashing this.
